I never thought I would get emotional about a TV series ending but this wasn't just any TV series. This is a sad day for me and I don't know what the future holds for NCIS but the show has lost more than a character. Thank you Mark Harmon for giving us the best TV Drama to ever grace that little screen. We love you and will miss you! ❤
I gotta say. We’ll done by the whole cast. the final Image of Leroy jethro gibbs fishing in Alaska is one I can be happy with for his ending . Thanks mr Harmon 🙏🏻
If the idea is to lessen the role of Gibbs than this was a perfect heartfelt moment. Let's face it he is burnt out and the events of the past seasons or two lead to this. Ellie & Jack left, Ziva is alive etc after 20+ years all of that has to get to him. I think that the producers are giving Mark Harmon an opportunity to still be part of NCIS, which he wants, but this way he can cut back . His character like Ducky will still there & will probably appear more often. The decision could have been to have Gibbs KIA or do what Ziva did but in this way he can still be there. The one line I hope that is mentioned is that somehow Sloan and the orphned gitls were able to leave Afganistan safely. One more point this is one of the few times that Gibbs allowed himself an emotional moment between himself and the other team members. I think that after he was suspended he began to de -compress. Beating up the dog killer was not only a reaction to that horrible crime but a release of his pent up rage ,anger & supression of emotions that had been building up over the years. Similar to a volcano the pressures erupt.
Holy shit. Gibbs’ day has come. There’s no way to put all of that into words. I wish that they could’ve asked a composer like Thomas Newman to have done the music for this send-off to an incredible and invaluable character.

The people that want to quit watching....I'd understand if McGee wasn't there. But don't act like the show has been preparing for this these last few years. Cast changes happen, people quit jobs, and retire as life goes on.

Forensic Specialist Abigail (Abby) Sciuto 6. Very Special Agent Anthony (Tony) DiNozzo Junior 7. Medical Examiner, Dr Donald (Ducky) Mallard 8. Special Agent Eleanor (Ellie) Bishop (Bish) 9. Boss/ Gunny/ Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs. These 9 characters are what made NCIS what it is. A series can survive with one or two leaving, but a whole list of beloved characters is a death nail to a series. Just ask the show runners for the Walking Dead. When Ziva left I was miffed....when Tony left I was beyond saddened. When Abby and then Ducky left I had one foot out the door. Gibbs is the last straw. I might give McGee the benefit of the doubt for half a season then I'm probably out. It's not the same
Idk why they wanna keep the show going like this. Why not have Gibbs leaving in a big series finale, whith a big goodbye party and everyone alive coming back to celebrate and hug and end the cicle? Why take away the main character in the beggining of a season? The moment Mark asked to leave, should've been the moment they start to planned the end. With him.

they had said that cutting back his on-air time WOULD be a major part of S19. i still believe NCIS will go to S20 for its swan song.

That's the saddest and most beautiful way for the ending of Gibbs but again I do not see NCIS without the silver fox heading the team. RIP NCIS.
I agree I cant imagine it with out the silver fox at the helm...yet McGee is the son of the fox. Trained and grew under the watchful eye of Gibbs.
