    I have tried dermaflage many times but failed due to color match and applying with makeup. I bought it again to hide my hideous surgery scar on my nose from complication. I followed your suggestions and it worked!!! Thank you! You changed my life!

      I feel you! I have been told by 2 doctors (one a plastic surgeon!) that they can do nothing for my scars. One said if they do a punch incision, I will be left with THAT scar, and I literally said that I'd rather have a scar that is a line, than a pit. They said I just was not a candidate. So....when I discovered THIS, yeah...GAME OVER! 🤣👍 It takes some practice with Dermaflage but you will get it right. I am so glad this video helped you find an option. I couldn't have afforded the surgery ANYWAY, but I consulted just to see if I DID get it, how much it would be and how much $ to save up for! I tell parents of young people now to get their preteen or teen to the dermatologist if and when their acne starts so that teen can avoid the literal "pit" falls that happened to me. Girl, I'm here if you need help if you get the Dermaflage. I'll help you anyway I can! Good luck 🥰🤗

    If anyone has more rolling acne scars like I do, I’ve found that Dermaflage can help a lot. Especially over areas of the face that are scarred but are less “mobile” (such as just under the cheekbones). On larger scarred areas located on very mobile areas of the face I’ve found that dermaflage looks great until I smile…and then it’s quite noticeable because it “wrinkles”. So on these area I focus on using it as she did…placing product into ice pick scars.
    But a lot of my rolling scars are on less mobile areas of my face , which allows me to use dermaflage over a larger area of skin. I spread a very thin layer of dermaflage to the scarred and non-mobile area using as little product as possible and targeting the worst and most noticeable areas. I put it on top of my makeup but before powdering. Let it dry and then powder using a micro finishing powder (the one I use is by makeup forever). Pat it on and then press it in using a beauty blender.

    I'm a walking scar... I've been looking at fillers for quite a while now and NONE of them actually work because mine are so deep, or the area too large and deep. Yay for parents that think a pocketknife replaces a dermatologist, right? I'm about to buy this and try it, but I was avoiding it until I could figure out how to make it work over foundation and not shine or look like scotch tape stuck to my face, you fixed that! Now I do have ONE question: I see you applying primer only into the scar itself and a tiny, and I mean tiny bit around it. I realize as I'd get more comfortable applying it and knowing how much to use, I could do that too, but if it does ''spread'' out past the primered area, will it peel up? I don't want to waste it and would rather over-primer than waste product. And by the way, thank you for sharing! I know it's not easy, especially for someone so gorgeous to show those ''flaws'' up close and uncovered. Those of us struggling with much larger areas of concern really appreciate you doing that for us!

    • @NowonBeauty
      @NowonBeauty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Thank you for your kind comments ❤ Oh yes, you can spread the primer out further if you'd like, to ensure all edges of the Dermaflage are sealed down. The Primer dries completely undetected...so no problem there. You will find, as you practice, you need a lot less of the Dermaflage product than you think. Just get that silicone pad on as quickly as possible to avoid shine. Then, yes! Follow my little tips for makeup and you'll be good to go! BTW.. usually in the Starter Kit, they include a bag of "mixing tips" which you can attach to the syringe and it mixes the product for you. I would suggest NOT using those, as you will waste a lot of product. Mix it by hand. Let me know how everything goes if you do get it!!! ❤❤❤❤

    I hope dermaflage stays in business forever. I heard a lot of complaints about it in the past and it sounded like they were really suffering at a lost as a business. But dermaflage is really the only product that looks skin like that works as a topical filler. I’ve seen people use scar wax but that stuff rubs off easily. My scar is right in between my brows and that spot is so dead center on the face that you really need a product that looks believable like skin to conceal it

    • @NowonBeauty
      @NowonBeauty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree! I think a lot of the flack they get is from Amazon customers, TBH. People not taking the time to practice and thinking it's like a makeup product or is easy like putting concealer on. That's why I made my videos because I wanted people to see it really works but you need someone to explain the process. #dermaflagefan ❤❤❤✌🏻

    This product is great but you have to remember that some people are allergic to latex and in that case exposure to latex on the skin can cause a deadly latex allergy.A safer option for anyone out there who is allergic to latex is to mix white glue (white glue dries stretchy and resembles silicone when dry) and cheap dollar store face powder with the white glue to create a safe,latex free version of this product.

    • @NowonBeauty
      @NowonBeauty  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your information. This is silicone, not latex. Silicone is a safe option for those allergic to latex because they are two completely different materials. However, yes, if someone is allergic to SILICONE, they should not use Dermaflage. The glue idea is interesting but that would not be waterproof, like Dermaflage. But if that glue idea works for you, that's awesome!

      If you start at about 6 minutes in, you will see I use their Primer, which is designed for oily skin or as in my case, if you are wearing over foundation.
      As for your scars being all over, have you tried Dermarolling? For me, I have several places that are scarred but there are 2 principal places directly on my cheeks. Dermaflage works best when used for spot coverage, as in, you probably don't want to use it over your entire face. HOWEVER!.... They do have a video on their YT Channel of a woman using it on her entire cheek! It's impressive! I have not tried that. All I can suggest honestly from my heart is if you have areas on your face that REALLY bother you, Dermaflage WILL help. But you need to really play with it and practice. Don't give up! Their customer service is really nice. Don't be shy to call or email them and ask 💘

  • @pookoos
    @pookoos 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm wondering three things. First, when you're actually being looked at by someone close up, say at an outdoor gathering in bright sunlight, can the fills be seen easily? Second, is there a technique where this might be able to work for lots of enlarged pores? And third, does it ever start to peel up if you smile or move your face?

    • @NowonBeauty
      @NowonBeauty  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All great questions! First Answer - No! You cannot see this in direct sunlight at all. It is actually semi-transparent. I have worn this outside in full sun, looked at it from every angle, asks friends, no one could see anything. Second Answer- I tried on an area with enlarged pores and no, it doesn't really work. You could probably take the time to put the tiniest amount in each pore, but honestly, I felt it didn't work. It spreads to much outside of the pore. Third Answer- This is a silicone product used in film and special FX. It stretches and creases with your face. It will NOT peel up at all unless you pick at it or do not correctly seal down the edges during the "curing" process with the silicone pad. Hope this helps! It takes a bit of practice, honestly. But if you watch several videos or skip past my exhaustive intro, you will see it really does work. People use it to fill in those wrinkles between the eyes and the Dermaflage moves with their facial expressions and doesn't then lift up afterwards. I still stick by this product being the ONLY thing that fills my ice pick scars.

My husband just out of the blue told me i needed to do something about it and it really hurt my feelings. I was just wondering if this product would be what i needed to use for the type of scars that i have and because of the location of the scars I'm wondering if it would rub off underneath my clothes. Thanks again!

      Oh, I am so sorry that you had to deal with that and that your feelings were hurt. But good for you for kicking the habit! If your scars are indented scars, this will work. It will stay under clothing, no problem. I can say this because I've fallen asleep with it on and slept on that side of my face and it didn't budge! But you MUST get their Primer liquid that is NOT included in the Starter Kit. That stuff makes it STAY! I hope this helps answer your questions ❤

    Do you have any experience using dermaflage with airbrush makeup? I just ordered this product and I am SO excited to use it! I'm getting married in August and my makeup artist uses airbrush. Any recommendations on if I should apply before or after? My scar is on my forehead right in between my eyes, so I'm very anxious to see how this will cover up my scar since I'm very self conscious about it! Thanks!

    • @NowonBeauty
      @NowonBeauty  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kristen Pernice... First off, CONGRATULATIONS on your upcoming marriage 💕 !! To answer your question, honestly, I have no experience using airbrush makeup with Dermaflage PERSONALLY...However, I have HEARD it works great. I was trying to find exactly where I read that but I can't find it right now. Therefore, my suggestion is to you is to really PRACTICE with the Dermaflage. You need to read the directions fully and then play with it. THEN.... work closely with your MUA who will be doing your airbrush makeup. Normally, you should have a trial day with your MUA before your wedding. I believe I read that you should apply the Dermaflage before the airbrushing (and IMO, maybe a touch after using the airbrushing). This is a special FX product and I know in film, they do a lot of airbrushing. Essentially, try the product with your MUA testing it under or over the makeup. What I DO know for sure is, YOU need to familiarise yourself with Dermaflage and not rely on your MUA to apply it for you because this will change your life and you will want to use it for more than your wedding day. Good luck, love! 💕💕💕💕

    • @NowonBeauty

      Great question! Couple things... If you live in the US and get the wrong color from Dermaflage, they will exchange it free of charge. If you don't want to do that, you could try stamping over the area with a makeup brush with literally as little foundation as humanly possible. But keep in mind if you go in heavy over the Dermaflage, you're going to see the patch. I hope this helps in some way. Can you explain a little more? Did you get a color too light or too dark? Too pink or too yellow? Let me know.

      I totally understand. Many people who have a lot of scars still use Dermaflage, but you would go through so much product. But, I have seen it done! Not with a spatula, but mark by mark. Have you ever tried the newer treatments for scars? Like medical procedures? Laser, etc? I tried a round of chemical peels and light therapy and it did NOT do anything for my scars. It's tough. I actually have more than just one... but I have to fill one by one. That's just how Dermaflage works best.

      @@kath5018 The procedures are SUPER expensive. With Dermaflage, you don't want to put makeup over the top of it because it is a silicone product and will grab on to your foundation and will look like a patch. You will be able to see it on your face. That is why it is best to try your hardest to fill each mark. You can use a mineral powder over it.

      You really should not use it on the areas that are not scarred. The best way to use this is just IN the actual scar. If you use the Dermaflage Primer, it will not lift. Great review 👍🏻 I am curious though, why apply after? This seems like a base product. Does liquid foundation react badly over it?

    • @NowonBeauty
      @NowonBeauty  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Anna! Yes, unfortunately, if you do not use a mineral POWDER foundation underneath, it doesn't look so great. I don't like using a powder. For me, my acne scars are directly where I put my blush/contour/bronzer. So I HAD to find a way to be able to use Dermaflage in those areas using my normal makeup...as in, not leaving those spots without blush, etc. But if you have scars that are in less conspicuous places, it works great because you don't need makeup to cover it at all! I really struggled to find a way to share how to use this because I know so many out there shy away from Dermaflage BECAUSE it "doesn't work with a liquid foundation." But in fact, with some finessing, it does. I hope this helps. Yes I agree, it DOES seem like a base, but in fact, since the product is "clear" or "transparent", what's underneath will show through, hence, me really, REALLY needing to share how to make this work if you have blush underneath, etc. Also, even when I applied the Bare Minerals powder foundation OVER the Dermaflage, it turns very pale. You can definitely see something over the "patch." It's not an easy product to use but with practice, it will change EVERYTHING that you struggle with. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I hope I have helped answer your question. Bisous!

    • @bellegraves
      @bellegraves 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the explanation! I think you just saved me 40 dollars. I’m guessing since it’s transparent, and you can’t use foundation over it, it’s not going to work terribly well for my deep piercing scars. Especially since they’re in a very conspicuous area, near my mouth. Bummer.

      No, not really. It is a silicone product and if you put liquid foundation directly over it, it will show. It seems, logically, that that would work, but it doesn't. Being that it is silicone, it stretches and moves with your face, but it is a type of like "patch". It will gather foundation on it and you will see the "patch." I prefer to do my makeup first, then the Dermaflage. It works better that way IMO. ❤

      Have you played at all with how much product you are using? I'm wondering if that would make a difference. Hi Dbky Here! Thank you for watching. I understand your "pain" with your scar, especially in that place, like mine...the blush area. The syringes have plenty of product in them. There are several applications' worth in each, depending on the size of your scar. You surely don't need to use as much as you think. As for moisturizer and blush, etc., apply just like you normally do! Apply the Dermaflage after you are completely done with all your makeup. For the correct adherence, you must use the primer which is sold separately than the Starter Kit. This primer essentially cleans the area of "oils." Then apply the Dermaflage and I wait 2 minutes before lifting off the silicone pad. Hope this helps. Let me know if you get it to try and how you get along with it. @@nch8024 I would not suggest using this on a scar that is raised. This only works on indented scars. As far as another layer of skin on your hand, I don't know. However, I do know this is special FX makeup used to create all kinds of looks. So it is probably possible! It is silicone!

      Hi! Thank you! Yes, you can, but you MUST use the Primer on the area AFTER you have applied moisturizer. Essentially, this product will not stick to surfaces with oils or creams. The Primer will take off the moisturizer and prep the area for adherence of the silicone.

      @@amazinguniverse8119 If you use a mineral powder foundation, you can apply the Dermaflage directly over it, because mineral powder foundations usually don't contain a lot of oil. I have not personally tried this because I only use liquid foundation, but according to their site, it can be used like this. If I were you, I would try it both ways to see which works best for you. FOR ME, I use regular powder blush, bronzer, and face powder, so I apply all my makeup normally, THEN use the primer directly in the area I plan on putting the Dermaflage, then do the Dermaflage, then with whatever is left over on my brushes that I used for bronzer, blush and face powder, I lightly stamp over the Dermflage area. But it all depends on where your scars are located. If they are in a place on your face where you only wear foundation, you can apply your foundation normally, use their Primer on the scar, then apply the Dermaflage. I hope this helps a little? Let me know. I am always happy to help you

      Hey Angela! Glad you found it helpful. I have never left it on past just for the day, but it IS waterproof and doesn't come off just washing your face using your hands. As for covering a larger area, it really is best to use this in individual ice pick scars as much as possible. Like... you wouldn't necessarily want to use it on your normal, "flat" skin because the point is to fill the scars. I hope this helps! Let me know how you like it when you get it! i have scars around my eye area but i use makeup around my eyes so i was a little confussed on how you was able use make up with the dermaflage. Did you use liquid foundation underneath or over?

    • @NowonBeauty
      @NowonBeauty  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used my normal liquid foundation underneath. THEN, after the Dermaflage has "dryed" or become less tacky to the touch, I go over it again with my normal liquid foundation but in a stamping or stippling motion using whatever is left over on my foundation brush (or if you use a makeup sponge...same difference). I finish off with a bit of powder lightly dusted over the area. NORMALLY, Dermaflage suggests using only powder foundations. Personally, I am not a fan of powder foundation. So like you, being that my scars are in a conspicuous place, I tried using it with a liquid underneath. It IS POSSIBLE! If you watch the tutorial, you will see how I use it step by step. Let me time stamp it for you here because I realize it's a long video. Begin at 8 minutes, 30 seconds. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help!!!

      Dermaflage will never stick to skin that is not 100% clean. So, if you want to do it like I do, you must put your makeup on, then take it off with the Primer liquid from Dermaflage. Put the Dermaflage on, then softly touch up your makeup over the Dermaflage. Or...you can put the Dermaflage on, makeup free, and then sort of work around it. Dermaflage is silicone so it will grab on to makeup really fast, but it also will not adhere to the skin if makeup is already present. It won't adhere to oils or ANYTHING that we normally have in our foundations or concealers.

      @@iswaryalakshmi1307 Yes, Dermaflage suggests mineral powder will work OVER the Dermaflage. But like I said, you must put the Dermaflage on completely bare, clean skin, or it will not stick. It's so awful dealing with acne scars. Believe me, I know. Honestly?....Dermaflage MAY NOT be your best solution. Just keeping it real becauae it really depends on what you've got going on. But it DOES work for deeper ice pick scars, etc. Hey girl, no one is perfect, not in magazines, Hollywood, or TH-cam. We are our own worst enemies. Thank you for such a sweet reply. I have scars all over my face and neck. It looks like I got stabbed over and over with a tooth pick on my cheeks and neck.
      They are tiny DEEP little holes.
      I never noticed how bad they are until last summer when a friend had called me out face. I noticed wearing makeup makes them show up more for some crazy reason. I have always had cystical acne.
      I could never afford a dermatologist.
      So now I am stuck with all the scars.
      i started using MSM cream, mederma, rosehip oil and a serum to care for my scars daily. I also have a genital face wash gel. I never had a daily regiment for scars besides just washing.
      I just turned 30 and the damage is pretty much done to myface. It's horrible...
      Thank you I had fun the day I took my picture. I did a 90s look on face book.

      Amber Rose ...So you say you think the scars seem worse with makeup. Is that because you see the shadow of the hole? As in like, the makeup doesn't reach down far enough into the holes?
      As an aside... not to shame your friend but if you didn't really notice them until she graciously pointed them out, that makes me sad. It's those old tapes that play in our heads that we can't stop. But answer my question about why they look worse with makeup. I may have a trick up my sleeve to help you ❤

    • @ricciamber
      @ricciamber 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My makeup sits on my skin surface. The scars are below the surface. So it looks like you took a tooth pick and poked threw layers of skin. I notice it all the time in pics and videos. So I do everything in low lighting or with a filter.

To be honest (and I've stated the same in my subsequent videos about Dermaflage) that I don't wear it anymore. I felt free after just making this video. They don't bother me as much anymore! Weird. However, my biggest wish is to just let people know that if they ARE super self-conscious about their scars, there is something that will help them. Because I UNDERSTAND how that feels. Again, thank you for your words of wisdom and I hope your comment helps others see themselves as beautiful anyway. ❤❤
