Just beautiful... it makes me want to waltz, but it's crushingly sad at the same time. I think it's one Mr. Unger's best works, and this is truly a wonderful performance. Thank you both.
I literally have tears rolling down my cheeks. I am in awe. This was so evocative and beautiful. Words cannot describe the emotion this made me feel! Bravo! Encore!
Thank you both for this. Sincerely. Every day life grants us our moments here and there to truly glimpse what makes it worth while. This nearly 6 minute snapshot into your art and your passions were that moment for me today. Please, keep doing what you're doing for as long as you truly love what you do. :)
fantastic! you drew out the notes and slowed it down but gave it the syncopation to keep the sense of movement. the added climactic motif is also a wonderful addition as well. brings out the guitar and rounds out the peace emotionally for the audience
I want to Cry like a baby every time I hear this...makes me think of my great grandPa and his 2 brothers who fought in at least 10 major engagements from 1862 To 1865 in the 10th Tennessee Confederate Cavalry.
Beautiful interpretation of this tune, you can hear the mournful Scottish lament roots of this tune, marvellous. Faodaidh tu a 'cluinntinn na h-Alba cumha freumhan ann an fonn àlainn seo
@@alan4sure ....no one is denying that. The point being made is that the roots of American country music (especially Appalachian ) are heavily influenced by Scots/Irish culture. This lament being a typical example. Just as American jazz/blues/rock&roll all have their roots in African rythms.
@@gregorykousourou3543 Yeah, you're right about that. Too bad American pop music doesn't come from Scots/Irish culture ---God knows where it comes from, but I know I can't stand much of that crap. Much of an entire younger generation has been force-fed that swill and they lap it up now. Sad.
So lovely. This tune is so hauntingly beautiful. I've been trying to perfect it on my harmonica in the key of D. But never will I get such feeling as you both did right there, but I'm working on it. ;-)
My favorite playing of it. Their version of it is used in the 9/11 video “The People Of 9/11.” In it, there is a picture of a beautiful, elegantly dresses, black lady. Completely covered in ash. It took a few years, I have read, but it killed her. I will always see that picture and hear this song.
Exceptional, again. Like the addition of Doc's break on the guitar. Have you considered having someone sing or even speak the words during the playing of this song? Terrific ending!!! You just keep getting better and better!!
I love them playing this song, they play it like the lament that it is....just hauntingly beautiful. I can't hear this song without tears flowing.
At my dad’s funeral my daughter and nieces played and sang in harmony this song - so tender and Southern like.
This lady is simply the best. I can feel every note. What a talent.
Such a beautiful version of one of the best , most beautiful songs ever written!

Wonderful , haunting rendition . Just the way it should be. You guys are really great!!!
This rendition of Ashokan Farewell is so beautiful had it been played in 1861 it would have stopped the Civil War
believe it or but we had this played at our wedding, it was a supprise from my wife to me as she walked down the church

I have been playing this for 18 years but I cannot put the feeling into it like you guys do. Unbelievable!! Fantastic!!
How could so much talent and beauty be invested in just one woman? Seems inordinate, but the results are fantastic.
Absolutely wonderful. It is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes.
Beautifully played. Gives me goose bumps every time I hear it. Thank you.

You make the angels cry, it's so beautiful.

Doc and the Lady at top of their form, great sound.
All I can say is WOW! You guys have really improved in the last two years. I wish you God's best.
A lovely rendition....absolutely stunning!

It was written in America by an American though.

Your previous version was awesome, this simply sublime :-)
Best cover of the song :)
Wow, you did that song justice. Very well played. Reminds me of my grandfather playing. What gym are you playing in?
Magnificent.
beautiful
Superb!!
So cool.
It's just not fair somehow that anyone should be a talented as Kelly and so pretty too.
Oh Durango, my winter retreat, where three glasses of wine will put you in the street at 6,000 ft
Tearful 😢
More enjoyable than listening to poetry that doesn't rhyme and of assorted line length with no meter to it.
All of them survived the war , one lost a leg at Brandy Station and they all lived in the rural Memphis area well into their 80s.
:))
Unglaublisch
