    I have seen you explain your Patent #66664 before, and I love it. Smooth effortless triplets have always been illusive for me (we're the same age) over the years. When I first found you, I started incorporating your Method into practice. I can attest, this is a great way to improve your fluidity....even for an old dog. RIP Taylor.....the real deal. Thanks Terry....again.

    Hi Terry, I wanted to say thanks again for that triplet breakdown. Specific the relation to the Shuffle And also very important is the practice of that breakdown between the K and FT or any combination of the others S & Tom, etc something I was neglecting. Rock my friend!!👍🏼✌🏼🤞🏼

    Triangulating the triplet. That's very clever. You have a great teaching method. Good stuff!
    Good of you to mention Taylor Hawkins. Drumming brotherhood. I remember you mentioned how you were a fan of his playing here on the channel. Very sad news. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

    Thanks for your time you are the triplet king .you make me want to go down to my drum room an practice. However bc I'm right handed damit man it's hard for me to get that left hand lead going ,but it does sound better to me . That an keeping time with the hi-hat the way most jazz drummers do including George . It just makes everything sound more full. Anyway thanks again for the inspiration 🤘🤟✌

  • @JFKDrummer
    @JFKDrummer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I feel your pain! I'm right handed lead and recently started trying left handed lead triplets,not easy!

  • @billbimson2408
    @billbimson2408 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yep, Triangulation is a great exercise, thanks. I normally keep time with the hi-hat on the 1 of the triplet. I tried doing the hi hat every 4 beats instead of 3 and that is really hard, but still a good exercise. An exercise that made me feel like I was having a stroke was to do the 1 and 2 between the left hand and left leg. I found that unbelievably difficult and something that is worth trying. I am right handed. Prayers to Taylor's family and the Foo Fighters. He really was one of the best.

    Love Townshend's _White City_ album. I don't know many people who ever listened to it, but I should've known you might be one. "Give Blood" is probably my favorite track on there. Simon Phillips is truly inspiring on that album. I don't know why it isn't more well known.

    • @DavePeters1
      @DavePeters1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A bloody fantastic album. Such a spectrum of solid compositions. I suggest it is Pete's strongest solo work. But as Marcus Aurelius would suggest, all is opinion. Additionally, the first minute and 45 seconds of _I Am Secure_ is quite suitable for doing any number of The Uptight White Guy Dance® variations while busying about the house.

    I do them FLR naturally. Maybe as I’m right handed and left footed, although I do play the kick right footed.

  • @anemicroyalty8764
    @anemicroyalty8764 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have the opposite problem. Even though I’m right handed I got into the habit of doing left-hand lead, and that’s the only way I can do it, I can’t do RLR at all.
    I also still can’t move it around the kit for crap, I have to just stick to only Snare-Floor Tom-Bass.
    Could you possibly do a video on this @Bonzoleum?

  • @mikehalpern1439
    @mikehalpern1439 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thankyou for breaking down the triplets.. I'm sort of married to the RLF- or FRL- but I will incorporate the different variations of the 1-2.. I'm alittle weaker with the L hand lead so hope it's ok to stick with the R hand lead.. Kind of like a Salsa dancer who is used to on1, and now has to switch to on2- but you guys don't know bout all that...😊

    Love the triplets Terry! I'm way more comfortable with playing them RLK, but have been working on my LRK too, as well as the crossover triplets, but am only about 4 bpm on that one! 🤣 Also, that snare is crackin' Terry. If you ever decide to sell that, let me know. RIP Taylor Hawkins, sad loss of a great drummer.

    I went back and found one of your vids about going around the kit with the left arm only.
    I've been doing this and it helps with triplets to.
    With the foot video you posted about doing the 50's beat with the 'heartbeat' on the bass drum.....
    My right hand wants to follow the kick.
    Can you do a video on separating the right hand from the right foot.
    I need something that starts 🐌 slow.
