I noticed that in the books, there were several more Tyrells than in the show. Loras Margery had two brothers, Willa’s and Garlan and a cousin Leo at the Citidel. I guess they consolidated the others two brothers with Loras for the show.
Every great family in got has so many distant cousins who can take up the rule of that house if the main branch is extinguished, the series didn't do it so because of budget I think
The 3 cousins were best friends to Sansa and Margaery was like a big sister to her in the books. They all seemed to genuinely enjoy her company until Tyrion married Sansa and the cousins ignored Sansa like the plague. Margaery did give the girl a sad look but nothing else. But I think Olenna told them to ghost Sansa because she was intent on framing her later.
Loras Tyrell and his brother were actually very few very honorable characters in ASOIAF. It sucks that the tv series only focuses on Loras' homosexuality and removes his brother.

they cant...they hold power because taegaryeans put them there. once targaryeans are gone, other houses in the reach are aiming for their position as lord paramount. even the florents wanted to stake a claim there. they have to partner up with someone. they lost their biggest protector and they know other major houses just don't respect them because of their loyalty to targaryeans. they had no choice. by pairing up with lannisters, other houses in the reach will not be so brave to fight them.
@@endor8witch Maybe at first, as time went by they grew to respect them. The Tyrells spend centuries marrying into the other houses of the Reach. Mace' wife is a Hightower and his mother is a Redwyne. They could hold the Reach with those two houses alone.

I liked all the Tyrells that were shown in the show except for Mace of course. Olenna was funny with her sassiness, along with being cunning and ambitious like in the books and Margaery was more manipulative, extremely intelligent, and ambitious but also showed herself to have a genuine empathetic, kindhearted, caring side to her as well I believe. Loras may have been a gay stereotype but he was also genuinely chivalrous and respectful too.

Firstly, I am a huge fan of your videos. Now please make a history of house Frey video. No house has more internal conflict or external disdain. I also buy into the big walder murdered little walder theory just havent deduced why.
Looking forward to see the fate of House Tyrell in Winds of Winter. In the last book they were a family on the move, Kevan Lannister had allowed them to move into some key positions. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Golden Company, the Martels, and the Faith Militant still moving.
I just hope the Tyrell name at least keeps going, even though I think Garlan, Loras, Margaery, and Mace will die. I hope Willas, Alerie and some Tyrell cousins stay alive so the house can stay active in the end.
I think the tyrells only besieged storms end to insure a more or less harmless outcome in case of a rebel victory. I mean they probably knew if they would try to storm the castle stannis and renly would probably die and Robert would be pissed about that

other houses bitch about how they shouldve gotten Highgarden, yet those same house fought with the Gardeners whereas the Tyrells and Hightowers didnt. they expected to be rewarded in spite of their defiance
I believe the Hightowers should just have been made lords paramount, they are the second most powerful house, they can field three times as much as any tyrells bannermen
The tyrells were a piece of shit house who Swindled the gardeners out of there position at the reach by convincing them to fight a war they knew they couldn’t win just for them to bend the knee and take there place
They may have done that but the Tyrells wanted to rule with love and compassion rather than fear. They may have been ambitious, manipulative, cunning, and greedy for power but they rarely showed any cruelty towards anyone and not many of their schemes put anyone in danger. Even when Olenna framed Sansa for Joffrey’s murder. She probably helped Littlefinger plan her escape when formulating the plan, meaning that despite her mainly befriending her for her claim to the North, she did want her to be safe and happy a little. And Margaery did give Renly and Loras no hate for having a relationship and even allowed them to do whatever they wanted with each other so long as Renly found a way to get her pregnant. Even if their kindness and smiles were fake regarding the smallfolk, they would’ve still been great rulers because they gave to the people what they needed and wanted instead of killing them. Even after Margaery became queen alongside Joffrey and Tommen, they never stopped giving the smallfolk food, clothing, and other resources. Their schemes almost always resulted in everyone gaining something they needed and wanted and made everyone happy and safe and not just themselves. Like a win win solution to be precise.
Olenna Tyrell was bad ass. Despite marrying into the family, she totally ruled with an iron fist and very sharp tongue.
I miss Lady Olenna. Wish she was my grandma.
