Can you advise me if you have been told that Wharfedale will only be supplying these new speakers with stands and speakers as a package ie you cannot buy them as new speakers only ?
Will it perform better than Linton 85 with GR Research Crossover? What capacitors are used in super Linton? the one used to be in the Linton 85 tweeter circuit?
Aren't you mixing up the figures and numbers for bass extension here? Compared to the Linton 85, the F3 went from 40 to 39 Hz, and F6 from 35 to 32 Hz. You're making it sound like the F3 went from 40 to 32, which is misleading.
@induction7895 Yeah, I just saw too. Wonder what's going at Wharfedale, they did give rather accurate figures for the original 85. Not so this time, it seems. These new ones have a very different low bass response, looks like.
We just looked into this and yes, we made a mistake when making this video and said the wrong numbers. That is our fault and we understand how misleading that sounds. We appreciate you pointing this out and we will be making a note in the description for the correction! It went from 40 to 39 and 35 to 32 as you said. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention!
My Advice To Anyone Who Is Thinking Of Buying These Speakers Is To Listen To The Marillion And The Positive Light Cd "Tales From the Engine Room" Through Them. And Take Your Credit Card With You To Audio Advice, Because You'll Need it To Buy These Amazing Speakers.
Wharfedale, It is 2024 in case U hadn't Noticed ! ... WHY are U ''Still'' using those UGLY 'Pegs' for the Front Grills? You used Magnetic Grills on the new Super Denton's. so WHY not on these new Linton's ? I would have purchased a pair of Linton's years ago but, U guessed it ... I didn't ... Just Because of those 'PEGS' ! ! ! ... Maybe Next Time, eh ! ?
Love the retro look!
We do too!
Wharfedale now selling at Audio Advice?! How cool!
Yes, thanks!
Hey kids the upgrade path from Linton 85 > Dovedale not Linton 85 > Super Linton.
Wonder how they compare to the 85th anniversary
They are much better, the 85th is pretty similar to the Linton. Thanks for watching
Hello would these speakers work well with the new NAD 3050 Intergrated Amp ? Thank-you
That would be a good match!

Those would work very well together. Thanks for watching
@ glad to hear it thank you !
Have a pair of RED Mahogany Lintons with the matching stands. Are the Super Lintons also available in RED Mahogany or just the basic mahogany? Thanks
It is just called Mahogany. Thanks for watching
I'm very interested in these but... there's a new Cure album?? I have to check that out!
Please do
I wonder how they compare to vintage ADS L780/2 speakers.
Wow, that is a 40 year old flashback!
@@AudioAdvice Yes, and I would like to know how the modern-retro classic compares to the authentic-retro classic.

Erin measured F3 at around 70 hz.

Yeah noticed this flat out lie.
@audioadvice are you able to comment here? Was in incorrect to say bass extensions went from 40hz to 32hz?

Wow, thanks for sharing! We will have to try that cut.
There's nothing "super" about non-magnetic grilles at this price point 😢
Thanks for the feedback
They are way better this way to protect from the children :)
@@is3commander so if it was a magnetic grill, your children would take them off and mess with the drivers?
@@mocomike01 magnetic usually are way easier to remove. One touch to the twitter the sound will be never the same.
😂 odd comment
