@NesteHukka2 I think it would not be good...it was over center.I get what they did. They let the load down from flipped cane, and let that crane down EASY with the second crane, very smart!
As he booms in the weight goes back to the counterweight, however you are probably right looking at it again. I have had straight picks get my ars up in those cases winching down or booming in slowly will bring your ars down.
Actually, if you lay the boom out too much, its easier than one might think to lift off the back outriggers. The angle is important/ Trigonometry baby!
@carbomb47 I think he feared he might puncture the container, there is already a "little" ding in it. But if he was able to boom in (provided it wasn't damaged) and lower the block at the same time, he could possibly right the crane.
Haha great comment theclod... and totally, true I really dont think they have hired the right crane company to shift those silos... Nice to see the guy scaling the boom of the crane that seems to have attempted popping a wheelie minus harness, hard hat, hi-viz etc etc... I guess the shipping industry was the wrong business to go into for health and safety... I am gonna learn to drive a crane instead. :-)
@NesteHukka2 Once it's up, Leave it up, till you can get something to stop it from slamming onto the ground with it's multitude of tonnes. If you let it slam, You may as well kiss the chassis and the suspension goodbye, and sell the crane as scrap.
I suppose the guy climbing the boom thought "Well with the shit this has caused, I'm preety sure me not wearing full PPE will be overlooked"...not realsing he's now on TH-cam. Oh, and sacked the morning after this came out.
This one is surely operator error, there are no pieces laying on the ground. The jib is stowed, and there is no obvious bend in the boom. So some leaver heaver tried to be a hero instead of telling the customer he needed a larger crane. Then again maybe the bigger crane was not availabe till it had to be called off another job.
THEY,VE DONE THIS BEFORE.....AND THERE IS SOME HEALTH AND SAFETY OBSERVED LOOK ...SOMEBODY FOOTS THE LADDERS FOR THE RIGGERS...... PICKED A FEW UP MYSELF AN HAD THE GROUND GO BENEATH ME TOO MANY TIMES. TO COUNT.........BUT ALWAYS DROVE IT HOME.....THERES HEALTH AND SAFETY AND THERES EXPERIENCE...I,D HAPPILY WORK WITH THESE GUYS ANYTIME
is there a law against hardhats, safety vests and harness's ? "oh yea im gonna wear all natural colors so i stick out" no wonder the fukin crane flopped

So smart so intense , this man is an old school operator. Gongats from Greece !

Schwertrans Enns....
Ging aus dem Kern aus Linz an der Donau hervor. Gibt es mittlerweile auch nicht mehr...
i suppose the hard hat and hi-vis would in some way help if you fell?
Good work to the second crane! But like the other ppl say... where are the helmet and safe equipment while climbing in the first crane? crazy....

@@Kranfuehrerprofi1972 except the workers and their loved ones!!!
Looks like it is a case of too much boom for the crane.
Have heard never about balance weight? It is never done only with legs.
kudos to the operator who got into the cab to retract the boom
Ich wohne 5km von den unfall ort entfernt , geil das hab i aber net gewusst ;-) schoarf
why is the date shown in the video (March 2008) later than the upload date (Oct 2007)??
its standing on its tip-toes for a better reach right?
no health and safety for two worker on the disable crane. halmet and safety ropes etc. i hope they got life insurance.
Great clip! Well done.
That concrete tower is a bit heavy for the crane
Can't the boom warp?
And if so the hydralics can be damaged.

the helmet wont protect u when the crane is falling towards your direction =D
@RC9650
Give it lots of fish. Or... say thank you. Either will due as tips.
Glück im Unglück!
not sure beeping your horn is gonna get him to move.
@JeemeJemes
Nein, da deine Einsamkeit sicherlich einen guten Grund hat...
Könnte mir mal bitte jemand erklären, warum der Kran so stand? Hing da was Überschweres am Haken? Ich erkenn' es einfach nicht.
Kranplätze müssen verdichtet sein!
They need to get a bigger crane to move those silos.
good job !! :-)

ohohoh was da die GB wohl zu gesagt hätte^^
Yeah just think of all the money they saved by getting a non-union crane operator.
None of this crew was wearin' short pants on the job.
Never is bad to wear some safe equipment.

@df71091 they probably were not bragging about it

Who says two negatives can't make a positive? One crane fails, use another to fix it. Simple.
