i used to work on the copper mines, in chile, we used that kind of cranes in there, the cranes in there were bigger, but we used 2 at the same time, we lifted very heavy structures, heavier than the crane itself, omg, those were good times :)
To all those who haven't run a crane the motto is if you can't boom up the load don't lift it. And as far as winch power versus boom power the boom has the rated strength of more than the winch
Of course the boom has to hold the load, but the boom is fully static. The winch does the lifting. In other words: the boom is the bone, the winch is the muscle. Do you agree?
Seems to me like they need a crane in the center of the construction yard but they don´t have a road down there so they need to lift the crane down there. I work in construction and we have done similar tasks every now and then.
We cant compare the nation of engineers, cuz brazilians, japaneses, and another enginers are traveling around the world looking for new experiences and new courses, trainings... We have good enginers in brazil, but the country of enginering creation are the German... Good cranes, good miscelania, and another things are coming from there. @flipfloptk in germany i havent seen many big buildings... maybe thats cus i live in a lil town there but i dont know why u would need a 100 meter crane for a two story building... yeah... OH i think ive seen one.... when we drove to berlin
