The Buxton, Correa, Lewis trio is so underwhelming

Correa was never the move for a franchise that limits payroll. The Pohlads are incompetent.

Remember when Sano and Buxton were top prospects? Imagine if we had traded them both. Imagine the haul of guys we could’ve gotten back. If Royce Lewis gets super hot, we should trade him for several top prospects. He’s never gonna stay healthy. Let’s at least try to dump him while his value is high.

The reality is there is no way to replace Buxton right now, there's limited options in free agency for a full time Centerfielder.

E Rodriguez in center in 2025 and jettison Larnach, Kiriloff, Julien, Martin and in a salary dump, Vazquez, who is making more than Ryan or Lewis . Walker should be brought up in September. Keaschall should start at 2b with Correa at ss, Wallner in rf, Lee at 3b, Lewis at DH. LF ? Maybe Buxton if he’s not traded. 1B? Who knows. I’d give Miranda one more year to turn it around. Castro will be too expensive after arbitration, trade him for a reliever. Let Manuel, Santana and Kepler walk. Non-tender Dobnak. 😮
If you could get value for Duran, trade him for a major league ready 1b. He is the sole valuable trade chip, even if he did have an ERA around 5 for the last couple of months.

@@Razorbacks1Rodriguez is the September call up, he's never seen major league pitching. Martin is the replacement for farmer, the Twins don't have many options there. I don't mind dumping larnach but who's his replacement. Kirilloff needs to be nonetendered, no argument there. The Twins should trade Duran and acala, the whole bullpen needs to be revamped behind Jax. You're right, Castro and Julien should also be traded, I just worry about the return the Twins get with fail-vey in charge. Bader is the best option to replace Buxton but that's still gonna cost ten million, see my point?

Yes to ERod in center. People argue about service time and bringing guys up too soon, but I’m ready for a complete youth overhaul. Remember when the Twins brought up Jacque Jones, Torii Hunter and co? Let’s just do that. Trade the vets and play the young guys.

Here is the question in retrospect would you have signed him to the extension? My answer is a hard NO they have way too much money tied up in a guy that can’t stay on the field. He is not a bad player but it’s too much salary to spend on the IL. The twins would be in a better place building out the roster with that money. If the team isn’t going to be a high payroll organization they need to be smarter about how that allocate salary. So would trade him just for some roster flexibility.

Trading Buxton would signify that we're rebuilding and then you might as well start looking at trading some other key pieces too. Unless they're there yet, I'm not myself. Buxton's contract is not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things. Also, I predicted the random Twin like 6ish minutes before the answer was guessed. Legend.

call him up depending on whom they could get in return or via other transactions,
Or just let Kiersy Jr play in CF to start 2025 let either guy get ABs but that’s only if they think Buxton can’t be healthy for a 100 games and or post season which I kind of feel like they don’t think he can by now.

@@clutchclaytvBuxton may be traded after the '26 season as that's when his no trade clause is up, in the meantime the Twins should put him in RF which hopefully keeps him off the IL and builds up Buxton's trade value. This also gives the Twins time to call up rookies for the outfield, I wish I had better ideas.

The Twins are a dumpster fire with idiot 2nd and 3rd generation owners trying to sell the team. Buxton would be a great fit on a perennial playoff team that has a chance to make a deep run, but what good is he on a team with paper thin pitching and half the team misses as many or more games than he does? This trade may not be the one but if you can talk him into waving his no trade clause at the trade deadline, you may be able to get young players that will help down the road when there is new ownership and a new president of baseball operations that can actually put together a winning team.
