    Browne doesn't like to play solos, but still has a better vibrato than most shredders!

    • @incitatus634
      @incitatus634 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Luke Morales to me the most important thing of a Lead player... just listen to Friedman or Becker and tell me that vibrato isn't the most important of all techniques!

      yeah man, I totally agree with you!

      Indeed. His solos are awesome, and I don't see why one would have any particular confidence issue in them. He's miles beyond being a better lead player than I am, for sure.

    Hearing you play in a thrash metal style makes me wonder why bands that sound similar (like The Big 4) seem to have worse production, even though they have access to almost infinite resources to get the best sounding records. It may just be preference, but to me it's no contest that your production is miles better.

      its a half a step down,this isn't really considered down tuning,
      drop c is down tuning bud,wow.if this was E standard 4-40 it
      would have the same identical bass feel guaranteed

    Hey John!
    Fantastic tone from this Mesa. I'm a bit more on a budget, and I know you have used Blackstar in the past. Would you have any recommendations for me as well as a cab to handle some of your 8 string tones?
    I know it's purely subjective, but I thought you would be able to give me some insight. Thanks sir.

    • @Mister47Gaming
      @Mister47Gaming 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hopefully not a bother for asking. I had to sell my lot of gear a while back due to financial reasons. Worked my arse off to get my family back on our feet, and after receiving my IRS taxes back, have about a $3k budget to get Gear and back to playing.

    • @jasonrightler6725
      @jasonrightler6725 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know you aren't asking me, but given your circumstance and interest in this tone profile, I would recommend getting a Single Recto 50-watt used from Reverb/Craigslist. $700-$800. Its incredible in the studio and live. Plus you can run EL34s if that's your thing. For sure this is a better choice than any Blackstar I've played. I did own a Stage 60 for awhile.

    • @Mister47Gaming
      @Mister47Gaming 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man, thanks so much for the input. I will check out Reverb and see what I can find. Just looking for something maybe 50 watts, enough to get over a drum set (hopefully) with a 2x12 cab. The reason I asked too, was I found an HT-50 half stack for $600 used so thought that may be a good idea.

    • @JohnBrownemonuments
      @JohnBrownemonuments  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The black star stuff is cool, but the Mesa has this hugeness to it that just can't be replicated.

    Hi mate. Been a long time fan! LOVED this tune! I got two questions if I may:
    1- What is the name of the band you say you are inspired with for this song? "The 80's"?
    2- I have a basic old iBanez guitar RG-270 DX-II and a Vox amp and a DS-2 distortion pedal but my distortion sound is very crappy. What's the cheapest way to achieve something similar to your sound? Is it the amp or the pickups? Thanks!

    • @ToyotaCamry-qz5cp

    Realised this is a fucking long one, sorry for that :')
    Love the tune. TC-50 is sick as well with the pandemonium pedal
    I have a few questions, maybe they could inspire you for a creation of a "about john browne" video or something :)
    Even though i see you go for an appealing and formal channel instead of a rather personal channel on youtube, which as a businessmodel makes a lot of sense. But you are a pretty big inspiration to other musicians and i am sure all your fans would love to know more about you.
    Who was your big inspiration, and to a young musician like me; How long did it take to manage such control? I mean, i love your downpick sound and for the past few months i have been practicing some of your songs from Qatsi, with downpicking. Trying to copy your technique into my practice and become better at it as an inspiration to my playing. But i am struggling so much keeping it clean. Getting there though (Y)
    I have been playing guitar on and off for 5-6 years now but i totally suck at control on picking, mainly cause i can't keep up with practice. Since only youtube/musician idols give me a minor inspiration to keep practicing. I find it frustrating to just stick to it: How did you gather inspiration to continue, though?

    That sounds incredibly awesome. Also, i expected you to play a little bit clumsy while in "standard" just because you use that weird dadgad open stringy thingy all the time with Monuments and Flux Conduct. Do you play in standard tuning often or do you just find yourself from time to time playing in standard just because you had an instrument tuned like so laying around? Cheers :)

      No, I must have a different idea of a classic tone, to my ear this is fairly modern although not compared to the sounds you use on your solo stuff, the the mix is more modern in style with the program too, I'm just spouting bollocks that is just subjective opinion though.
