Feel like, with how much we mentioned Commander this time around, it feels weird not to highlight that the only reason Prime Time isn't popular in commander is because it's been friggin' banned in it since the beginning. Prime Time isn't banned in Arena's Brawl format though, so it's pretty critical there.
I thought It got banned in like 2015 or 2016, not the beginning. It used to be an absolute menace in commander with deadeye navigator, amulet of vigor, and bouncelands.
My AesiTyrant of Gyre Strait commander deck was already my favourite deck to run. Now this video has just given me ideas to truly push it to the next level of solataire...
Aesi has been my main deck since i started playing. Tooth and Nail into kodama and Meloku the Clouded Mirror. Draw your deck. Use sun scorched desert to close out the game. Best part is everyone gets killed by a land in your land deck.
Fetches and crucible of worlds are pretty good for this. You could also use cards like Tatyova to draw cards and try to keep the land drop train going.
Landfall is probabilly one of the most fun and BUSTED mechanics from all magic, not only you get to ramp but you are also recieving bonuses from doing it XD besides it's sound effect on Arena is so fricking satisfactory
The best lands for landfall and the “you may play lands from your graveyard” text are the lands from Streets of New Capenna. You gain life and get a double landfall trigger
Landfall, in my humble opinion, is all or nothing, and to you use it to get a 6 mana spell, fast, is more, to me, all or nothing. Good draw, or mulligan type of scenario. Keep up the interesting content.
Which is such a weird errata. I get it from a game design perspective, but a few months before this change there was a card with the Capybara type. Feels like they're trying to smush synergies together instead of making unique identities for Snakes and Naga.
Very surprised Crucible of Worlds, Walk-In Closet/Forgotten Cellar, Gaea's Will, and especially Ancient Greenwarden weren't mentioned during the Ramunap Excavator. Those all allow you to play lands from your graveyard with some added benefits, besides Crucible of Worlds. Ancient Greenwarden is particularly strong in landfall because it allows you to play lands from the grave and doubles triggers. Honestly this list is kind of bad for landfall. Wren and Six being here is especially confusing. It was even mentioned that it is terrible in landfall decks. It is strong but doesn't enable landfall or have any payoffs. All it does for the deck is get lands back from the grave which the above cards do better. Heck all the other mono-color Wrens do much better jobs for landfall and weren't mentioned. Just a really odd list.
Also lacking cards like Fastbond, Azusa, Exploration, Burgeoning, Life from the Loam, fetchlands or even bouncelands depending on what type of deck they're specifically thinking of.
Yeah but #8 should also take cost into account, and I do not mean to cast... At this point of time of my comment Amulet of Vigor= about 20 dollars; Spelunking = about 2 dollars.. So yeah while Amulet is by far better in that regard, not everyone is paying 20 dollars for it. Now, while is possible Amulet could drop due to reprints, I think its important to note the cost of playing the game.
Kinda sad Karametra, God of Harvests isn't on here. 3GW, indestructible 6/7 Legendary enchantment creature with "as long as your devotion to green and white is less than 7, Karametra isn't a creature" and "whenever you cast a creature spell, you may search your library for a forest or plains (TYPE, NOT NAMED, THIS IS IMPORTANT) card, put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle your library" depending on how you use her, she can clear out your entire deck of lands within a few turns. Used her in combination with Tireless tracker (landfall: create a clue token with "2 sacrifice Clue and draw a card) and mana dorks to create a fairly reliable draw engine.
Errr… where is exploration? Crop rotation ? Knight of the reliquary? Walk in closet? Pretty much all of those are better than the entire list you put there lol
This is the extremely specific niche content I subscribe for
I'm tuning a simic landfall deck from my cremated nadu deck so it's fantastic
@ another victim of the naduing
Same lmao
Now that I think about it, this kind of content is perfect for cube recommendations

@@albertcohee7757 I'm a solipsist, so nothing exists prior to when I got into the format.

Good morning, can’t wait for this deep dive!
Perfect timing for this video to come out. Been looking for cards to build a Bristly Bill commander deck.
Lands matter is my fav archetype. Thanks for this!
A problem I've had with 'play multiple lands' cards is that I very rarely have multiple lands in hand by the time I draw them
Fetches and crucible of worlds are pretty good for this. You could also use cards like Tatyova to draw cards and try to keep the land drop train going.
@@hogaakarisen yeah, getting enough card draw in my decks is still something I struggle with lol, I'll give your suggestions a go
A deck with Tatyova is smoother than a deck without Tatyova. VIP
Thank you! i will know what to find next time im playing forge
(Basically fanmade MTG offline)
Love Cultivator colossus + abundance
Amazing!
I allí ready Buy the precon jumpscare (simic) this help me to upgrade the deck, thanks

The thing is that fetch land can search non basics, that's why they are soooo good. Not just strong, they simply make the game itself better
I have a Toggo & Kodama East deathtouch rocks deck that's pretty fun. Kodama is nuts in commander.

Does the narration sound different to anyone else? New recording setup, maybe? It sounds somewhat improved to me.
Lumra commander 🔥
Might as Well been Top 10 cards to use with Prime Time
theres a mistake less than 30 seconds into the video, naga is no longer a creature type and has been errataed to lizard, love ur vids btw
It's not a lizard. It's a snake. Check Gatherer.

@@ElionMarssame with the cephalid type. They’re all just octopuses now.
What weird timing, I'm literally building a mono green landfall deck right now. XD

Not an ability word. They are known as keywords. Good video either way:)
Ramunap Excavator is no longer a naga. It's been retconned into a snake.

"Fetchlands would've been too boring to include"
Also too non-green
Yeah primetime is so broken it's been banned in commander for over 10yrs and they're not going to take him off
Yet it’s available in historic brawl, I genuinely wonder why
@edbob9932 brawl isn't commander
Its a shame that primeval titan is banned, thank goodness the rc no longer manages the bans
@@edbob9932far fewer OP lands.
Never burn lands, its how you play the game, lol . .

Scapeshift isn't a land.
