    I like to refer to the cold grey sky days of winter as 'grey stick season'. Here in NH, the less snow we have, the longer grey stick season is. I love to ski, any kind of skiing, so no snow = no fun. How about Alta, Utah, over 500" of snow, now that's fun! Thanks for posting Emily, love your energy, take care

    Thank you Emily, I don't feel so bad about not keeping good notes and documentation now. Thank you for sharing your experience with this new hives.

    Another great review👏🐝👏Loved how u kept calling them spinny thingies🤣and the Queen spinny thingy was especially cool talk about options!👍Those half frames r Adorable too! I'm with u on the price too imagine if All ur frames were Apimaye🤯💰😬Definitely seems like they're the way for queen breeding but yeah I'd stick with the woods for the vast majority! Well Thanks for yet another Great video my Favorite Keeper, u hang in there my friend and I will see U in the next one😊 #emilyisthebeesknees #beefitbeekeeping #beefitapiary #beefithoney #beefit #beekind #queenbeeemily #springiscoming🌻

    good stuff! I've never heard of this hive. but please get a tripod. After this video, I felt dizzy from all the camera shaking going back and forth.

    Emily I’m impressed with your bee yards and all the equipment you use. My question is how we’re you able to acquire that much equipment in that short of time. Did you get a grant? Thanks for the videos

    For me the good thing about apimaye hives is the Insulation which makes me want to get them very much but like you said its a little pricy and upgrading the hive will cost more

    Emily, that’s the first time I’ve seen a Defender hive. It wouldn’t make a great mating box yo drop 4 cells in at a time. What have you been up to? You look and act so much happier!

    No, I don't know how it it in the Midwest. I do know how it is in Alaska though. -50F takes a bit more insulation and food.

    Do you do anything with long hives? I thought I saw one in the background. I built one and I wonder if you have an thoughts about them?

    • @beefitbeekeeping
      @beefitbeekeeping  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that is a long hive! The Queen breeder I teamed up with built it. It’s used as a conjoining hive. The main Queen I want to breed off of that summer goes in there and then when I want to make another Queen, pull out a frame (all the frames in there are half frames) and just stick it in the defender hive and they will make a new Queen. It’s a great hack for breeding queens ☺️

    HELP PLEASE 🐝
    Thanks for all your tips and tricks. This is my first summer keeping my wonderful Bee's. My question is.. how long after the summer solstice do you put the new queen in Hive? Here in New Zealand our summer solstice is on the 21st of December. It is the 16th of February today and I'm guessing it would be to late to do it now for me. Any help muchly appreciated.

      @Chuck Jager what are your qualifications to judge this girl? I am a member of a bee Club. And if there is a way to control mites without putting chemicals in my Hive I would really like to try it. Please tell me why you commented on this post? Mr Laughing Man
