Thanks Rider, Can you test one? Merida are pretty short in general 460 reach on a Large 480 on a Reach. I say you could ride both Large will be more playful easier to turn in corners but the XL will be more planted in a straight-line
Sam please could you help, I was about to pull the trigger on the YT Decoy Pro Race but came across the new Merida 9000 (model below the 10K). I’m the trails that I ride are pretty gnarly, steep, with lots of gap jumps etc, is the decoy the right choice? I am a playful rider who likes to pop, gap, manual etc
Hey mate thanks for the nice words, my mate rides the 10k and loves it he rides very hard and is very happy with it. I know the 9000 it’s good but I think you really want a x2 float on the rear of your riding hard. I’ve ridden booth if it’s a financial decision then go the decoy, change the wheels I think if your going to jump big and she is a beast, just remember if stuff goes wrong you need to sort it out or send it back to Germany. If you have the cash then look at the 10k is a cracking bike and if anything goes wrong just drop it back at the bike shop but saying that if anything goes wrong with motor or battery you will be without a bike for a bit! I hope that helps and if you have anymore questions hit me up! Once you get the bike can you thank me on Instagram and tag the company in?! I’m still trying to get the company’s to take me seriously. Thanks
Sam’s Bikes thanks a lot, really appreciate the detailed reply. I’m only 71KG so not tooo scared of killing the wheels, haven’t heard any reports online of that to be fair. You are definitely right, the X2float is the one to go for. Another bike I nearly pulled the trigger on is the Commencal Meta SX Signature, but there is just nothing online about it. It’s a beast of a bike but I feel it will be a more reign and kenevo type bike looking at the stats
I haven’t really tested it but it’s pretty similar to the decoy, I think the e160 and the decoy are better all round bikes and the reign would be my weapon of Choice a big mountain riding
@@SamsBikes I had a large lapierre 927i before and felt fine on that but changed it and went for obrea wild fs xl and don't like it at all in fact I'm just waiting for refund for it at the min so looking at what to get next
so I just dropped the deposit on the 10K in black , there's a grand off so 11k with the specs and the extra battery sold it to me . much cheaper than the UK or Europe :) Well thats what im telling myself and its my birthday inn 3 weeks and I dont have to answer to a Mrs anymore So fuck it. I have to wait three weeks for it though which is gonna be torture.
@@SamsBikes Thanks mate looks like I'm gonna love it 3X hahahaha feeling a little guilty I must admit. Like I have to still hide the fact from my Ex but can't wait for it.
Your channel is great, you are getting hold of all the new top spec e-bikes which is really helping us consumers choose the right bike
Glad you like it thanks for the feedback....
Looks like some nice trails around Adelaide. Thanks for showing off the Merida e160 10k .
Very nice bike if you have some coin in the bank.
Met you the other day at ohh, good to see you at my fave spot. Subscribed! 👍🏻
Hey Sean great to meet you and I love ohhh on the e160
Great videos as always Sam :)
Thanks rider!
Hey mate. Great video. Curious from what you’ve seen... at 6’1 would you have me on a XL or L Merida e160 8000?

Good insight into the bike thanks
Np great bike if you have the coin
Sam’s Bikes I bought one
Richard Mcfadden sweet you loving it?!
I have test ride both over a couple of days and I preferred the old e900 better to the new e160
Really ?! That’s some great information my mates all have them back in oz and they love the old ones and the news ones
How's it compare to the Giant Reign Sam?
I haven’t really tested it but it’s pretty similar to the decoy, I think the e160 and the decoy are better all round bikes and the reign would be my weapon of Choice a big mountain riding
Epic vid bro!!!
thanks rider..
Ripper video, well done
Thanks 👍

I'm 6ft 2in what size merida would you say large or extra large thanks
Reach on the large is 460 and xl is 480 not massive when you look at modern geometry numbers I would go the xl! But I like a long bike!

Yep I got pretty Aussie in that video
That merida is a 4 to 5 grand bike with a 5 grand motor, thats the way i look at it.
Once we sort out Airlines taking our bikes we can take over the world 👌
Can’t wait but it’s going to be a few years I think
why do you say 'you' so much?
