      How is that sadder? Littlefoot's mother died really early into the film. So we don't even see them form that much of a connection. Mufasa died around the middle of the film. So Simba and Mufasa actually have time to form a much bigger connection before Mufasa's death. Plus Littlefoot's mother's death doesn't even make a lot of sense. She just died from a T-Rex bite that wasn't even that big or deep. Mufasa was trampled to death, and the fact Mufasa was betrayed by his own brother makes his death that much sadder. Mufasa's death is way sadder then Littlefoot's mother.

  • @Karuminu2

    I understand how some are annoyed that immediately after Bambi's mom's death scene, you see happy, cute birds chirping all sunny and happy. But look at it this way. While you're in a dark pit of sadness, grieving and mourning for someone close to you, outside of that sadness and pain, life continues on. You can be sad, you can cry, you can even wish to turn back the clock, but time is more powerful than you. Eventually, you have to overcome the pain of loss and rejoin the living and, well, LIVE. Like those Spring birds.

      Julie Herman I might be biased, since Peter shares his birthday (July 28) with my dear, departed Mom, but I honestly don’t think anyone can match the levels of intelligence and compassion that Peter continues to infuse into the character of Optimus Prime!
      Actually, I take that back! I KNOW no one else can! I wrote to Peter Cullen a few years ago, expressing my belated condolences for the death of his brother, Larry H. Cullen. I told him how much his portrayal of Optimus means to me, even to the present day! He sent back an autographed 8 1/2 X 11 photo adding:
      Thank you, Lesley, for your kind words!”
      What an absolute sweetheart he is!!

    • @julieherman9801
      @julieherman9801 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Lesley_RedRhody aww!! God he's a sweetheart! He actually based optimus off his brother who was i believe in the war at the time, his idea was 'be strong enough to be gentle' or something like that. G1 optimus will always have a special place in the hearts of those who watched g1

    • @gottaluvotakus465
      @gottaluvotakus465 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think it's because the first "The Land Before Time" movie had a long period of time where it was hard to come by, and to an extent it still is. Out of the franchise, it's the outlier due to its tone and content and thereby is not considered suitable for children by a lot of adults. I remember watching the movie on TV when I was really young and loving it, yet by the time I was 8 or so (sometime during the early 2000's), it never or rarely aired again. Even a lot of the multi-movie packs now a days don't include it. I mean, think about it, most kids now probably never even saw it and probably only know from "The Land Before Time VII: The Stone of Cold Fire" to "The Land Before Time XIV: Journey of the Heart." Imagine their reaction if they saw the first? At this point, most parents would want to avoid explaining why everything is so different and ignore the movie as a whole.
      So, in short, the movie was too "grown-up" for most grown-ups, and they'd rather brush it under the rug with the other masterpieces than deal with actual issues they aren't mature enough to handle.

    "Bumpy's mom. She's...AUUUGH!!!" XD
    I can say I've been traumatized by that scene from The Neverending Story. So much, that I usually end up skipping/fast fowarding that dreaded scene, now even as an adult! It doesn't help that I love horses and as a kid felt genuine concern for Artax, even tho I knew it was just a movie. The way Atreyu screamed didn't help either...
    The lullaby scene from Dumbo was another one. There's also that scene from My Neighbor Totoro when Satsuki learns her mother's condition in the hospital gets worse. Her reaction, along with the fight she has with Mei, and the way they both cry is just painful.
    I'll be honest, Bambi's mom's death was so sudden, and then followed by a cheerful scene, that it only made me go "Wait, what was that sound?!" (Too young at the moment to know the true danger the hunter posed. Gimme a break, I was only 6.)

    I think Charlotte’s death in the 2006 live-action version is more sadder than the 1973 animated version. Like the filmmmakers take it to a whole another level. They make Charlotte look more close to death with her body looking pale and being unable to move. And they take even farther by actually showing a closeup of her face and her closing her eyes for the last time. They do not hold back in that version. You see her actually die than just her body disappearing behind a beam like the original version.

    • @MAnuscript421
      @MAnuscript421 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And they take it a step further by showing her webs start to wane and drift apart. You saw the “Humble” web just blowing in the breeze after literally showing her dying. And to make it even more depressing, Wilber had to return to the barn and see what’s left of Charlotte’s “Radiant” web.

I remember hearing in the movie, he was confused with a soldier who was in his regiment in WWI, but in the book, he wasn't in the war and he died of jungle fever with the added stress of business woes (the ones that caused him to leave Sara with no money).
