Another great breakdown! Every time I hear you guys talk about the Ned Rig I think it might be a good thing to have my kids throwing while I'm trying other techniques.
That's the best thing I've heard all week! "If you're not a tournament angler I feel like you hate life throwing the neg rig."... LMAO! I definitely feel the same way LOL
You know your a hook up fan when you even look forward to a video on ned rigs.. Just love the way you guys talk and keep it semi professional with great vibes! Awesome edits by Geoff. Cheers friends. Keep the jdm tackle coming!
I caught my first bass on a Ned rig, cut a senko I’d found at a fishing spot, put it on a jig head and tied it on to my ol zebco... (I thought bass were extremely rare and special at the time mind you) and went after some pre spawn bass at my local creek. It’s now a huge confidence lure that I bust out when nothing works...
The Ned just gets snagged galore in our urban creek; gotta go weedless and even then, it still snags much more than a T-rigged plastic. Great for fishing in fish bowls or gravel beds or treeless ponds.
Ours have large populations of urban campers that throw everything around them during their fits of rage into the water. Never know what's under the murky water and exposed hook neds are just asking for swamp monsters to take'm
Try using the Z-man plastics, they keep the hook up off the bottom just a little bit better. Also if you head over to Mikey Balz channel that guy was able to make a Ned hook that has a jig style weed guard on it, looks like it would be very good for less snags. Drop shot works well as well to keep your stuff above the weed line. That or t-rig time
Love the Megabass Bottle Shrimp. Caught some hawgs here in Fla. on it. Don’t think anyone throws it in my area or they don’t know about it. It’s total different profile than all the other craw style baits. The scent they use is unique to say the least. Great video and I got some new Ned rig ideas now. Thanks.
That roboworm ned bait is 🔥🔥🔥 I’ve literally lost count on how many I’ve caught on that thing on some outings. It’s a go-to for me when the bite gets super tough
I love the Ned rig and live here in Az. I have caught so many bass on the Ned and feel like I have found the perfect technique for it. Really like the way the Hazadong shad looks like under water. Also really like the Robo worm and gotta say I hate Gary Yamamoto it tears way to easy. 10lb braid to 6 pound leader on a gloomis is a great set up for the Ned.
The ned bait I've had the most luck on, and it really kills here in North Alabama- the Hula stick. Really the Bang stick, Hula stick, and tickler are all the same thing basically just different sizes. The bang stick is like a senko, the hula is about 4 inches, and the tickler is like a TRD. It's just a stick bait with some little tentacles at the end but for some reason, spotted bass absolutely love it.
You guys are awesome. Your videos are very detailed and when promoting a new bait, I love how you let us know how it should be used and in what situations. For me, you have replaced Tactical Bassin for my go to on product and information.
While Griff is entitled to his opinion, I say whatever works. I've seen Roland Martin deadsticking a 5" Senko catch a multitude of fish over 6lbs and into double-digit weights. Is that any different and unsavory way of fishing?
All the people that don't like Ned rigs probably don't like arigs too lol. It's all just a tool. I've caught some good fish using it as a follow up bait that's just slightly different than a drop shot. Does one work better than the other, no idea, but it works. If I can catch a fish that followed an 8" swimbait on a 3" worm, I'm definitely all about it lol.
@@thehookuptackle_usa I feel it. I get his point of fishing to learn what the bait does for the fish to react but the Ned rig will fill a tourney bag. Great content guys appreciate the videos. Gotta go visit the store soon.
@@thehookuptackle_usa I don't get the hate for dead sticking a ned rig but you're cool with throwing top water on a shad boil or bed fishing jigs??? Seems like the opportunistic thing isn't consistent. Not hating. Just curious.
I don't understand why someone wouldn't like the Ned Rig but they'll enjoy throwing a Free Rig . A Ned smacks here in East Tennessee on TVA/Tennessee River water . RoboNed and the RI Smallie Beaver are 🔥🔥🔥 Sweet video
Good video Ben. The NedRig works well here in the PNW. I use the NedlockZ for baits 3" and smaller, and an EWG hook for larger baits like the Roboworm, and others bigger than 3". Yes Ben, next challenge Ben v Grif - Ned Rig. And why does it seem that every video you guys do, there is always someone going in/out that back door over your right shoulder? lol. Thanks for the video. 🎣👍
Not a "NED" guy ma'self......... BUT .... I did throw a couple pre-rigged type packs (Matzuo , strike king , & a pack of Lunkerhunt) into the box for Saturday morn to give it another shot! :) I'm with Griff ........ Its "feels" like one step above bobber fishin' (which drives me insane LMFAO) .... BUT i do know/see it works , so LETS GO!!!!!!! :) Thanks ferrrr Showin ana Sharin' amigos! - Hands down BEST Tackle show on TH-cam! #BenForPresident #AGriffGonnaHate #YouHateYourLifeIfYouThrowTheNed hahahahahah
Th Ned rig is like any other rig- you can throw a Texas rig and just dead stick it and then the same logic would apply- it's just sitting there and you're "not learning anything" according to Grif. I would argue you're learning about dead sticking, but that's not my point. You can swim a Ned, you can hop a Ned, you can stroke a Ned aggressively, you can drag it, or you can dead stick it- just like any other plastic. For some reason though- because it's small, and because it really doesn't matter what you do with it, it seems to work- some anglers don't like it. I don't really understand that but- I know that's how some guys feel. In reality though- they should dislike a worm as well- you can just drag it after all and catch fish- anyone can do that. Or a jig- you can just drag a football jig and catch huge fish- why not hate it? I don't get why they single the Ned out.
“Guys hate it because it is easy and the fish just chomp it”….I am honestly confused. Isn’t that what we are all looking for? Great ways to catch fish?
@@thehookuptackle_usa This actually got me thinking about the different ways and REASONS people fish and it's deeper and more interesting than I would have thought. Griff is more about the puzzle solving and experience. What a cool approach. When he said he was perfectly ok not catching a fish all day it really reminded me to enjoy the whole experience...it's the journey not the destination type of living. Love it!
lets be honest... who the fuck wants to admit out loud around people that they throw the ned rig lol. i will say however.... cough, cough, i throw it, cough, cough.... the sun sets in the west. sorry something got caught in my throat

It's a super technique for that! Probably the easiest technique along with the dropshot to have kids do.
That's the best thing I've heard all week! "If you're not a tournament angler I feel like you hate life throwing the neg rig."... LMAO! I definitely feel the same way LOL
Good break down. I also enjoyed the underwater footage with the voice over to really see how each looks in the water.

I can snag the most weedless lures ever at my local creek. Flipping jig with the heaviest weed guard possible?
The creek : “hold my beer...”

Hogfarmer spunk shad works great for Ned’s but it’s very versatile as a trailer from spro bucktails for striper to jigs and chatterbaits for bass
🙌🏽 Missile Baits Ned is awesome and Xzone makes a great one as well
Don’t forget a spark shad on and Ned ewg. Works well in the rivers by me.
the TRD craws are my skunk insurance when I do urban fishing here in the valley, it never fails

The missle ned bomb and the strike king ned cutr worm are pretty sweet, I like the TRD ticklers from zman too

I've done pretty good with the Reaction Innovations smallie beaver
The white an gold osp fit is gorgeous
It is pretty dope.
Great video ad always. But what is the point of using a non floating lure with a ned rig, instead of a classic shaky head or texas rig?
Great video! Very informative as always.👍

yes!

I've absolutely killed them out here on Havasu on the Z-man Crawz, especially when the water is cold. The Deal or Drews Craw are the go-to colors.
Those are great ones!!
Drew’s craw is my fav in that bait as well

you guys ever thought of a keitech custom leech as a ned rig?
No, but why not? 🍻
thank you very much
I have caught two of my three biggest bass on the Ned.
Over a 7.5 pound bass btw
@@blowupbassin152 Very nice!!!
Great tips what hook do you use for free rig on the 2.5
2.5 I'd use a size 1.

The senko rips way to much for me. Robo worm all the way.
Why not put a Ned rig as your weight for a dropshot. Double your chances.lol
