So peaceful John, thanks for that. Cold at Wombwell Ings tother day but it did garner me 1st Dunlin of the year & a 1st Snow Bunting for almost 3. Lovely feeling warming up in the car journey home..
Hello John! Thank you for the nice video in a… not really sunny weather : what a lot of customers for the apples ! The woodpecker is a surprise. But I was really glad to see the redwing and fieldfare. I wonder whether little birds would peck at the apples. It was a lovely surprise this video. Even though the whole of Europe is just grey, wet, completely wrong for filming! Thank you very much ! I hope you feel ok in spite of the weather. Back in Japan, well, rain too! Best wishes for an improving weather. Great birding, I really enjoyed this!👍👍👋👋😊😊‼️
Thank you Patricia, yes very disappointing that high pressure, normally a sign of clear conditions, has trapped this layer of cloud. Still can’t complain at least it’s not pouring down. I went to the Forest of Dean on Monday and did manage to see Hawfinch and found a really good spot with loads of small passerines which I can see me visiting again and again! Looking forward to your new Japanese videos! Happy birding! 🐤🐦😊😊
@ Thanks indeed! I just went checking my usual Tokyo haunt. Was ok but nothing remarkable. Last outing in France I did see a hawfinch: exactly the same that fly in here in the winter. That’s odd. Did you see about the tanager that was seen by so many birders in Yorkshire? Totally crazy: should be between South America and Central America! The world of birds is full of surprises!🤔🤔
@ isn’t it? We had a couple of sightings of an Indigo Bunting in September too. Last year was crazy on the Welsh Coast with sighting of American passerines: Magnolia Warbler, Myrtle Warbler, Black and White Warbler and Canadian Warbler are ones I can remember. The proximity to Pembroke Dock and transatlantic oil tankers plus hurricanes on the American eastern seaboard are certainly factors in these small birds crossing the Atlantic!
This was an unexpected American rarity a few years ago, again in Pembrokeshire but I actually ‘twitched’ this one. A Green Heron in Wales 2018 part 1 th-cam.com/video/ZxuR8xOxA_A/w-d-xo.html

There seem to be quite a few Snow Buntings around at the moment. I haven’t seen one for five years since one turned up on the Blorenge near here.
Lovely vid once again John loved it.
Thanks buddy, really appreciate your support!
Beautiful John ❤
Thank you!!
Nice video John, especially the Green W'pecker feeding on apples on the tree! never seen this before 😊
Thank you! I have to say I haven’t seen that behaviour before either but I have to admit I haven’t got a lot of experience of Green Woodpeckers.
