    I’m near Houston and every winter I have female red winged blackbirds. They’re beautiful, but they come in by the dozens. They also bring brown headed cowbirds. How can I possibly let them know they’re taking advantage???

    Everytime I hang seed bells or suet cakes it's gone the next day 😭 not sure if it's coons or deer. Love your info vids! From Nova Scotia.

      Sue R Thanks for watching and commenting from Nov Scotia! We use hot pepper infused bird food to dissuade mammals from eating our seed and suet - good luck!

    I really enjoyed all the information that you shared today, I to live in East Tennessee writing foothills of the Smokies, I have all my bird feeders in my peach tree in the backyard and I provided them with water a simple birdbath, I noticed I lost a lot of my large birds but I moved all the feeders to the peach tree we have lots of large evergreens for coverage and I’m using sunflower seeds should I be using a mixture or stick with the sunflower seeds?

      Beth McCracken Thanks for watching and leaving a nice comment! I used black oil sunflower seeds for years and recently added a wider variety to attract a greater diversity of species. It is really a matter of preference and what best fits your situation 👍

    How do you order or make the the drip feature?

    • @BirdGardenChannel
      @BirdGardenChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ash ley Thank you for watching and commenting! My drip system is part a sprinkler system. Commercial bird bath with bubblers are available or you can hang a water bottle with a slow drip. Good luck!

    I won't use anything that house sparrows like. They slaughtered my baby tree swallows. I have a hummer feeder, and I cook my own nectar, and I put out finch food. Also a bird bath...I love it when a Robin bathes, dries himself, then grooms, and jumps back in. Bird bath hog, LOL. I had a nest of blackbirds this spring, and the house sparrows never showed up. I provided shrubs all over so the birds can fly right to them. We really enjoy them, and the finch in Ohio just showed up a few days ago, flying to all my windows to get me to get out the feeders. Lolol

    I would love to do this but I have a rather what seems an uncontrollable rat infestation(probably coming from neighbors) and they will benefit from the feeding compared to the birds. I also have wall lizards. Do you think birds will scare away lizards from porch away? I hate lizards.

    • @BirdGardenChannel
      @BirdGardenChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Dallas Dandy Thanks for watching! Yikes! Don't want to attract rodents! I use pepper infused seeds to discourage mammals and larger birds do sometimes prey on lizards - good luck!

    You need to tell newbie bird feeders NOT to use gelatin-based seed shapes/suet in hot weather. A very melty mess.

    The amount of cuts every 5s or 10s or so is very annoying.

      Amy Winehouse.Thank you for watching and the feedback! I will consider reducing the number of cuts in future content.
