    This video is based on a viewer's request. I get numerous queries from my viewers on whether to use salt and rinse aid while using tablets and also whether tablet is better or a combination of detergent + salt + rinse aid is better.
    I have tried to explain this issue in detail covering all the issues based on my knowledge and experience and also after understanding how #dishwasher works.
    This video could be a bit theoretical wherein I have had to explain a lot of things. I hope I have been able to do a proper job on this topic and also in trying to remove the confusion/doubt.
    Hope you will find this video useful.

    Good share
    Very useful
    Long cycle means..eco like thing..
    Milk cookers and sticky vessels not washed properly
    So I use to wash a little and fill it in machine...
    But my friends are saying they pit it directly..and use tablets..and a combination of 3hrs cycle..
    Moreover my machine prompts e14 nowadays..
    I used quick cycle 29 min..washing done but the board display is different..
    How can I handle this..this shows after the washing is over..

    I suffered issue of detergent powder not dropping down after opening of detergent cabinet
    Can we make the detergent powder to gel @ home
    By mixing with water and preserve in bottle and use as detergent liquid/gel
    I'm using salt and rinse aid
    As per ur opinion and guidance....
    Only one issue
    Due to water leakage to compartment the detergent sticks there,,,and I think to convert it to gel or liquid,,,will it's effectiveness retain or any issue.....

    I enjoy your videos immensely, epecially related to Bosch dishwasher, which I bought after seeing your videos. A question: bosch dishwasher cover - yes or nah? Thinking of using covers for appliances due to ongoing construction nearby. Pls share your thoughts on the matter

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mithibai, thanks for the appreciation. To go for a cover or not is an individual decision. Some people like to buy cover for everything, fridge, washing machine, etc. I am not against it but I do not favour it. Most of the covers are nylon/plastic sheet and moisture trapped between the cover and the equipment tends to affect the paint and also speeds up corrosion, especially in coastal, humid areas. This is my personal opinion.
      In case you have construction dust issues which I believe should be temporary, you could cover with a old bedsheet, curtain, etc for dust protection till the construction gets completed. Anyway, finally it is your decision whether you want to buy a cover or not. Thanks.

You can ask her to watch my various videos on dishwashers, which will help her understand the basic working of dishwashers - how to fill salt and rinse aid, different types of detergent, water hardness, which dishes can be washed in a dishwasher and many such topics which are common to most dishwashers.
      You can go through your Midea manual to get certain details about how to set salt and rinse aid in your machine. I don't think this will be difficult.

      Hi thank you. If you are using only tablets and are happy with the cleaning results, you can set both the salt and rinse aid levels to 0. That way both the indicators will not be ON, indicating a refill.

Can v use fortune, finish products also? Some people are using veniger, aarogya rock salt . • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can try different detergents and finally use the one that gives best results. Just check your water in a testing lab for Ca/Mg hardness and make settings of rinse aid and salt accordingly. It is not advisable to use vinegar and normal edible salt. Dishwasher rechnology is the same in all machines. Some things you can check before buying dishwasher are how many years the product is in market, brand reputation, service back up in your city, affordable price, etc. When I bought my dishwasher more than 9 years ago, only Bosch and IFB were available. I bought Bosch since I believed that the german brand will be very good in all aspects. And it has not disappointed. Thanks.

I have recently bought fortune detergent and it has worked better than ifb ..my vessels come out clean but still sometimes just a few plates or kadhai lid is not washed properly .i feel soapy layer on them even though they look clean..and somtimes the wash is not proper as i see white layer on lids which was very oily before wash..so Can i increase the salt and rinse aid setting because of it? And how much level should i try to increase for the first time..? Is there any issue if the salt and rinse aid level is increased to get better results even if all the plates are washed fine?

I've a question about finish tablets which I have purchased for the first time, from online store. On its package, the info mentioned is not in English. @BhuvanaAdi  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Daisy, glad to know that my videos made you buy a dishwasher for yourself. Thank you.
      Usually if it is an imported product the manufacturers would have mentioned the expiry date and the importers in India would also put a sticker with the expiry date. Please check for that.

    • @daisyvsha
      @daisyvsha 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BhuvanaAdi A readable date is printed on it by the manufacturer but it is not clear if it is manufacturing date or expiry date. But as the importer put his sticker (with streaked ink and no readable info) on that date to cover it, I am sure that it was expiry date printed (28 12 22) as you mentioned. Good thing is that after sharing all the related photos, the online store has refunded the full amount. Thank you for your prompt response. It makes me confident that I was not wrong in asking for that refund

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kavitha, First check your water hardness and adjust salt and rinse aid settings accordingly. Cleaning depends on that. And choose program based on soiling of dishes and type of dishes. Turbo and express are short duration cycles but they also consume more power. Yes compared to Bosch some LG timings are more. But even Bosch has long duration programs if we choose some options. Use these short cycles only when required and not everyday. Try to use longer cycles like eco whenever possible as it consumes the least power. For most programs you don't need to choose extra options. Choose extra options like steam only when required not everytime. With time, practice and trial and error, you will learn which program is best suited for you. Thanks.

      @BhuvanaAdi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sheetal, have you adjusted salt and rinse aid setting based on your water hardness? Because you can get soapy dishes if rinse aid setting is high.
      Check the quantity of detergent you use, it should be based on the program selected and on how soiled the loaded dishes are.
      Finally, check if the program has proper rinse cycle.

      For a person who has been using a dishwasher for more than 12-13 years, I should say that a dishwasher will make your life much simpler and you will get lots of time for yourself. Not only that, the utensils cleaned in a dishwasher are hygienic, sparkling clean and dry to be used or placed in the shelves immediately, as compared to manual washing.
      Moreover, you have the convenience of operating the machine any time of the day and wash as many loads of dishes as you have in a day.
      Good luck to your purchase soon.

      Hi Prachi, sorry for the delayed reply. Your comment has gone into spam. I just saw it.
      I think you are asking about filling salt for the first time. Since you have been using the machine for two months, the salt compartment will have water in it. That is not an issue, you just add a kg of salt in it. Keep adding even if the water keeps coming out.
      Similarly, add 60-70 ml rinse aid or till the compartment gets filled, in the rinse aid compartment.
      You can watch my video on how to fill salt and rinse aid for the first time in the Bosch dishwasher by clicking the link below:

    i am using my Amazon basics dishwasher and Bosh detergent powder but i am not satisfied with the results, someone adviced me 4 all in one tablet, but i haven't use yet, i think Finish is good for dishwasher, kindly help 4 the same, thank you

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, sorry for the delayed reply.
      Getting good cleaning in any Dishwasher depends not only on detergents, but also on correct placement of soiled vessels and the right program selection.
      Detergent brands can be chosen based on your water quality. For eg. Finish brand is ideal for soft to medium hard water, Fortune and Vim gives good cleaning for hard water etc.
      Tablets clean heavily stained vessels better than detergents as they have a few additional ingredients for breaking stains, cleaning, shining etc. 4 in one will definitely give very good cleaning.
      But it is ideal to use tablets only if you have very heavily soiled dish load, using a longer high temperature cycle. Tablets will be a waste for normal or lightly soiled loads.
      Also your salt and rinse aid setting have to be rightly done based on your water quality. Cleaning much depends on water quality. So check your settings.
      Follow these and you will get good cleaning results.
      I've uploaded many videos showing usage of different detergents and tablets, in my channel. You can find them in a playlist, the link of which I'm sharing below:
      DISHWASHER DETERGENTS/TABLETS/GEL: th-cam.com/play/PLvZ681nV6tYpjbPPiogP2RIuDgCtx5Hg6.html
      I'm sure it will give you a better picture of the detergent types and how good they are.
      Hope you find my answers helpful.

      Hi Mitesh, 900 TDS is very high. Finish detergent is more suited for soft to medium hard water.
      Try our other detergents like Fortune or you can even try Vim tablet or detergent. These are more suited for hard water.
      Please write to me the results after you start using any of these brands of detergent.

      Hi Radha,
      What is your Bosch model?
      Have you set your salt and rinse aid levels based on your water hardness and filled salt and rinse aid?
      Which program are you using regularly?
      The Quick program does not have drying,.
      You could use the Extra Dry option whenever required.
      Once the program completes open the door and leave it slightly open for 15-20 minutes before opening the door fully. The dishes will dry in that time.
      Hope this helps. Thanks.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, that depends on your personal choice. You have to compare where you are getting better price and better offers.
      Some people are not comfortable buying online, they prefer buying in shop only.
      In case you don't mind buying online, you can go ahead. Online has bank related credit card/debit card offers with no cost EMI etc. which you get at the click of a button with no documentation. Not all offline shops offer these and could involve documentation. Mostly online purchase has the option of return within 10 days if there is any problem. I have found that some sellers like Cloudtail are reputed and hence you can buy from such sellers. You could buy through my link below in case you decide to buy online -
      amzn.to/3zE0z8N LG dishwasher White colour
      amzn.to/3gHCqH6 LG dishwasher Silver colour
      In case open box inspection is available, you can opt for that to check for damages during delivery.
      Both online and offline purchases have their own plus and minus.
      FYI, I bought my Voltas tabletop dishwasher from Amazon.
      Finally it is your decision where to buy. Good luck.

      Hi Ashima, do you still feel the locking lever of the dispenser is not moving smoothly. May something is blocking its free movement. Unused detergent/tablet spilling over and drying up could also cause this problem I feel. Is it still happening? And in all cycles? Try pouring some water on the locking lever and see whether it becomes free. If you feel Fortune tablet does not suit, please try some other brand tablet or detergent powder. If after all this, the problem still persists, I think you have to call for service person (and wait for the lockdown to be eased). Thanks.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're partly right. Actually in Mini and Clean & Shine programs there is no pre wash. Hence the washing starts immediately and thus the detergent or tablet gets dispensed as soon as the wash segment begins.
      In all other cycles, there is a pre wash segment wherein if you've added detergent in the pre wash compartment, it gets dispensed along with the pre rinse water. For this the compartment need not open as the detergent in the pre wash compartment will come out of the openings on the lid on that part.

    Are the warning lights for rinse aid and salt on while using Finish power ball supplied with the dishwasher?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Debasis, the salt and rinse aid indicator lights up only when the salt and rinse aid compartments have to be refilled with the same or the compartment is totally empty.
      If you are not going to use detergent at all and are going to use tablets always then you can set the salt and rinse aid levels to zero, so that they will never blink. But you can do this only if your water is very soft. But again for soft water, detergent is better than tablets as I have mentioned in the video.
      So, you have to set the salt and rinse aid levels based on your water hardness.

    Kindly advise. I usually have satisfactory results with the wash cycles, except certain steel pans and cookers…which have this rainbow film on it. This disappears when I rinse it out with a bit of vinegar….is it related to zero salt?

      @BhuvanaAdi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sonali, I do remember you and your using a Bosch dishwasher for sometime now
      Since your water is very soft, like you said there is no need to add salt. In that case, adjust your salt setting to H0.
      In any case, the rainbow/blue colour you seem to be getting in some dishes is quite common especially in some types of steel. This is because of the reaction caused by the detergent and hot water.
      Btw, I would like to know as to which detergent/tablet you're using on a regular basis.
      They usually go off on washing as you've rightly said. Since you're able to clean them with vinegar, I would suggest you add rinse aid and keep in the low setting. You can increase or decrease the level of rinse aid setting based on your cleaning results.
      Hope your issue gets fixed.

      Hi, aap pehle aap ke water hardness ke basis par salt aur rinse aid setting karlijiye.
      Water hard hone par white patches hone ke chances hain. Salt setting badaye toh yeh problem solve ho sakta hai.
      Lekin pehle aapko apne water ke hardness ke bhare mein teek se pata hona chahiye.
      Aap Bosch detergent bhi try kar sakte ho. Finish detergent se, soft aur medium hard water ke liye hi ache results milte hain. Hard water ke liye, Bosch ya Fortune detergent try kar sakte ho.

      Hi Manish, can you please let me know which detergent you are using?
      Also i would like to know as to which program you use regularly and which are the programs in which you notice white stains on your vessels.
      Are there any specific vessels in which you notice the stains?
      Please answer the above so that I can try to resolve your problem.

      @@ManishSharma-yi5ru hi, i think you need to change your detergent. I don't know whether you've seen my detergent comparision video. I've given a low rating for IFB detergent for my water type, in that video.
      From my experience and research I have found Finish to be best for soft water like yours. My TDS is also almost similar and I stick to Finish always. You can also try Crystale tablets.
      Somehow I did not find good cleaning results with IFB detergent.
      Hence my suggestion for you would be to switch over to the brands I've mentioned above.
      I'm sure you will get over this problem.
      Btw, I'm sharing below the playlist of detergent videos on my channel, you can click the link to watch them for better understanding:
      Hi, cleaning heavily stained tea vessels depend not only on detergents, but also on correct placement of those vessels and the right program selection.
      Heavily soiled dishes can be best cleaned in Auto or Intensive program.
      But you can use tablets if you have very heavily soiled dish load, using a longer high temperature cycle.
      Also your salt and rinse aid setting have to be rightly done based on your water quality.
      Follow these and you will get your stained vessels fully cleaned.
      I've uploaded many videos showing usage of different detergents and tablets, in my channel. You can find them in a playlist, the link of which I'm sharing below:
      DISHWASHER DETERGENTS/TABLETS/GEL: th-cam.com/play/PLvZ681nV6tYpjbPPiogP2RIuDgCtx5Hg6.html

      Please keep me informed about the results.

    Hello mam i switched from tablets to detergent i use finsh detergent with lemon the water hardness is 129ppm which equal 8 in dh so i have low water hardness my dish washer user manual recommended level 2 of salt based on the water hardness but my dishes were even more horrible and they were so foggy it seemed like they had a powder layer over them and when i adjusted the salt level to 4 the powder effect has gone but there was water spots all over them if you are wondering what is the level of the rinse aid it is 4 and my dish washer is toshiba i want to no what is the problem

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, if your water hardness is 129 ppm(btw how did you arrive at it?), then your water must be very soft.
      I think you have to adjust your salt and rinse aid setting based on your water hardness.
      You can set both your salt and rinse aid setting to level 1, since you are using detergent.
      In case you are using tablets, you can set both the salt and rinse aid to 0.
      Try running various cycles at these settings for a few days. If you get satisfactory cleaning results, continue the same settings. Else increase it by one level.
      Hope this helps.
      Thanks.

      A good question Karuna. On an average a dishwasher should last anywhere between 8-10 years. But much depends on the water quality and how frequently you use it. And also the general maintenance.

    • @BhuvanaAdi

      Hi, Aluminium will blacken if washed in a dishwasher. Hence, manufacturers do not recommend washing aluminum cookware in the dishwasher.
      But, if you still want to wash them, you can do so in the short cycle of temperatures less than 50 deg C.

    It appears that the tablets are a marketing gimmick designed to encourage people to purchase additional products.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well not exactly. In some countries there are machines, which do not have salt (and maybe no rinse aid) chamber too. In such cases the tablet helps in better cleaning than just detergent. Moreover some advanced variants of tablets have more ingredients which give excellent shine to glassware, better stain removal etc.
      Anyway, a person is free to use or not use a tablet. Thanks.
