Blessings to you and thanks for sharing. I would like clarity on the color of the lamb in verse 32 & 33. You mentioned the color to be brown but my Bible (ESV)says Black. I checked the KJV and it says brown. Just want to be sure which it is. I believe everything in the Bible has significance and it is ver dear to me. Really appreciate your teaching. Thank you.

Is it possible that God played a role in Jacob's decision to use the rods and simply allowed Jacob to believe that it was "working"? In Ch31, Jacob does give God all the credit, so that's what my mind immediately wants to think.

I just thought he was once again lying about God. But maybe you're right. I just can't understand how Jacob is a good person at all. Maybe that's the point. I mean, he's a total lying cheating jerk. A total freak. I don't understand why God allowed him to get away with his deceitful strange idea about the rods. Seems both wicked and very foolish and weird. So why did God help him? I know God did help him or else that weird idea about the rods wouldn't have succeeded. And then Jacob makes up a story about a dream and claims God's help. Idk.
Also, why does anyone neither Jacob wrestled with God? Isn't it clear that he just made that up? He literally fought a man in the wilderness and the man lost..... Why would we trust Jacob when he claims it was God that he fought?

All of Jacob's sons names are prophetic: Jacob had twelve sons and their names put together is the hidden gospel revealed through it. It's amazing how God hid all these wonderful truths in simple names and stories. Here are the names and their meanings:

PRAISE THE LORD, HE JUDGED OUR STRUGGLE AND BROUGHT US GOOD FORTUNE, HAPPINESS, REWARD, HONOR; HE ADDED US TO HIS FAMILY AND CALLED US THE SONS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

To say mandrakes were thought to be an aphrodisiac, i think of the screaming plant from harry potter. That's doesn't sound appealing at all
