And better, classier, looking and a nicer drive too, being an auto whereas I believe the MGs were all manuals ?. These days I can only drive autos, I'd love one of these.
Get someone who knows cars to describe them. This car is very rare and not only V8 but rear wheel drive. A real hot rod and definitely a future classic.
A distant friend of ours had one of these, in chameleon Green and was his show car, it then went abroad and had a super charger fitted, wow It was Rovers introducing the brand to BTCR and it did very well until the brand was shat on by it's own management and closed Who would have thought 20years later and MG is doing well and alledged the MG is back for 2025
I know he's a Ford fan, but I'm still a tad disappointed, and very surprised, that Dave M clearly didnt know the history of Rover putting V8s in their older cars, such as the SD1 which had a 3.5 litre V8 derived from a lightweight Buick engine. So not exactly a surprise the next generation Rover boys selected another American V8 for their Special Development project. Lovely car and big bang for the buck as a weekender second driver.
Only around 30 of this model left according to DVLA records. Strange that rover used a ford 4.6 V8, I wonder how many lamp posts to the mile it gets!!!
The 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine can get you up to 16 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway, as long as you don't get silly with it. I don't know much about the 4.6.
@jjefferyworboys8138 the 75 was always going to be rear wheel drive that's why they all have the prop shaft tunnel but BMW decided against it after it was designed.
@@ellaevansboltmy manual 530d will smoke this thing into next week and do 54mpg on a run That’s why rover went bust the cars were cack compared to what bmw was offering
I like the way the appraisal skips past the defects like the sagging door cards and the huge gash on the rear nearside wheel arch ⚠️
Absolutely stunning.
It's a completely different car than the v6 they are front wheel drive like the rest of the range where as that is the rear wheel drive. What a car 😍
A very interesting car in lovely condition and much rarer as a Rover rather than an MG.

Can't be more than a few left in that condition and it's a lovely spec as well.
A real unicorn car. Quite lovely.
What a lovely car!
A lovely car. When needed, an alternator change couldn't be easier, located as it is.

Don't be an anorak 😂😂😂 he described all the things you exclaimed he didn't, what are you on about
Ah maybe you know it all.... ball bag
It is thee most beautiful car on the road
Looks smart I didn't know that rover put a v8 in this model 😊❤
Only 167 were made, along with 717 MG ZT 260s.
Had a 1980 Rover V8-S, used to get up Muswell Hill no problem. 😂
Never knew Rover made a 75 with a V8.
Even better when ya stick a supercharger on it 👍😄

Nothing unusual about a Rover V8. The P5b and the 3500 P6 were there decades ago.

Rovers last hurrah a beautiful car that went like sh*t of a shovel.
Engine is a de,tuned v8 mustang.
Not detuned, plonked straight in
Remember Clarkson drifting one on top gear👍
Take the manual gearbox out of the MG version and put it in this
Rare as rocking horse 💩 that

What is stranger is that the car was re engineered as RWD, all other models were FWD. I like unusual and interesting cars, particularly with a big V8.

How much is Road Tax on this V8😂
The V8 is compulsory
All the front wheels drive versions should be chopped up for parts 😂
This video needs more background music like Derek does so you can’t hear Dave talking shit
when i worked dealer i drove 2 of these, didnt like it,when rover went bust, these 2 were sold for i think less then £7000 each.
The last V12 E types were heavily discounted by the dealers to get shot of them. How times change.
Still a pile of crap whichever way you look at it
there was nothing attractive about this shape car .
