To answer your question about compatibility with XB360/1/Series: The V2 adapter will only work with RGH modded 360s with the Usbdsecpatch installed. The V3 adapter (the one with tilt) has an additional USB-A port on it for controller authentication, which will allow it to work with games on the 360 and later, once a new reworked version of the Guitar Configurator is released in the future.
Also you can have the adapter set up in PS3 mode and still use it on your PC, you'll just need to map the controls manually!

Thanks for the guide on configuring the adapter and getting it working on my Wii Guitar and the PS4/PS5! The only thing you left out was that you didn’t mention about hitting the “Write” button on the Guitar Configuration program after changing the adapter input types from Xinput to PS3 in order for this to work properly with the Wii Guitar on the selected platform of choice.

You can use this on xbox yes, but you do need an additional adapter called the roll limitless mini, as all 3 newer generations of xbox (360, one, and series) require controller authentication, and the roll limitless mini gets you that authentication by letting you plug in an xbox controller, and itll use that to authenticate your guitar (works for drums too)
It says the driver is unavailable for the adapter and I cant use it. I have tried troubleshooting the problem multiple times and restarting my pc like it told me to but nothing works.
Hey I need help with this adapter. Works on my ps3 but the whammy bar does nothing. Is there something to configure?
when i open the configuriator it detects it and tries to update it ig and wont go beyond 0 is there something i have to do before?

I’m having trouble with this. I have ps5 but when I connect the adapter to pc to configure it it reads it as keyboard & asking me to hit space so I can’t do it

I just got mine today!!! I can confirm it works on ps5. Just configure it and it works flawlessly!! set it to ps3. And itll work on even ps4

@@therealmarcyy9988 there is a program that you’ll need to download onto your pc. You can choose to have the guitar register as controller for pc, xbox or playstation. There are other settings as well.

if you'd like to use the 6 fret guitar with clone hero, i'd recommend buying the Xbox 360 GH Live dongle off of amazon or wherever you can find one, you can sync the guitar to your PC from there

you can find 5-fret guitars on ebay, Facebook Marketplace, used video game stores, etc. There's also a new guitar controller from PDP called the Riffmaster coming out soon
I've had issues while holding the keys and strumming and it doesn't pick up the notes with my GHL controller.does yours have that problem?

Does anybody know if I buy the wii guitar does it come with a cover to cover the hole where the wii remote would be? I wanna buy the guitar but the hole is throwing me off aesthetically :(
You’d normally need the wiimote to be accessible when playing on console so there’s not a cover for the wiimote area
just use black tape or something to cover it and you will be fine or something that will stick to cover it can be anything but black tape is what i thought of so whatever you can get to cover it will be fine

I have the same problem. It worked fine the first time but then started the buttons started inputting completely wrong inputs. My red button brings up the controls menu and green button brings up where u select ur profile on clone hero.
Please tell me yall found a solution

Whammy works for me on ps3, I didn’t have to do anything special after setting the guitar as a PS3 Guitar Hero guitar with the GuitarConfigurator program

It does! You’ll have to change your adapter to be recognized as a PS3 guitar in the GuitarConfigurator program, there’s a guide on the RetroCultMods site
When I use the Guitar Configurator tool it sees a Generic Serial Device on COM1 after I pick that, I have to choose an Arduino adapter. Ive tried them all but it doesnt move past that step? (Since sorted it out. New V3 Wii Adapter works on both PC and Playstation out of the box as of Jan 2024. No need to use Guitar Config tool.) @@Derpferdler

Someone told me that they heard that this adapter doesn’t support whammy. I just tested it for like a couple mins. I won’t be able to play around with it until the weekend. Could someone please confirm that that’s not true please??

Just ordered one recently for clone hero and learned I could also use it for RB4. I don't currently own RB4 and only have a PS5. Any idea if it works the same for PS5?

No but it should work with RB4 on ps5 if you set the guitar as a PS3 Guitar Hero guitar in the GuitarConfigurator program

If you have a Wii guitar, get version 3 of the RCM adapter because when Guitar Configurator gets a new update it will have the X360/XBOne/Series compatibility
