Thanks Jim, also very true. I brought my 76 Eleganza II a Cinnabar rebuild that has been sitting for 15 years for 8000 dollars. I have added another 8000 in mechanical overhaul. I'm now going over all of the electronics and every single other system familiarize myself with it's idiosyncrasies. I had an earlier career of Yacht Maintenance so this really is a good fit funnily enough.

Well done. You spent way too much time on the phone with me yesterday. I admire your patience and look forward to doing some bidness soon. Until then I'll be using your home page as my screen saver.

This video makes me feel a little better, after buying one that had some repairs done in all the years, I took inventory and thought that my coach was worth $10,000 just for the parts.. of course after I bought I can see coaches that might have been a better deal.. but who is to know until you get right into the thing.. Looks like I'll be under budget based on what I'll end up with.. but of course I always think I could have done better on the buy..

SPOT ON ! this really applies to all class A's..I don't buy into depreciation like a car..if you maintain it well and not paint the interior hot pink you can really keep the value in these rigs..after all it is a "home" but with one very clear advantage..IT MOVES !

Your timing could not have been more perfect. Three days before you posted this video, I committed to buy an Avion TransMode. I was in the process of making lists of all the priorities I wanted to communicate to you when I brought it to the Co-op. This video covered 95% of them and gave me confidence that I can get them done within the budget I was already trying to limit myself to. Clearly we're on the same page :-)

Yes, it's a pretty simple formula. If you stay within the budget of the formula, any coach can work out. Please give us as much notice as you can on your to-do list and let us get you in on our schedule and "Q'

Hi Jim, literally found the Coop yesterday. Bought my '73 GMC 5 years ago. My only complaint with it is the steering. Wishy washy is being kind. Do you have any videos showing fixes, be it steering box or replacing the consumable bushings etc. Anything you can add or send me to would be appreciated.

Wow, As an old guy that has owned old sail boats, muscle cars and Alphas, this is the best most honest realistic advice that I have ever heard about a project. Greetings from Tallahassee.

Thanks Dave. I told my Dad the 2 things I never wanted to be was a car or insurance salesman (no offence)...... I'm already selling peace of mind with fire suppression systems (FireFight Products) so I refuse to be looked upon as a used car salesman! I have resisted buying and selling these things for 22 years......... so now I am STILL not selling used cars but "stable platforms". What ever you do or want done to it is your choice. From a nice to a core platform they all are just that. Thanks for your comment.

You say "Mechanically Sound" for 25K. By "Mechanically Sound", do you just mean the vehicle portion, or are you including the house systems in "Mechanically Sound" as well in your 25K formula? Thanks.

Good Talk Jim.. I have 2 of them.. One just got new Brakes and tires and bearings gone thru etc. Needs some interior work where the rear cabinets are delaming due to PO's lack of care.. But new vents and sealing took care of that.. (1974 Glacier) The other I have what you described 1st. A good running coach unmolested. and I am just adding to her.. Still under the 20 Grand mark.. lol (1978 Royale)
