how do you cope with growing/ageing in life? As I am growing old, I get scared that my life is decreasing and I feel scared. When I see comments like this or anyone mention about birthday, this death thought triggers even more in me, and I am fearful and worried about my parents too, when its their birthday.
@@darkpenink6730 The primary thing I would keep in mind is that so very many die young, so like... if you can make it to even 60, congratulations, you win. If you're lucky enough to hit 70-90 range, you can take great joy in knowing you had more time. The psychological rub is you need to find enough meaning and gratitude in the present, whilst not clinging to regrets of the past, and not getting lost in the future (which you will likely imagine under worst case scenario, or go the other way and just fantasize about what you COULD do, while never actually doing much of it). I'm rambling at this point but what I mean to say is: Physical death is scary, but inevitable and therefore something we should pay little mind to (unless it can benefit our lives in some way) but growing old is a massive blessing that translates to more time. The truth of the matter in real life, and not seen in movies: You DO NOT need to be a "martial arts expert" to stand up to a bully! You just need to STAND UP! My grandfather told me you do not need to "win" a fight to get a bully to leave you alone. All you have to do is hurt him, and it doesn't matter how. Bite his ankles if you have to, and he (and hopefully not a she lol) will leave you alone. Because it's not the bully's intention to fight. It's intimidation, and all a bluff. And it does work. I stood up to a kid bullying me and whipped his butt. A week later, while walking home from school he jumped me from behind with 3 other guys. I ended making the rest of the walk home completely naked after beating me. Yeah I refused and did not return to that school after that. So never mind what my grandfather says! lol! The world's a tough place, but you still gotta stand up for yourself when you are in the right, even when you know you can get hurt doing it, was his real message. Because it is the right thing to do. And that is all that matters. (Taking some lessons learning how to defend yourself doesn't hurt either.)
This movie is one of my favorite movies of my childhood during the '90's. I wish more people who know about Chuck Norris actually knew about this movie.
I had a full on hyper imagination as a child myself. I was obese. And was picked on constantly. But in my imagination world I could do ANYTHING I wanted to.
Funny, we didn't have a rope but had this super high pegboard thing you had to jump off a platform to the bottom row then use the round pegs to go up row by row to the top near the ceiling of the gym, then let yourself back down. I didn't have the upper body strength to do it at all when I was a freshman, and when I was a sophomore I was super tall and lanky, 6'5" and weighed 170 and had long noodle arms, couldn't even do one pull up, but had good core strength and could crank out sit ups no problem. Starting second year I worked out every day after school on the universal machine, and stayed late to practice on that board when no one was around, then went over during the summer every afternoon. Finally nailed it during the summer and kept practicing so I could race up and down it practically with my eyes closed. The first gym class of Junior year in front of everyone I owned it, went to the top and slapped the ceiling with my left hand, and never took shit again. It was worth every bit of sweat to shut up the loudmouths in the class looking for any excuse to put someone down. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw this movie and the rope climb.
