The arch liner will probably fit but the proper S1 liner has vents to allow the heat from the aux radiator to escape into the arch. Probably worth get an OEM liner.
Not learning if you're not making mistakes. Don't know if they're mistakes until you try!

Well done mate for having a go. Like you said you have to start somewhere. The S1 is a great little car to use as a fun cheaper daily. Hope once it’s up and running you do a Stage2/3 modify 👍🏼

That front wheel arch liner is completely wrong, and even though it physically fits, it won’t work properly with an S1 because it’s missing the vents that are located to line up with the side mounted radiator to help with cooling by allowing the hot air that’s passed through the radiator to escape into the wheel arch. So if you don’t want cooling problems you should probably just order the correct part. Also the bracket for the side mounted radiator is actually supposed to be on an angle, and isn’t too far out of its original alignment.
It’s wonderful that you’re having a go! But it would be good to see you do more per episode, with a little less filler - makes the wait for these videos so much more worth it! Great video, just want to see more progress per video

TBH there's very few things a lump hammer wont fix.
Run the heater on full fan with hot setting and cap off .
That was done 👌
I’d love to try an S1. Interested to see how it drives
When doing a coolant change next time a tip is to put the heaters on max and full speed that way it gets it fully circulated around the system
Don’t be scared just have a go what the worse that could happen it’s already broken

Coolant should be diluted 1:1 with deionised water. Not recommended to fill it neat.
It’s ready mix coolant… it’s fine.

Forgive me for being brutally honest but. Why don’t you sell the m3 and the golf R put abit of cash into this to finish it and make it better then move it on. Crash damaged or not. And then get a c63 😎😂

Do what your friend said run it with the cap off, let it warm up so the thermostat opens abit and the coolant gets around everywhere, it will vent the air out the system, you just need to top it up when you see the level drop below min while it's running, once the level stabilizes, top up to max and fit the cap...Some newer high end car's have to be vacuum filled!, but I don't think that's required with an S1.
They are all vacuum filled.......................
@@richardsealey3626 No they are not, I've never vacuum filled any car I've ever owned when doing any engine work which required the cooling system to be drained. So to say they are all vacuum fill gives the wrong impression, alot of cars don't need a vacuum kit to be fitted when re-filling the cooling system, don't give people bad advise or the wrong impression saying they do.

It's very painful to watch how clumsy you are around your rebuild, appreciate your having a go, but it's quite evident you not even used to holding tools. stick to the commentary which I find enjoyable.

However if you were going to undertake a project like this maybe something older, mk1/mk2 MX5s are a great straightforward platform. And this would have been more suitable. Then after that project you would have newly acquired transferable skills. For future builds. However, understandably an MX5 may not be a car you’re interested in.
