Love seeing engineers using Luna. It’s been the best recording system/DAW I’ve used!

I'm sure their amazing studio monitors had the mix sounding amazing... but thru YT on my Yamahas, this sounded muffled and dull. The other demos of UAs in this King series sounded great! This sounded awful though. I can only imagine how they sounded on iPhone or laptop speakers.

i like these minimalist mofos. i don't need a crash, i'll use the ride. 2 toms is too much, we don't want to overdo it. i don't even think we need a kick, we'll just keep it in there for creative choices. we don't need a real hi-hat, just use a drilled crash - even though we don't usually use crashes - just to make it sound like a hi-hat that's broken - just like i am - inside. it's more precious that way, cause we're not really like anubody other. and the overall mood needs to be very grey, lifeless, grainy, ugly, and dirty. it's gonna take some doing, but i'm pretty sure we can achieve a sound that's gonna repel everybody. we're not mainstream at all, you see, i don't know if it's apparent. as for the song, sometimes we have a song, you know, sometimes we don't. we're gonna record anyway. it's just a thing creative people do.

just to reply to myself: this whole thing sucks balls. when you think how much knowledge and gear was used to achieve this.

A very uninspiring sounding drum kit.
