This is all so new to me but I can't get enough! I have no planets in my 1st house. A node and moon though and my 7th has lots of planets. So pretty opposite of what your example. I also need to get a grip on separating the planets that rule each sign and how that plays into everything from where the planets ACTUALLY are in relation to the signs in my chart.
I've been looking into astrology here and there for few years now, the biggest mystery for me what that during the Mercury retrograde I would feel very tired. Now, that you explained the Ascendant, I don't have any planets in my 1st house, but my Asc is in virgo, which is ruled by Mercury (located in the 3rh house) and my MC is also ruled by Mercury. I guess the mystery is solved :D
Wow the deeper I go down this rabbit hole the worse it gets and the more I realize why my life has been the way it is. Saturn is in my first house and Leo which is ruled by the Sun which is an Aquarius which is in the sixth house with Mars and my seventh house is empty so I really don't have any backup either.eeeekkkkk

For example, What if I want to balance my first house? I have Ascending Scorpio at 5 degrees and Neptune with Scorpio at 10 degrees and retrograde, yet the 7th house has nothing in it.
See what confused me is that I am a Libra rising with a pluto in scorpio in my first house. I'm also a Cancer Mars. But having one sign but another planet in a different sign in my first house confuses me.

Well I would say to balance out your 1st house energy it will be helpful to focus on others needs and relationships (7th). Even though you don't have any planets in the 7th, connecting to that area and working on that area will help balance out your Venus and Saturn in the 1st.
Consider your South Node in your 12th house. However, since it's conjunct your ascendant there are strong elements of the self that are associated with your South Node as well. Reading it as primarily 12th house with a 1st house blend would be an easy way of interpreting it.
Hello from Greece my friend i am a new subscriber and i watched your video on the first house and i gotta say that i am a little confused because you said that it is your self image........what do you mean by self image?????i used to read books of jeffrey wolf green who teaches evolutionary astrology and YES I do believe in incarnation but he was describing the moon as the way one sees him self through emotional reflection....(because the moon reflects light) so the moon would be for evolutionary astrologers the iner self image.......and secondly he was describing the nature of the sign ARIES and the first house and mars as the same archetype which is totaly instinctual.......so we cant be aware of our instictual part of our self.....so the image of yourself which you consiously project is the 7th house.........!!!Just give me an opinion because i am a bit confused...and thanks!!!
+Aprilios iouniou Well like I think you're implying all the houses have to do with self-image in a general sense since the astrology chart is showing ones conscious self. So each house is an aspect of that. The angular houses (1,4,7, & 10) would be the most prominent for this. The 4th is yes your inner and reflective identity, 10th is your public image, 7th is your image as projected through relationships, and the 1st is most fundamentally your direct self-image. In other words, how you directly see yourself (not through reflection, public, or others). It's the beginning of the zodiac where we first become acquainted with who we are and what we want in life.

Hi Lisa, if there a lot of planets in a house then it means that area of life is particularly emphasized in one's life. If there are non then generally not as much, however, will still get activated during transits. To know about a house with no planets.. take a look at the ruler of that house and where it's at in the birth chart.
Hi Jeska, the way I would sum it up is you are learning more about who you are on an inner/emotional level, trusting your gut instincts, and what your personal needs are. Then taking this insight and bringing it into your relationships (Ketu).

The Uranus and Neptune energies will be a big part of your personality as any planet in the first house is. Uggg my 7th house is void also, no planets, aspects, angles, or nodes but shows Capricorn on the outside edge. Mars in my 5th house.
