In order to get the monstrous Scylla voice, Jorge duplicated the original recording of the singer's voice 6 times and pitched each note differently to make the insane harmonies more demonic.

I agree that Epic would be incredible animated with a Prince of Egypt like production. I can’t seen anyway that a live action version could truly capture the grandiose feelings of the music and vocals, but you can do so much with a decent animation budget
I mean I can see, like a Les mis, Hamilton level production. Digital technology would help with holograms. It can very well be a live production. I image that the people who play the Gods would also play the ships men and the suitors. Smoke, sound scapes, I've literally scene a christmas Carol play with out of this world hologram technology for the Ghosts. The Cyclops and ruthlessness would be hard. But that's the fun of it.

@@thesilvereevee222it's not going to be on Jay's channel. He always takes down the live streams so that it doesn't suck away views from the actual album and the songs themselves. But people have recorded it and uploaded it so you can probably find it by searching.
Idk if you noticed this specific part (it’s harder w/o the livestream’s visuals) but Odysseus didn’t just let Scylla eat 6 men, he made Eurylochus hand out 6 torches to make them easy targets, so Eury unknowingly marked 6 friends to die (himself included) after revealing his guilt over the wind bag. All that and it’s crazy how he still considered Ody a friend after their fight, makes that ending sadder
Oh wow. I didn't even know that? Wasn't that in the regular odyssey story? Having read that in so long. But yeah, you can tell he was so apologetic cause he knew of his wrongdoings. But, sometimes sacrifices must be made. 🐺🐺
Not only that, you can hear the screams of all six men as they get eaten. You can hear the exact moment they die. And with the animatic that was made, this comment I saw has so much more meaning. The first 3 lines she sings are her speaking to the 6 men she’s eating, while the last three lines are her cursing Odysseus to live his life knowing that he became a monster just like her
I would love to see this animated, too! I could see it like Prince of Egypt, Sinbad, Hercules, but I really feel like it should be a series so you can pace out the characters, scenes, music. The whole experience!

Not only is it nice that you already have prior knowledge on greek mythology but you are also very appreciative of art, and provide quality commentary that draws attention to details i haven’t noticed before.
You should check out the Odyssey again! I read it and it was so good. Penelope is Odysseus' wife and the mother of his son Telemachus. No, Odysseus does not have a daughter. That's where the sirens screwed up. She waited 20 years for him to return. Scylla is a 6 headed monster with 12 feet. Scylla is also attracted to light. When Odysseus told Eurylochus to light up six torches, the men who had the torches got eaten. In one of the animatics that was in the live stream, Eurylochus was actually holding a torch. He passed it to another member of the crew, and that man got eaten instead. EPIC is an amazing musical as well! Jorge really did his stuff with this saga!
Yeah I remember all of those things except for the torch part. I will definitely go back to read the odyssey again right after jorge finishes it with his concept album, of course lol 🐺🐺
@@WolfReactsTV Yeah, of course. He even made a video telling the members of the EPIC community to read the Odyssey. He's been working on EPIC for about 5 years.

@@ln9256 Right. I believe I remember Scylla and Charibdis being next to each other, but (SPOILER), Jay actually moved Odysseus' confrontation with Charibdis farther into the show. And Charibdis is closer to Ithaca.
I also saw a theory somewhere that the siren’s “daughter” thingy was meant to be a manipulation tactic. They were trying to gaslight Ody into thinking he had a daughter, and that was so ANOTHER siren could transform into someone he loves. They were trying to pull him deeper into a trance, unaware that Ody wasn’t falling for it whatsoever
I honestly love the narrative choice Jorge went with in Thunder Bringer. In The Odyssey, Zeus just killed the crew as they were the ones who ate Helio’s cattle, but spared Odysseus as he was the only one who hadn’t. In EPIC, Jorge made it so that Odysseus had to choose between the lives of his men or himself. The fact he chose to save himself really shows how desperate Odysseus is to get home. So much so that he sacrifices the lives of his men! Ahh, it’s so good! Jorge is a genius!!
It also presents the question to the listener: if you could pay the price for someone else’s crime so they could walk away in exchange for your life or freedom, would you?
Have you heard the remastered Troy and Cyclops sagas? Long story short, Jorge had to re-record them because of legal issues with the production company he worked with prior, and the new sagas are all through his company.
@@WolfReactsTV the Troy and Cyclops sagas were remastered and released along with the Thunder saga. The original versions of those sagas made Jorge’s team no money, but the new versions will!
