In 1980 as a boy I hiked through the Axalp bombing range with my father. We had permission to do so from his friend who controlled access to the area. There were spent shell casings from Mirage fighters and dummy bombs. In the summer months there were sometimes supersonic fly overs in the area.
@@uzit5 well but they offered to send the gripen c for weapon system integration tests and for the flight envelope the gripen e prototype. The eurofighter was on the other hand just with block 1 aircraft present and was allowed to participate eventhough the one we would order would be block 3 (as big of a difference as gripen c to gripen e)
As a Swiss I want to say thank you that our air force is allowed to train with you. It would be an honor if we can host the RAF in our Alps one day!

PFF Should have bought the F16. That plane kicks ass. :))
Gripen E is even better!
F-16 was not compatible with our approach slopes on some airbases. Too steep, and the plane would not be able to decelerate enough.
