Indeed, but, it has excellent low speed turning capabilities, so if it can get something to turn with it, the bleeding of the speed on both jets won’t affect the Hornet as heavily, and if they other tried to fly away, the Hornet has a turning circle that more than means they can can get a Sidewinder away ;) it’s about playing to strengths, in the real world the Typhoon would blap the Hornet before it got close enough to see the Typhoon, but the Hornet would do everything it could to drag the Typhoon in closer, and slower!

Having the Swiss training here is a very good idea and they are most welcome. I remember hearing a sonic boom when walking in Altstetten as a Swiss jet was sent to intercept a straying US fighter. They can fly fast over Switzerland but probably only when necessary. There is a pressure group trying to hobble the Swiss airforce and more or less disarm the army for 'environmental reasons'. The real reasons are more political. Luckily the troublesome referenda have not passed up to now.

Switzerland has actually invaded Lichtenstein 3 times in the past 30 years. 170 soliders marched across the border into Lichtenstein after getting lost on the second Swiss invasion.
The first time they also shot missiles into Lichtenstein causing Forrest fires by accident.
