On Friday I will start my first job ever. And guess what.. It’s in my favorite garden center in my town. Thank you, laura! Your channel inspired me so much. I really needed to figure out what I wanted in life and I found it thanks to you. Thank you! 🙌😊🌱
You'll Love it, I work for a flower vendor, it's a seasonal job, I get to buy everything on sale the day they get marked down. Have fun, and read tags.
I grew the plum candy alternanthera in a container last year along with Lemon coral sedum. They both did so well in a full sun location. The serum developed a little bronze tinge by fall, but that was a nice shirt into the new season. I popped out the bright pink petunia for some yellow violas which looked great with the purple and chartreuse colors.BTW, the superbells I had planted in the container seemed to stop blooming in the heat (not budworm), so I yanked them out.
Thank you Laura and Aaron. I believe the Lord put you guys in this path to help people during this pandemic. When I’m down from watching the news and all the craziness that’s going on I turn your channel and it transports me to a good place and for awhile I feel like “the before time” May God bless and keep your family safe. Sunshine from Naples Florida
Loved this video. Thank you so much for taking the time to remove the pots from the drip system so we could see the plants better. I never thought I liked the idea of a large center piece plant in mixed pots until I saw the flowering ones. Thanks!
"I know this is probably painful to watch..." 🤭 You know us so well, Laura! You have definitely given me the confidence to cut plants back at the expense of blooms in order to help the overall plant thrive!
Laura, you do a great job! These are the Best flower container videos I have seen. I do containers and flower boxes and like to change up the combos and these ideas and hints are very helpful. Makes me sad that here in NH the season is over.
Pruning used to scare me and make me feel bad for the plant but now I am realizing how much it helps the plants! Every day I go out and walk the garden and prune after work. Its relaxing and makes me feel more connected to my garden.
I watch with interest because you and Aaron are a great couple and even though I live far, far away from Oregon, I do enjoy listening to your videos. I have a little house and land, so my entire true working will be with containers, so this video will be “saved” for reference. Thanks for being a smiling face and a show of kindness in this strange age we live. Greetings from Amelia Island 🌴☀️😊
I just absolutely love coming back to these videos when I'm opening my containers! So many great ideas, & so helpful to see their compatibility with certain things.
I think this year has just been so unconventional. When I do go to garden centers their inventory lacks. Definitely hoping next year will be better so I can get some of these great flowers.
I think the biggest takeaway from this "experiment" is less is more. If we're just patient at planting time and show restraint the flowers will do their impressive thing. My favorites were the arrangements with the fewest plants. Maybe even just two in that size pot as with the two gorgeous super bells (I didn't care for that third color, the one you pruned). Laura, I was going to suggest you use a Lazy Susan after seeing Linda Vater use one when she demonstrated a flower arrangement. Maybe you saw her video as well.
That Superbenum Piccaso I absolutely love the Coloring. Edged with the Chartrues omg out of this World. You did a great job with all of these Planters. Thank you Laura for showing the months updating on all of them.
The containers on flower alley are beautiful...I know you didn’t ask, but if I had to vote, container #6:Color Blaze Golden Dreams w/Red African Daisy, Red Hawk Sweet potato vine and supercells double Amber is my favorite😊
This gave me so many ideas for next year. Funny how my least combination when you first planted is now my favorite. Nice of you to go through all the trouble really doing the close up where we could see growth much better. Thanks
Every planter is stunning! I’m really glad you tried this with only a few plants per container, as well as using more warm color tones. It really helps to see how huge the plants get and how many wonderful options there are with Proven Winners.
Hi Laura and Aaron! OMGolly I can't believe how much everything has grown! The planters are all looking beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this update with us!
Girl, exactly what I needed this morning. I need you to understand that your videos are an integral part of a lot of people’s days. And that people come to you to escape the world that we’re all living in. My mental health would not be as it is without your garden. Thank you for sharing!
I subscribe to a lot of channels, and I must say that yours is one of the very best. You manage to mix being informative and keeping a personal touch. It is obvious you work very hard, but your love for gardening shines through and is infectious. I'm a new gardener this year thanks to being furloughed at work and your channel helps to keep me motivated and happy.
This was my reaction when I saw container #6 😲 it's so beautiful I immediately thought about a big colorful turkey. Lol 🤭 I love it !!! The last pot is outstanding too 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Laura, this was a great way to update us on their progress. Thank you. Mom and I watch every day and at 87 she's not able to get out and garden herself. I've got to find a way for her to be able to sit outside and get her hands in some dirt. Maybe repotting starts into larger containers or putting together a succulent arrangement. She'll sit on the bench under the maple tree and watch me putt around in my front yard flower beds. My crocosmia is in full bloom, newly planted lavender is coming along nicely and my petunias are starting to fill out. We live in Kirkland, a suburb east of Seattle, and have also experienced a cooler/wetter spring. Summer is finally here and today we'll see showers again. Oh well, we had 3 nice sunny days starting on the 4th of July, so can't really complain that my gardens will get a drink today compliments of mother nature. Just love your channel and have l learned so much. Thank you for inspiring so many of us who love gardening. Cheers!
Unfortunately, here in Minnesota we have LOTS of rabbits and deer. I planted Pentas in my flowerbed and they were eaten off to the ground the next day. :0(
I loved revisiting this video to learn about the various annuals and would have loved to have known the date it was posted to understand how much each plant had grown. The video is no longer dated and I notice this occurs on garden tour videos as well. Why have the dates been removed?
I LOVE my FELCO’S and am glad you are working with them! Will you please do a video on sharpening ? Mine are old and getting very dull but I don’t want to mail them off. Can’t live without them!
@@888-m2m Hi Rita! I've had it for awhile so could not remember but I found one on Amazon. www.amazon.com/Lawei-Heavy-Rotating-Swivel-Bearings/dp/B07QV4G6R3/ref=sr_1_12?crid=2CRERVKB2AZOF&dchild=1&keywords=plastic+lazy+susan+turntable&qi
Ohhhh how fun coffee with Laura and some amazing plants!! I love how all of these pots have grown. Thank you for the update and the honesty in showing how sometimes plants don't always do as well as you think they will. I do like seeing how you put things together and try out new combinations as it helps me decide what I would like to try!!
Loved seeing the smaller containers with fewer plants which is what I normally do. Lots of good ideas for next year! No Aaron. No Benjamin! Love seeing them too!
Wow!!! That first container is just gorgeous!! Great job. Love the colors and I usually don’t go for dark reds. It the interplay between the orange and dark red is killer.
You've taught me pruning blooms is not a bad thing. I'm getting braver. You're right! Within two weeks I saw better form, growth and many, many buds on my hanging petunia baskets. Thanks, Laura.
WOW!...WOW!...WOW!.. You made my day!....from dreary to glorious colours...palette of sunshine and joy!.. This is bonanza of your potted plants! Tqtqtq for sharing...🥰🥰
What a creative set up! Best feature... the sound of the fountain in the background ... I do love the planters, but the sound of the fountain was the best 😅
Wow grip equipment. My hubbie's a grip in L.A. 3 decades now, there 3wks, home/WA 1 week... Next are shiny boards... good going! Hubbie knew the 2 fellow grips who invented ring light! Now millionaires! -- Plant pots are so awesome... always!! All are amazing! PVSBs did survive winter though in the barn at Lat 48 here in WA. Love love all your hard work, you're such a marvel!
The Gomphrena fades more here in the South.I have an arrangement I did yesterday with pink hydrangeas and pink gomphrenas in my grandmother's blue glazed clay pitcher, love it. All the pots are looking beautiful! I love the "pot full of sunshine " as well.
Thank you so much for listing the flower names in your description! It’s May again and I love watching what you did last year to inspire what I can do this year!
I loved seeing the containers with the different types of plants and different numbers of plants in them. I always end up seeing new plants in your videos that I'd love to have! Thanks for the introductions and for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us! I learn sooooo much from you, Laura!
They have all grown so beautiful. It was so nice of y’all to set them up on the table so we can all have a close up view of them. All of the information you provided on each container will definitely help me when picking out plants to plant together. Thank you! It was fun watching the updates on these containers. They have all grown so much. Luv them all but 1, 6, 7 and 10 were my favs 🥰
This was such a fun video. I love seeing the containers with fewer plants because this is the way a lot of us like to plant. So many gorgeous combinations! Very inspirational. Thank you so much!!
I haven't watched your show since last year this time, we are in the Southern Hemisphere in mid winter here, so its an inspiration to see all the colour and prepare ourselves for the forthcoming spring season this side. Love the colour and combinations, my favourite kind of garden. Gaillardia always a winner. Thank you, thank you!
Truly love your videos!😍😍😍😍🤩 Amazing! Just wondering what you add in your containers? Is it some sort of fertilizer? I'm afraid to add anything when I'm planting in my containers.
I love the dichondra silver falls because of you. I bought some this year and put it in my green and white front porch garden. I was so excited when I saw it!
Love those yellow and purple flowers. That Sparkling Amethyst is glorious. So wish I could get one of those. The Calendula is my other favorite out of all these containers. Would love to have one of those plants. Thanks for the update.
Love to have some planters like these. They all are amazing. You really inspire me to want to be a better gardener. I really didn’t have a lot interest till I had to redo my landscaping because it looked horrible. Now I really enjoy it and enjoying watching all your video projects!
Loving that calm and clear look of containers. And very glad to see that this year you are actually doing some maintainance with containers. Appreciated 👍👍
LOVE the second pot!!! The Dolores were beautiful! The black current punch and watermelon punch are AMAZING together also! I’m looking forward to getting some next season! ❤️

*Dandy, *sedum, and *shift...not candy, serum, and shirt....autocorrect!
That lazy Susan is a game changer in arranging flowers in a pot or vase.😊
I love the container behind her! Wish she would talk about that one.

Love that Gaillardia in the pot. Gorgeous💖 Oh! and that second container🤗just gorgeous! The softer colours give it a real old world look🥰
So beautiful. I have started to copy you. You are amazing!. Thank you for your videos.
Finished my coffee with Laura. Now it’s time to go and deadhead my flowers. Thanks for another great video.

Yep Pentas do grow well here in the South, great plant for hummingbirds
Thank you, and Aaron, for going through all that trouble to present these pots for our benefit. Off to plant something, anything! 😄🌱🌼
Flower alley is so great because those of us with smaller spaces can apply the knowlege attempt to recreate it!

Absolutely stealing the look with the African daisy, coleus and sweet potato vine combo then adding some white varieties for my window boxes 😻
I just absolutely love coming back to these videos when I'm opening my containers! So many great ideas, & so helpful to see their compatibility with certain things.
Thanks so much for doing this...I actually took notes of the ones I want to try next year. It was like window shopping!😊

That pot #7 with all the "punch" varieties in it is really stunning, and I love how #10 is turning out, since it was my favorite combination!
I planted Supertunia honey and it doesn't even come close to yours 😲😲😲 I'm lucky if I get even 5 blooms. In sun all day and I fertilize too.

No. 6 looked like a turkey too.. luv it!
Oh that superbena, mauve, what a glorious plant and those yellow daisies. All those pots are pretty. 🤗🌺

She did that once by the bench under her Red Bud tree.

Yes.

Good morning!!! I really need to trim my containers but cutting off flowers makes me want to cry! Lol. You’ve inspired me to just go for it!
