This was SO helpful! I designed a large decal for a water bottle with lots of holes in it (a name, a small volleyball) and was starting to get stressed out about applying it and air bubbles. This was the perfect solution! I can't wait to use it later this week when I'm applying an 11"x14" monogram to a metal box for a customer!
Dont know if you guys cares but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all the latest series on Instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend for the last few days :)
Maybe this is a stupid question, I am a beginner with a new machine :) But.... How did you get that so long? Do you just set the machine to however long you need and not use a mat? Is there a tutorial for doing this?
You are correct. We made a tutorial about it quite some time ago. There are some differences in the Studio software now, but it is generally the same. Cutting Larger Than The Mat With Silhouette Cameo
No, the wet method would not work on that project for a few reasons. Most importantly, adhesive vinyl is only intended to be applied to hard substrates, not fabric. For nylon, you would need a heat transfer vinyl, I would recommend EasyWeed Extra or any other heat transfer material that says it will adhere to nylon (as not all of them will). Thanks for watching, and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
Teresa, Any vinyl with a permanent adhesive will work great. Our Series 51, Oracal 651 and our glitters are all permanent. expressionsvinyl.com/adhesive-vinyl.html
That's what I think every time I see one of these presentations.Years ago, I worked for a sign guy and he said I was the first one that didn't waste as much as I used. I saved him a ton of money he said. These people are going for easy not skill or thriftiness and I suppose they want us to waste it so we buy more.
We did use a lot of vinyl for this. It depends on where you want to save, time or money. The $5.00 of vinyl I wasted was well worth it to me, to speed up the application process. 631 is pretty cheap in price considering how much these signs sell for in stores.

Does this method work for putting vinyl on denim?
So this method can't be done with indoor vinyl? I am trying to do acrylic blanks and was hoping it would work with regular indoor vinyl.
No, the wet application can't be used with removable vinyl since the adhesive is water soluble.
@@Expressionsvinyls I am constantly getting bubbles with removable vinyl. What method would you recommend with that?
@@krystalminton8799 here is a video that might be helpful with getting bubbles out th-cam.com/video/XGydZQtDhys/w-d-xo.html
What brand paper transfer tape did you use

How did you cut that large (long)?
Is the wet method only good for large projects?
It could be used for any size project. Generally it is not necessary on smaller projects.
Awesome thanks

I'm making a flag do you think the wet method would work on the nylon fabric?

Expressions Vinyl Can the oracal 651 be removed easily from a window when done?
yes it can
I get bubbles installing vinyl on glass. Would the Wet method work better for it? Thanks
The wet method might help so that you do not get the bubbles, we would suggest doing a test area to see if it will work for you.
Thank you very much
what is the purpose of the wet application ?
So you have time to adjust your vinyl and get it in the right spot. It is more commonly used on vehicles or boat decals.
As an old school vinyl applicator, I just can not believe how much vinyl you are wasting.
Andre van Wyk Unbelievable waste of vinyl! That stuff isn't cheap!

Time is money & the amount of time it would take to place all those pieces individually is not worth it in my opinion as a sign maker
Andre van Wyk why dont you do a tutorial on this matter so we may learn from the expert.
👍👍👍
What kind of transfer tape are you using?
I am using the paper transfer tape in the 12" roll. expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape-rolls.html
What kind of exacto knife are you using???
Hi, how much time do you have to adjust or move the vinyl?
You will have a few minutes (about 2-3) before the water starts to evaporate and you can no longer make your adjustments. Thanks for watching!
