I know this is a video for the V196 but the dynamic range on the mini 4 pro is so much better then my MP3. I was looking more at the video quality of the m4p.
ONE question ... I didn't hear anything about what happens if this drone goes out of range ... otherwise, it seems like a near perfect training drone ...
Do you do your own editing, or do you have someone edit the footage for you? Either way, it is very well done. Good choice to save the actual drone footage for the later part of the video; not the drone's best feature, but for the price, something kids will have fun flying without the same concern of having a DJI drone $$$ disappear never to be found.

Ah, but then you are stuck with a drone with a built in camera you can't remove. Once you own a portable external camera, you can stick it on anything.
Great review. Do you have a recommendation for a super stable cheap drone with a decent payload? I would like to get one, rip off camera and replace witha. go pro or X4 as an attachment. In fact, I'd love for a company to make a drone that just focuses on the flight and payload capabilities. Then make attachments so you can add your own camera or phone.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I’m looking at the AE86 Pro Max+ It’s not as cheap but sub $500 AUD is still relatively cheap compared to the rest for its given specs. I’m still on the fence with it. On paper it’s impressive. 8000maH battery and 800g payload, 18km range, in-built screen on the controller. It says 8k camera but we all know what means. No details on the sensor nor sensor size. Retailer seems mum on the details. Range and flight seems to check out. There’s an Indonesian reviewer that has done a fair bit on it, albeit in Indonesian. Chat GPT doesn’t quite translate in realtime in my region yet. Anyway, appreciate the reviews of Non-DJI drones. Keep it up!
The camera of these drones is not really "zoomed in" in purpose. It is just that the SOC in these drones is so crappy that it can't handle real-time 480P (or 240P) compression and casting. So it basically takes a TINY portion of the sensor to work with, maybe 240x120, so it's just zoomed because it is cropped. It happens with all under ~100€ drones because they probably use the same SOC and cameras. These drones at least fly fine for 6-10 minutes, so of course a tiny camera attached would be the ideal solution. But unfortunately the Insta360 Go, which is the only decent micro-camera in the market, is stupidly overpriced. You are basically wasting a 400€ camera (if you get the Go 3s) in a 50€ drone. A real Quelima SQ12 would be almost acceptable, but it is basically impossible nowadays to get a real Quelima camera, 99,99999% of them are clones.
Well, you have to give props for knowing how to get attention. Everyone made Mavic looking drones with cheap components. 1st we had "Mini Phantoms" - Mini because it was too expensive to provide enough horsepower to move a large drone. THESE NUTS decided to skip over all that Consumer Model Modeling, and go straight for the Pro Model. That's a really BIG BITE to take, and the results are, well - predictable to a "LARGE EXTENT" - pun intended, LOL. But so confusing!!! A sub 250 gram INSPIRE? - That's SMALL? This is confusing. Wait - so, it zips along pretty good. Has Obstacle Avoidance (for whatever it's worth) and hovers fairly stable. For $48 bucks Canadian. Huh. How DO they do it, lol. The insta360 camera looked good! I think the logo said "Think Bold" - Yes, actually "Think viewable" works even better!

Unfortunately the batteries are only sold with the drone at time of purchase. Sometimes if someone destroys their drone they sell the batteries on eBay.

Heck this will be a starter drone from my Son. I guess i could worst case order another few drones ensuring that i purchase the 3-battery pack that i have saw somewhere? I can use the additional drones for parts as i am sure that the Boy will crash a few times during the learning process. What do you think Captain? Thanks
FPV has started to peak my interest, it's like VR in as much as it's insane sc-fi level future tech, just now, it's one of those things that it would be criminal not to try. Thing is, I want to add FPV to 1 of my helis and not a drone. Aynhooose, putting that aside, these cheap drones, can they send the video signal to an FPV headset? If not I guess it's not much more than a toy, I mean it's a very cheap toy with lots of features.
It is designed for totally newbie beginners that have no knowledge of flying an FPV drone and no knowledge of how everything works together in the FPV hobby.
Feeling a little bit condescending towards people looking at drones on the budget end of the spectrum, "for the person with very little money", and "costs next to nothing", I wouldn't say 75$ for a Toy is next to nothing, perhaps a step towards commiting to something more expensive would be more appropriate.
Condescending? Oh God here we go. Do you live in the USA? Would you buy a $3000 US drone? Probably not. if paying $3000 US for a drone is out of the question for you, then it is because you’re either not a fan of drones or you’re on a budget. Most humans are on a budget and don’t have $3000 US to spend each year on a drone. Those people often comment saying they don’t have much money, or no money (depending which country they live in) and often request that I review drones under $100 for people on a budget. The reason I review low cost drones occasionally is due to viewer requests.

You might be getting to sound a little bit like a classic older gentleman in the R/C club, who starts scoffing and n00bies who haven't spent 1000$ minimum on proper Aircraft. I personally watch some of your reviews as I'm not ready to commit to at least a Mini SE or expensive FPV (which you seem to get a lot of for free) so a review on a drone like this might be applicable. You can do whatever you want with your channel, become elitist about your hobby if you like, your subs too loose out on.

Wasn't it $50? Yes, it isn't nothing and for some people it is a weekly budget (not in Canada). But if you want to have a drone, it is nearly impossible to spend less than this. Especially with brushless motors and obstacle avoidance. "commiting to something more expensive would be more appropriate" - this is "just don't be poor" kind of solution. Sometimes more expensive = can't buy. At least the video recommends something for people who can't afford to spend more, and explicitly mentions downsides like range and camera.
For the price it's fab and for a beginner it is perfect. Nice one Steve 👍.
