The Marathi movie industry is one of the most under-rated amongst masses in India. But they in their own way silently and rigorously keep producing gems. No crazy stardom, fandom, arguments.. just pure concept and strength of the story.

gud dun Yup. Somehow while the perception about movies and their depiction changed Marathi Cinema has to an extent stayed true to those roots.
I am from Varanasi and I must say Marathi hi film industry is the best regional film industry in India. It produces the most meaningful cinemas of all the region's.

Another awesome Marathi movie in the making. This is the reason why I watch like 3 to 4 decent Bollywood movies every year and have watched almost all Marathi gems like Ventilator for instance. Will surely look forward to this one.

I am not against such realistic Movies. there are audiences for such movies. But I also think that when I go to Theatre to watch movie I dont want a philosophical, ethical lecture as to how live life. I want to forget my stress for 2 hours and enjoy and laugh.

Marathi Cinema is the best Indian Cinema. Amazing stories, inspiring actors and all these movies have that earthy Indian marathi feel to them!

I'm glad you got perri. finally you're getting people who are genuine movie buffs and can give best reactions and comments.
When i feel the need to watch a simply touching, quality movie, that would move me i see marathi movie.
When i feel like watching something fascinating, and urban in feel and creative , something that has a completely different perspective .. i see a hollywood movie.
When i feel like laughing a lot and just watching something fun without thing of the logics and dynamics i go for south indian movie.
When i feel that that there is nothing left in life and everything is worthless anyways .. i see a hindi movie.
BUT WHEN I COME TO KNOW ABOUT A MOVIE THAT IS GOOD, I WATCH IT IRRESPECTIVE OF LANGUAGE, OR INDUSTRY.
I think every movie made in India is a part of us, and contributes to the content we will create in the future. It shapes our culture and society. Every society is shaped by its content in a way.
while most of the world has been dominated by western values and standards, India is one of those societies which has remained less dominated for years.
South Indian film industries even though they are deemed to be over the top, is justified coz they want to do things their way and they make content that connects to the people there.
At the same time they also produce some movies that fit according to the western standards.
Same goes for all the film industries in India.
The marathi film industry has to survive with the audience that has been exposed to powerful acts,plays and theaters for decades, hence they produce more mature stuff meant to move people. But they often produce over the top movies too, which dont become a hit though.
Let us accept all kind of movies and become as versatile as we can. Lets not become single minded and claim one industry is better than other. LETS BE A COLORFUL SOCIETY, A MIXTURE OF ALL COLORS.

Jaby, got to tell you man.. Because of your reactions, I am getting to see and know about different movies from different regions of India.
India itself is like a world made up of different culture, language, etc in every region/state. Big daddy "Bollywood" overshadows every other cinema in this country. "Bollywood" should probably take a stand and start promoting movies from other regions as well.

Himesh Thungaturthi I am too from Hyderabad just yesterday I came back from Maharashtra I have been to Mumbai and Pune on a visit and nearby I would like to de^ script as Mumbai city is overpopulated I can see big^big buildings and besides its there are slums and old buildings which are many...
I have seen many people in Mumbai are speaking in Hindi and very less in Marathi this is because due to high immigration from the Hindi states and also do travelled to Pune where I have seen people speaking in Marathi to some extent n I use Hindi as well as English for the purpose of communication.
Himesh Thungaturthi most of the Maharashtriyan speak hindi as well as English... your r outsider that's why they speak with u in hindi bcuz u don't understand Marathi... if u understand they also talk with u in Marathi language...

@@himeshthungaturthi3215 it's sad that majority of marathi speaking are only in rural areas marathi speaking people are decreasing in cities they give priority to speak in English and hindi people here are not like South people who are more proud of their language than any other language

Hey Jabby. I would wan't you to do more reaction/reviews of Marathi films and trailers because those are more concept driven rather than subject driven. I personally feel that you would relate and enjoy Marathi films more often than not.
There is a lot of debate going on as to whether such realistic movies are good or not? I think it will never end. Neither side will give in. I just believe that cinema is a very powerful medium. It can influence, influence masses. It can make ideologies, invoke ideas and make you reconsider your way of life. If we make simple movies which deliver a positive message, I don't believe it is stressful and boring. We do go out for movies to relieve stress. But I can bet that a simple whole-hearted movie , which inspires is definitely a stress-buster for me. It gives me courage to hope and aspire further. So I am all in for the great movie experience such movies have to offer :D
I also have same opinion all film industry in India has all type of genres but film that show reality are always have controversial sometimes it is banned
