- I've always had a love for the Tony Hawk video games series, and find the history of game making interesting in general.
Join me as we deepdive into what many believe to be the greatest video game of all time. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 , released in 2001 was an absolute classic, and I think you'll agree too.

FYI - Skater's Island was based on a real life skatepark (except the pirate ship area obviously), so they didn't design it in full. Apparently the real life venue burned down a few years after THPS3 released.

@@TheJampott91 I swear if you say THUG there will be fighting words 😅😂 Seriously, I do love THPS3. I just think it’s the tightest of the original 3 and it’s the one I go back to the most when I need a quick THPS fix. Shame it never got the remaster/remake treatment like the first 2
@@danmann861 well then i guess we need to go and buy swords as there's going to be a duel 🤣 i heard rumours that they were going to HD remake all of them, 2 games at a time, but i've not heard anything about it in ages
You speak facts. THPS3 perfected the formula. Extremely solid controls, fantastic levels all the way through, no unnecessary bloat and a rewarding grind for completionists.
(Incidentally I just hit 100% completion on it a few days ago for the first time ever. Loved every minute of it.)
The jump from n64>gamecube and ps1>ps2 was amazing back then

If you intend to go through most/ all TH games, do you intend to make a sort of summary video? Maybe ranking or ordering them in some way?
Yep that’s the plan 😊 I’m looking forward to proving grounds as I never actually played that one! But yes, a compilation/ranking vid will be in the works

Not even 2 minutes in and I am annoyed af because of the stretched image. Just why? It's one thing to record off of the console or something with a blurry, laggy image but stretching is a no-go. Got this video recommended, looked promising but it took me out of everything very fast.
thanks for the feedback. 4:3 videos always look weird to me as they either don't fit on a pc screen or phone fully, or you get black edges around the video. If i was speedrunning and could put something to the side of it then i think it'd work, but when its just gameplay in the background i can't really think of any other way to fill the screen. Thanks for the comment though!
@@TheJampott91 you know it was a different time. TVs weren't in widescreen and therefore content was mostly in that format. It doesn't matter if it doesn't fill the screen, if it bothers you, you can put some dimmed artwork at the sides for example. It's impossible to get every aspect ratio for every screen because some phones have 18,5:9 or 21:9, some monitors are still 4:3, 16:9 is the most common and 21:9 is also possible. It's more important that it looks right, not cut or stretched. On every screen with 21:9 even the most Videos will have black bars, like on my phone here, but that doesn't really matter as long as it looks right.
Great work! Moving forward, I won't know anything about the THPS series. By the time I finished with 3, I just felt that I needed a break. Honestly, I felt like I hit the snooze button on the series, and I went from being behind on 4 to Tony Hawk's American Wasteland.
Ah that’s such a shame! For me, 4 and Underground 1 were some of the best games! I’ll try to sway you to buy them 😂

Bam was also part of Toy Machine in the mid/late 90’s! CKY and Jackass definitely gave him his biggest break but he was no slouch on the board either!
