I am impressed with the Chiyapoon accomodation . Great price and a Safe Box , learn to keep your Passport in there at least . I would be happy to book this place if there are no Gecko's in the room ( big problem in Thailand and unacceptable for most ladies ) and if there are no Cell Towers very close beaming in extreme radiation and making it impossible to sleep .
Dang, that is the place I stay whenever I take my trips to Pattaya! if you don't believe me I left a book there in the library down stairs it is in red letters and it is Called Mr. Monk Goes to Hawaii, very light reading but who reads when their in Pattaya? THIS GUY! Room 502 that is the room I always ask for. I don't mind the walk up the stairs it ain't that bad and the room is quite nice. Stayed in the other room on that floor was the same but I didn't like it . Thanks for going to Pepper & Salt. I have been wanting to give it a go and this convinced me that next trip I will be going there food looked GREAT!

My first visit to Thailand 1999 for cobra gold, Pattaya, etc. Then 2001 for the same exercise. Then I married my Thai wife 2002. Normally, we be over there yearly, but it's been 7 years now, so back we go. 😊

I stayed here. Bathroom was a bit manky. T.V. had sketchy reception. Initial friendliness wore off after I brought a guest (same every time). But overall, room was big and location (less running the LB gauntlet) was good.
Hi Lucas, do you feel safe parking your motorbike all around Pattaya? I've read that there are gangs that specialize in stealing motorbikes.. which is why Im too worried to rent a motorbike. Any tips or advice? Thank you.
Ive been to pattaya .. Girls just jump out at you from every bar trying to get you to spend some money. Its crazy. My poor wife had a horrible time, being that she's asian and eveyone looked at her like a prostitute. Other than that, amazing place and amazing time. Everything is SUPER CHEAP
495 baht for lamb chops! The second worse thing about Pattaya is the food, although the lamb stew looks good. This is an excellent channel. Fills the gap between JC and the departed Kev.
Four miles isn't so bad if you have a driver, but IMHO, a four mile jaunt from Patts to the dark side if I'm having to drive or take a scooter (which I never do) isn't worth it. That's just what's comfortable for me.

Good vid mate ...... my last three visits to Pattaya i've stayed at the Chaiyapoon inn each time , it's ideally situated in the center of town and i always book a Deluxe room with balcony and always enjoyed it ....... never had a problem and the reception is staffed 24hrs ....... will be back there next visit when this virus has gone away .......
I stayed at the Chaiyapoon Inn a couple of years ago. The room was nice and clean and I got the Internet 500 Baht special. The only negative for me were the long series of steps to the top floor. I saw a video about The Pepper & Salt restaurant from "Kev in Thailand" when he was still doing you-tube videos. He said this was one of his favorite restaurants in all of Thailand! That lamb stew looked so good it got me drooling!

That's awesome! I stayed at Chayapoon inn/apartment in the last week of January. I got the downstairs room with no window. Sewer gas came into the bathroom during the day but other than that it was a fantastic stay. The lady at the desk was very nice and kind of cute too! I chose it because it's just down from triangle bar. One of my favorite hangouts. They have a fantastic band and I love it when Nancy is singing with them. She is a real class act. That area is most definitely my happy place!
I have been doing that in the Philippines for years . Just restock what I use before I check out . Great video as always . I have never been to Thailand but your videos have inspired me to plan a trip soon .
Sometimes places with no window are a bonus if it is a noisy street. It was that way when I was in Phnom Penh I was happier with the hotel I stayed at than one with a nice balcony. Your dinner looked good but I prefer mustard with my potato salad.
I will have to explore "the dark side" of Pattaya next time. I met a couple of fellow travelers that were telling me about some semi secret agogo bars out there. Your information answers a lot of my questions. Great job.

I stayed there for about 3 weeks a few years ago. Stayed on third floor I think. Was really good but got a bit noisy late at night when the boy places opened. I normally stay out late anyway so no real problem fir me.
I stayed in that dreadful place a few years ago (worst place I ever stayed in 45 years of world travel) - and had (I think) the same room. The door lock button didn't always lock (they claimed to have repaired it, twice, to no avail) and the safe frequently wouldn't open. The owner arrived and gave me a lecture on how to treat his hotel, as if I was ten... The second evening I returned to the place and, before I could ask, I was given my room key - but it was for another room... Good security, not. The next morning I refused to hand the key in and the owner was called, and insisted (on the phone) I HAD to leave it in reception. I told him I would happily leave it there for ever, if he would refund me my last four days... Guess what happened... 555. Sorry to be negative... so let me add, the water back then WAS free... ;-)
So a few years back i stayed at the Amari Orchid and was sick and drank a few cokes and water out of the frige i went to 7/11 and replaced them before i checked out...
Another great hotel review, if you haven't already tried it, 18 coins hotel on Soi Buakhao as some good rooms for decent rates. I stayed there on my last visit, be interested to see what you think of it.

Some places put a hotel label on the stuff in the mini fridge to keep customers from doing that.
if it was an actual mini bar you would have been charged. If you move anything out it trips a fault.

An Aussie lamb stew for $12. Good value. Couldn't get it for that in Australia. Try $20 - $30 at a pub.

Used to know a nice English guy by the name of Lindsay who had a ma and pa shop in this soi. Seems to have changed a fair bit since then.
