    Smiled through the whole video. Loved seeing my old rally buddies. Norm , RJ
    and Gretchen. And of course my old black 10 gal. Heinrich tank that carried me on my 74 90/s over a hundred thousand miles between ‘ 87 & O5’ . Thanks .

      Thank you so much for your comment. These rally buddies are friends for life. So that black 10 gal. Heinrich Tank was yours? I hope RJ will put to some good use soon!

      Thank you so much for those kind words. The friendship turned into a brotherhood over this project. Truly amazing. And yes, i will post more Airhead content. Stay tuned!

    Hi there from Switzerland, You all do so a great job. The airhead always was my dream, now i have a 100RT from '79 and a 80RT from '86 for about 13 years. Love the sound and riding it trough the mountains. and i'll never give them away.

    • @andymueller82
      @andymueller82  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, these older airheads get into your blood somehow, don't they? I bet you have some beautiful riding in Switzerland!

      @traebbeRT ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andymueller82 yes they do, more than even Harleys can 🤪. There are great routes here, i even can't post pictures, but perhaps better, they will make you jealous. By the way, i restore voltmeters and clocks of the airheads and have several to sell, even those of the 90s and early /7 with the red pointers and the white types, which are realy rare.

      @@traebbeRT Hi again, I am looking for a period correct Voltmeter for my 1977 R100RS (with white numbers). Might need to chat about this some more.

    So glad to see such a rare bike back on the road! The first series RS is one of the few BMWs I haven't owned, but I'm still looking. Glad you junked the Lesters!

    • @andymueller82
      @andymueller82  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I was going to put the Lester's back on to preserve the almost pristine spoke wheels, but love the spoke wheel look so much that i can't get myself to do it. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Thanks - enjoyed that! I have a 77rs, too. Every now and again I think I should sell it but I know I'd regret it not being around!

      Hi there, I'm doing a little research on the on the early R77's, would love to know: Production Date, do you have a SN matching decal in the inside of fairing or on one of the lowers? Last 3 digits of SN? Yeah, don't sell it! You would regret it! (I'm biased though).

    • @garyprince2867
      @garyprince2867 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andymueller82 It's a non-US model, with 3356 as the last 4 digits - April 77 build.

    Hello from Switzerland, Europe, the old world.
    Have a 1980 R 100 RS in my garage, thas was completely restored in an official BMW garage. Matching numbers.
    I' m an fan of these old flat- twins. Probably because my father was swiss,and my mother german, .....from Bavaria.
    Have three others in my garage, all with matching numbers.
    The oldest one is a rare R 60 US ( 1969) bought 1978 with my first salary....

      @andymueller82  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is so amazing that you still have the R60. They are wonderful bikes, I wish I could ride mine in Europe sometime. Thanks for the comment!

    The 1965 - 69 BMW RS with Earls Forks and a sidecar was one of the best-looking Beemers ever made!

      If you are referring to the R69S, that is one of my favorite bikes as well. I don't need any more, but that is one I would add to my flock.

      Yes correct. We liked the white outline on the speedo/odo. This bike is not a 100% authentic restore, we made it functional and rideable for me. There are many non-stock items but still looks fairly "stock"

      It was so much fun Eric! Literally started as good friends, ended the build as brothers. We all miss those weekends, Lew and I constantly goofing off, while RJ is keeping the build going! Many beers were crushed during this build.
