They actually doing this in some places. I forgot whether it was in ga or nc USA but they have a park for adults to do parkour to prevent people from going onto buildings and getting hurt and they keep a cop on site Incase injury happens.

100% Yes. Too many people believe the joys of movement are only for children and it shows how our society is built in a way that breaks us down until we believe those things. It made me think about how they stop doing recess once you get to middle school, but even adults need to get outside and move their bodies in fun/interesting/challenging ways to be healthy. We should not be expected to sit all the time like we are. It is honestly so weird how people will judge you or think weird of you for jumping on something. We are apes after all, we are meant to move like this.

Everyone think it’s stupid to do par core and I feel really shy to tell my parents I want to find someone to teach me. I like in a small town that has no gymnastics gym or anything like that so how am I supposed to train? I want my friends to appreciate me of who I am and who I want to be but all the do it laugh :(

    • @spaghettiisnice6883

Then they arent your real friends. And you dont need much to train parkour really, get creative! Lines on the ground, curbs, tables, trees, bars and soo much more! Just tell your parents what you want to become and if they dont let you do it then just go outside and practice without letting them know it. It is your life and you decide what you want to be. Trust me, the more you train the better you'll become :)

One day I went to my favorite tree to practice my movement and my body just naturally climbed all the way up it. That is the problem too if you have school etc. You should try as much as you can to focus on your homework and your things you want to dream of and do. Mostly now you should focus on your homework to finish early and do the other stuff you dreaming of. Right now I love parkour so much and I'm good because I finished school early and i focused as much as I can on my homework. And when I was young I always did my homework when I came home then ate my launch. So do like what I said and trust me everything will be cool and ok

Ronnie, I have a very important question. How easy would it be for me to get back into parkour? I used to be a professional and teach at a local gym. One day I was out with two friends of mine doing parkour and I wasn't able to get into my safety roll fast enough and ended up hurting my spine and collar bone. I really want to get back into parkour again so I could teach the people at my local gym again.

Chloe The Girly Gamer Just go back into parkour as you feel it, progressively, don't throw your hardest move right away, slowly make sure you can do all of thz basics and ascend to the harder moves until you reach the point you were at when you got injuried.

A Parkour Journey it puts pressure on my neck however when I try and do a basic safety roll. I've tried low safety rolls to try and ease into it but if I can't safety roll it's going to be difficult to get into harder things

Gotta get that collar bone strenght up first, work your body and mind. That is your temple, get that "my spine and collar are messed up" replace them for " I will find a way to heal them, through the power of mind and nature. Just gotta focus, and train to get your strenght up, and sorry about the accident. Don't let that turn into a limitation. Good day yall

What I like about parkour is that it uses body weight, momentum, and flexibility to keep body and mind healthy and sharp. It is safety training and situation awareness. I am almost 60 but I would like to start by quadrupedal movement to get some upper body and core strength, limb coordination, and stamina. I saw how quadrupedal can make older ppl get back strength and flexibility. Each person’s training is a journey of consistency, overcoming obstacles, and building confidence. It isn’t about flashy tricks or Spider-Man moves. I like your philosophy and teaching (mental, not just technical).

There isn't one easiest flip. Which is the easiest depends on the person. For some ppl it's frontflip because it seems to be the least scary, for some it's backflip because it's easier to spot the ground while landingand get the rotation. There's also sideflip doing which you can also spot the ground. Beside these 3 basic ones there are some other supposedly easy ones like cheat gainer, wallflip, swing gainer or russian frontflip and even though most of them are said to "require" one of these 3 it is possible to learn them first. But if you're just desperate trying to learn just one flip to show off I'd recommend trying the 3 basic ones :)

You can train in the morning. When it's wet just make sure to incorporate that in your movement, don't jump as far or use safety vaults for example. Also puddles are great natural obstacles.
When training in the dark make sure to wear visible clothing so that people don't get scared or run you over.

Yes that's true because, the impact of any obstacle can hurt you when you fall or slip or anything that makes you fall. But remember, if you fall, you are learning body movement, controlling your fears. Every drop you get, your learning and, controlling, so if you start now when you fall, your learning control, so like Ronnie says " train safe "

dude, i love climbing stuff, i love vaults, i love rolling, i love traversing obstacles. this is the reason i started diy parkour when i was in middle school. until now i had forgot about it. but this year im starting to want to get into it again. i love swordsmanship, i love having a bout with my friends, i love archery, yes, but this is different.
when i was in middle school, i used to do aikido. i loved going there, why? because they had all this padded stuff on the ground that i could do anything i wanted on before class. they used to stack them up when class was over, so we used to climb them during PE class, thats when i learned most of my climbup skill and tic tacs and etc that i now lost. i used to do massive dive rolls on that padded ground, then i progressed onto concrete, then i started climbing and wallrunning onto walls and stuff.
then i was taken into the adult/teen programme in the dojo, after doing that for a year, i decided that i actually only ever liked the gym itself and that aikido was boring af and didnt teach me anything either. if within 3 years all you ever learned is how to politely put your cooperative partner down onto the padded ground tiles, you know something is wrong. i tried almost all of those "techniques" on my friends, 99% of them didnt work. of the 1% that did work, they only worked offensively, when they didnt expect it (as in, we werent really fighting) and even then it worked less than half the time. there was ONE TIME that a move actually worked while we were fighting, very very lightly, just messing with each other, and even then my friend wasnt fully aware of what was going on when i didnt and couldnt offer any notable resistance.
if a martial art relies on your opponent not being aware of what youre doing and letting you do it, or if it relies on your opponent being limp, or having 'less action points' than you, then its martial my arse.

I stopped doing parkour in September of 2017. I tried doing a speed vault over a handrail at my school, but I clipped my feet and fell onto my back pretty hard (luckily it was on grass). I passed out and woke up with a massive headache. Since then, I’ve been avoiding any situation where I could do a vault. But now, after weeks of practice, I can now safely do a vault over handrails or benches.
