So I decided to try one more game while the video was uploading and I managed to find a game that gave me 80 latency instead of the usual 140. Unfortunately I can't say that the game felt that much better to play because it really didn't. It felt more or less the same. Which kind of leads me to believe the combat was much worse than I originally thought. If you've played the game let me know if you experienced better because I don't know what to make of how bad this game feels to play...

the only thing that keeps me from playing, is a bug on the last objective when you interact with a control panel, i doesn't let you press the panel buttons and can't exit the panel so you just have to quit and lose your character

this game is nothing more than a complete disaster and disappointment comared to the first game, the first game was masterpiece in word man. this game is gonna not live long, in a year or 2 highly this game would be dead and may deleted from the store pages completely.

Pretty sure I heard somewhere that the game was originally supposed to be made in Unreal Engine 4 which the original devs had years to make and polished. Torn banner bought them and made them scrap years of work, hence why they made it in Unreal 5 instead with all the bugs and glitches within just a few months till the release of the game. Bunch of bad decisions overall.

Overkill's The Walking Dead all over again huh?
Years of devtime scrapped because of an engine change in the final year before release.
Sure the circumstances were different. But why does this keep happening. So much time and effort wasted because of last minute major changes requiring reworking and remaking systems or the entire game...

    • @cjsmom524

@@doggiethepug overkills the walking dead's launch was awful but at least the devs tried to fix it, skybound ruined those chances from happening though.
to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if torn banner just abandons the game or takes 3 years to update it to a somewhat playable state

Man i see this happen a few times. This same thing happened to H-Hour, the spiritual successor to the Socom series from the PS2 days. It was doing well, looking great, playing great. Then they pull a 180 and swap engines. At the time i think it was from Unreal 3 to 4 lol. The kicker was the main dev from the original games left after the engine swap so all the magic he made in the old engine was just POOF... gone, and the game turned into Amateur-Hour.

I’m sick of the early access excuse for broken/ 10%-15% of a product that demands 30-40 bucks. Early access used to be a game will be released 75% completed but needs more funding for the last 25%. Now people are taking advantage of it releasing 10% of a product with the promise of finishing it 5-6 years from now 🤦‍♂️. Majority of early access games never make it to release, kinda like a scam.

It’s always funny to read comments from people that clearly don’t comprehend how labor intensive things are made or how expensive things actually are. This ain’t the 90’s or early 2000’s with crap graphics and small maps anymore. It takes a lot more time and money anymore just to have a Karan acting B like you to still complain.

Forget the techical problems, those can be fixed.
The true problem lies in the fact that Torn Banner completely screwed what the game was supposed to be to chase that current fad of making an extraction shooter.
Six years of developement was scrapped from the original team and the last two years have been wasted to create a game that they admitted not being a sequel to NMRIH1
Instead of chokepoints and clear but challenging maps we get single open world map, the infection system what was integral to the original is still missing which is completely insane. The fact that this game has mostly slow zombies and there is no running exhaustion means that you just really dont need to get stuck in the zombies until the power plant. Before the power plant you also have all the guns and ammo you could ever want, no scarcity here!
This game plays more like Back4Blood than NMRIH1, and that is kinda sad.

Kids with brainrot protecting this crap "early access" its not 15% of the game its like 80%.... even without bugs this game is boring, i won on first go with 90 min, 4/8 survivors, map is only 1 and EVERY run is the same ( drop puzzles etc) so what else to do? for half this price you can get killing floor, dayz, left4dead, project zomboid, all of these games are for hours or years. So dont listen to youtubers payed to talk positivly and other kids that protect this shit. ive uploaded 3 parts of my first run that i won you can check it out, couldnt aim, couldnt heal, couldnt walk, flying heads, could pick some items and weapons etc etc etc.... and zombies look like justin bieber not zombie ( i do daily autopsies, they dont even look like dead human at all)
ps. remember all the lies even in trailer ? MASSIVE REPLAYABILITY - 1 map same all the time :D...

im an old guy on an old rig with my graphics turned down and im 6 for 7 on extractions. I did 1 from beginning to end on nightmare difficulty using only the starter equipment. And it was all with pugs. There were a few lag spikes and some of the zombies are uber tough but I had no problem completing at will. This is a more a strategy game to avoid fighting until you have to and reducing how much attention you attract. imho

Still remember the first time i played the og mod. I had such a crappy pc that i could barely play on a few maps and even then i usually didnt last long. Heck i even managed to "play with" THE Pewdiepie (proof is his first video on no more room in hell, my nickname shows up) before i even knew who he was.
Played it a few times since then but i find that its too piss easy to get infected and the kids are still a bitch to deal with. Not to mention quite a lot of players were very keen on shooting players not in their friends groups.

As i said on my steam review, this game's foundation is there. It's just the bugs and issues that really kill the experience. Bugs aside my only complaint about the game is the lack of RNG elements it has. It's very similar to how it is in the first one which is there's usually a weapon or item here but what is there is often random. Now that's fine for NMRIH 1 but NMRIH 2 is an open world game so i feel to keep things fresh, RNG should be a factor. environmental RNG, zombie RNG and item RNG and so on. Like if you go to the Church i am pretty sure you'll find a weapon on the pulpit and you will always find a screamer at the top of the stairs. I just dislike how things don't feel so random. You have an idea on where everything is and the thing i like most about open world games is the randomness of the placements. Especially if we have only one map to play right now.
This game has potential but it needs to iron out the problems before it can be expanded.

I dont mind paying for EA games if the core gameplay offers some longterm fun even if it is buggy or the content isnt finished. It sounds like this game doesn't really offer much in that regard and is still being sold for its potential. As much as I want to see this game succeed, there just isn't enough there right now especially for the price.

While the game has potential, it should not have been released right now in its current state. Ive encountered unkillable zombies who can not be hit by any weapon while still dealing damage, the melee combat feels wrong and unresponsive at times and the guns feel extremely weak against the so called juggernaut zombies. It just does not feel good to play even though the atmosphere is very good at establishing tension and risk. The core systems need at least another half year in the over

It wouldn't be much of a zombie game if you could just perfectly not get hit by a zombie ever. There are some bugs but I feel people especially youtubers that have an agenda of jumping on the click bait title hate hype for views are just not giving it a chance to figure out how the game actually works. Also every youtuber hating on it always says its fun but. For instance if your recording for your youtubes and you see a bug you instantly focus all you energy on that rather than just moving on. Like I said its a preset agenda that ruins you having fun. I guess its because your in Australia because last night I saw a huge difference with everything over all. Im always jumping back in and cant wait till the next time I do so if your reading this and haven't absolutely been a hater sheep I say its totally worth it
