you can say you have the hot lambo in more ways then one. btw i am going to get one of those shirts lol. been saying I am the warranty for a while when repairing things. or building computers etc
Ed, you have been blessed with the abilities to make the most of many terrible situations and do even better with normal situations. My vote is you give it away to someone that normally could not enjoy an awesome 993 any time soon due to financial restrictions like a big family and being the one bread winner. I bet that would be the best use of the 993. Great story, thank you!
I know right? I remember they were at 27k when I subbed, and now that I looked cause of your comment the're at 325k! Insane, and justified, growth. Im waiting on the 1 million sub givaway ;)
I love this dude!!! He is extremely articulate in his knowledge of cars and he's just a genuinely nice guy!!! And I love the story of the stripper and the Lamborghini!!!! I'm definitely subscribing to this channel!!! Keep up the good work brother!!!!
This has all the elements of a perfect VINwiki story except a JC Penny gal. If the seller was a classy mature woman with a penchant for smooth talking southern salesmen would already have passed 1M views.
I’m from Evansville Indiana, where this car was located, it’s a gold mine for cars. Not as many salty roads as northern Indiana. Less rust, and cheap cars!
Dude if you give that away when you hit a million that would definitely be one of if not the the most expensive giveaways ever on TH-cam and ik I as a 16 year old or whoever gets it would be the happiest VINwiki fan ever
Ed...Mr. Bolian...Please give it way when you hit one million subscribers! I will most definitely be here (unless I croak first) to enter that contest! I've never had a car like that before and I sure would love to have one to drive and care for religiously.
my dad was once invited to a porsche event that took few days in alps and he keeps dreaming about it very often they aren't expensive as other sports cars but he can never justify spending money on one. I'm hoping to buy him one one day and share the moment together! love for the porsche is strong
You should do what I would do with that 993. Drive it, enjoy it, and at some point in the future when it's given you all the good times a car like that promises, find the right kid, one that will enjoy it, appreciate it, and deserves it, and offer to sell it to him for what ever money he has in his pocket.
NO. Im 25 and I KNOW there are very few people my age that would realistically appreciate the car and actually take care of it. Most will drive it till its nearly ruined and sell it off as some half working jalopy.
Sell the car to someone who can't financially afford it.. nice I get your point, sell it to the kid who wanted it as a dream and treats it amazingly, but realistically those are needles in haystacks.
Violent well I found mine. I wanted a 928 after seeing Risky Business so bad I could taste it. Now I have the 51st 928 ever built. And when I was 16, I fell in love with the black 928 S4 in Weird Science.... I have that one too. Buy your dream car if you can.
You got a new sub! Been on this channel for 3 days and I really enjoy the stories. As for the Porsche, just give it out each month for a 2 hour drive with some people for free it's the type of car more people should feel it change some gears.
I’m so glad you were able to get this car. Can’t wait to see it!! In my opinion the 993 is the best looking gen....and that’s maybe because it’s the generation I grew up around ....but the lines on that body style seem unmatched compared to any other gen.
Completely agree! There's just something that looks so right about the 993s. It wasn't until 2010 or so that I started liking the look of the 911 again, but park a 993 next to any water-cooled 911 and just the increase in size alone... Tony Hatter really really did a great job with the styling; making a clean break from previous generations, but still recognizable as a 911- it shared the basic body shell architecture with the 964... The 996 that came after was just... kind of "eggy" looking... Couldn't they have made a water-cooled engine (to keep up with emissions & noise regulations) fit the 993 without messing about with all the proportions? For safety regulations, the 911 was going to have to be re-designed at some point, and the performance has surpassed the 993, but it will always be my favorite!
I don't think there's anyone here who doesn't want themselves a free Porsche. It's an absolutely gorgeous car. I'd give it to my dad because he missed out on a buying a perfect, cheap Porsche a long time ago and it's his biggest life regret.
That price for that car in today's market is utterly mind-blowing (although it would have been normal 10 years ago 😂). I'm surprised he didn't realize that he massively underpriced the car after getting his phone and email blown up by people practically looking to throw money at him in the first half day of the ad being up. It sounds like he's the kind of guy who wouldn't have felt right using the ad after-the-fact.
Ahh Ed you beat me to it!!!!!! I tried to buy that car as well. Saw it right after you on RL and you beat me to it. When I saw the pic of the car on your video my heart sank lol
Ed Bolian I saw it in a meeting and by the time I was able to get out and respond I think I was in line right behind you lol. Hope it treats you well! If you are ever in St Pete stop by and say hey. I have access to some pretty fun cars you would love.
Fishing 727 I lost a '69 barracuda in a similar way. I talk to the seller, told them I'd bring cash as soon as I got off work, and buy it no questions if it was what they said it was. Told my boss about it while we were having lunch, showed him the add. He knew I was excited, even congratulated me. We finished eating, I went back to work, he took the afternoon off. The next day.... Well, I was fired before lunch...
+Ed Bolian Ed- the car is homesick, and wants to come home! I'm not far away from E'ville, and I've always been in love with 993s since they were released. They're great looking, great handling cars, but the prices (even for a clean tiptronic!) are getting out of reach- I can remember when a clean 993 Turbo was $75-85 K. Coulda, shoulda, woulda... If you're not sure what to do with this beauty, sell it to me! One of the few cities the Evansville airport services is Atlanta- I could be there in a flash, and have a great drive home- just the reverse of your route, or maybe find some back roads & really have some fun! I'm not worried about the carfax report, because if I got a 993, I'd plan on keeping it until I'm too old to drive anymore. Hell, they could bury me in it, like Willy the Wimp & his Cadillac (I'm sure you know that story). Of course, you're entitled to making a profit on the deal, but if the price is fair, you'd be helping me get in my dream car, and I'm already subscribed!
At that price you don’t feel bad using it as a daily driver, unlike a Ferrari which is more like a piece of art to most people. God forbid you should put any miles on a Ferrari! Porsche’s are drivers cars, for people who love to drive, and do drive, a lot! Ferrari’s are cars for people who may have a passion for the open road but they gnash their teeth because they know, for every mile they cover , the value of their prized possession goes down! Drive it, and drive it, and drive it, until it’s an extension of yourself, then you’ll be so attached to it,(pun intended) that the love affair will never end.
Ahhhhh....I learned to drive stick between three different cars. My stepfather’s ‘95 993, spiritual father’s ‘67 E-Type, and a friend’s mucho modified 1990 Civic hatch. I am eternally grateful for this automotive gumbo. Ed, unless someone removes your larynx over a bad Range Rover sale, please don’t stop your videos. But, even if some angry and/or automotive-ly challenged SOB catches a case of envy, I have an aunt who is rated best deaf interpreter in the state of Louisiana, so she can help me understand your sign language. God bless my man
It is probably pretty bad that the first image of the twin bridges was all I needed to know where the photos were taken. The second one with the Ellis Park sign is a dead giveaway for the location.
Thanks for coming along for the ride. We have been surprised at the pace of growth but we truly appreciate so many people watching and enjoying the videos.
993 is such a classic build and like you said at the end, it would be amazing if you took the giveaway route when the channel inevitably hits 1 million subs!
Vinwiki puts all other car channels to shame. No clickbait title hyping up the story, just true car guys sitting around telling great stories. You have given TH-cam a purpose. ;)
I really wish I’d of went to caffeine and octane when I was in ATL. Would’ve been cool to meet ed. We stayed in buckhead for the slammedenuff show, we had such a great time.
This story is incredibly similar to my recent find. Found a vague posting for an 02 Tacoma. Ended up being a loaded crew cab, for 3500$. Undervalued by the owners due to high miles and a quote for a 2000$ OEM cat. Ended up with a truck worth easily 12k just by being straight to the point with money in my pocket.
Omg that's crazy !!! I took a flight to Louisiana to pick up a car to drive back to my home back in Wisconsin and i saw your car I even took a picture on the freeway the car looks amazing
I messaged you for help finding a car a couple weeks ago and what are the chances that you'd be less than 15 minutes from me when you come to buy this Porsche?? Crazy small world. I occasionally shop at that truck parts store 😂
What an absolute GORGEOUS car. I know I'm dreaming here but to get it as a first car in a giveaway would be indescribable. Love that car like it deserves to be!
Been watching all your videos and this is my favorite one. What a great story on such a beautiful 993! This is one of my dream cars, maybe someday I'll own one when I pay off my student loans.
That whale tail and fat hips. Wow. I don't know if I'd do a thing other than maintaining it. Since owning a 16 years ago at 16 I had a 16 year old 944, I had to get something more reliable and my God I've always wanted one. When I graduated from Tusculum College my mother was shot in the pharmacy and am just now getting my bills caught back up and working as an antique coordinator(Business Management) had nothing to do with that. Caught by the families antique bug over 5 generations. That car needs to be near Appalachia with me if you do anything with it. What a smile I could put on the roads of Appalachia and the dragon. Miss my 944, my fiance has approved of ANY Porsche but I'm needing a great car for day to day and the 911 has always been on my bucket list. From my mom and dad to me I guess is where the love comes from. Love it Ed!
This car was from my hometown. Newburgh, Indiana. It was my buddy, Griffins. 😂 He has more money than sense. Has had all kinds of crazy cars since high school. Looks like he met you at Morgan and Burkhardt in between Newburgh and Evansville.
If you do a giveaway you should try to find a person that loves Porsche but can't afford to buy one because thats the kind of person who would appreciate it.
What a score on a 993 in 2018! I lucked into a local 97 C4S in similar fashion in 2014. I posted a WTB ad and got a response after a couple weeks. Seller wanted 42k CAD which was a good price It was still out of my price range as I had 30k for a sports car. 100k miles, 20k accident, arena red black interior with hard back sport seats. It had a grind into 2nd gear and sometimes 3rd. He offered it to me for 34k after I said it was out of my price range. The day of the transfer we drove it to an insurance office and noticed a lot of oil on the wet ground behind the car. We took it back to his garage, jacked it up and found a whole in the trans casing the size of a silver dollar! After some research and hunting for a trans the seller replaced it with a 62km used trans for 8k CAD. Because the car had no grind now he asked for an extra 2k CAD. I bought the car for 36k CAD. I even picked up the old trans from the shop and got $1500 CAD for the core! It is indeed underpowered but a nice drive and the styling is beautiful. My car is gone to Oregon in 2016 and I hope the new owner is enjoying it.
Ed should write a book, and it should be called "The Art of Shrewd Negotiation", i would definitely buy one
Here is a link to the book about the Cannonball Record - www.amazon.com/RECORD-journey-toward-self-discovery-Cannonball/dp/1520302649
He he does id prefer an audio book read by him. Hes voice is so relaxing lol
If he did write that book, it'd be $99, and the back cover would be the pitch convincing you it's worth that much.
ookoshi underrated comment
I will too!
I only buy cars with stories. Fiery and crashy stories, mainly.
Tavarish As long as it’s the cheapest one in the United States
Tavarish That lambo is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Literally haha
you can say you have the hot lambo in more ways then one. btw i am going to get one of those shirts lol. been saying I am the warranty for a while when repairing things. or building computers etc
You need to get on vinwiki some time
Yes. Yes you do.
You beat me to the punch on that Rennlist thread. I knew I had no chance when I saw you post!
I like sellers like this. Even if they haven't underpriced, he's transparent and respectful to everyone that showed interest.
Ed, this car is a perfect example of why you created VinWiki!
Beautiful car Ed, glad you're enjoying it for the moment and not just flipping it, hope it pops up in some future videos.
U guys went from 32k subs when I found you to over 300k. Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks! Which stories have been your favorites?
I know right? I remember they were at 27k when I subbed, and now that I looked cause of your comment the're at 325k! Insane, and justified, growth. Im waiting on the 1 million sub givaway ;)
VINwiki Mama and unwinding the Maserati deal -- hilarious 😀😀
Greetings from Thailand 😀😀
Flightboss33 yup I’ve been subscribed since around the same time
VINwiki probably Rabbit’s story of having a grandma co-sign on a deal
Ed Bolian is the best, all his stories are gold
And on that 8:35 bombshell, back to the studio!
Should we give it away?
Ed Bolian yes but international, i pay for shipping 😇
Ed Bolian 100%
is there an actual bomb shell or are you talking about the silver play botton
yes daddy Ed pls
I love this dude!!! He is extremely articulate in his knowledge of cars and he's just a genuinely nice guy!!! And I love the story of the stripper and the Lamborghini!!!! I'm definitely subscribing to this channel!!! Keep up the good work brother!!!!
Glad you secured it Ed. Good find!
This has all the elements of a perfect VINwiki story except a JC Penny gal. If the seller was a classy mature woman with a penchant for smooth talking southern salesmen would already have passed 1M views.
This was the greatest come up in Ed’s history of great come ups, can’t believe he gave it away
You know you make good videos when people like me like videos before they start. Thanks VINwiki for being awesome!
One of the sweetest 911's ever ❤
Salespeople love the shrewd negotiator shirt when you trying to make a deal lol
Vinwiki should do a Tshirt with that on
Ed - you might be the best story teller I've ever heard. I can listen to you talk about cars all day. Thanks for all the shared memories!
Ed securing the bag daily
this is by far, my favorite channel on youtube. Thanks guys, these stories are great.
million subscriber Porsche giveaway sounds like an awesome idea
Hail To That
You can predict the future, let me take you too Vegas.
And he did exactly that
Ed is the man. Eds videos keep my faith in TH-cam. Keep it up and look forward to the next one
Seller sounds like an awesome guy, something nice about the car too. A simple sports car.
I’m from Evansville Indiana, where this car was located, it’s a gold mine for cars. Not as many salty roads as northern Indiana. Less rust, and cheap cars!
Always love an Ed story. He’s my idol
Dude if you give that away when you hit a million that would definitely be one of if not the the most expensive giveaways ever on TH-cam and ik I as a 16 year old or whoever gets it would be the happiest VINwiki fan ever
The 993 is the best looking version of the 911 hands down
Kev Cooper no lmao
nah, its 993>997.2>991.2>991.1
964, 930, then 993 (in my opinion)
Best looking air cooled porsche is the one you have in your garage
930, 964, 993
Ed...Mr. Bolian...Please give it way when you hit one million subscribers! I will most definitely be here (unless I croak first) to enter that contest!
I've never had a car like that before and I sure would love to have one to drive and care for religiously.
Nice way to seize upon this opportunity to differentiate VinWiki from its competitors and emphasize it's core competencies. Good job Ed!
my dad was once invited to a porsche event that took few days in alps and he keeps dreaming about it very often they aren't expensive as other sports cars but he can never justify spending money on one.
I've got like 80 dollars in my pocket
Edward Agora Feenman yeah I wish. Although there is an old guy down the street who I already talked to with a 1977 911s. Hmmmmmm
NO. Im 25 and I KNOW there are very few people my age that would realistically appreciate the car and actually take care of it. Most will drive it till its nearly ruined and sell it off as some half working jalopy.
Sell the car to someone who can't financially afford it.. nice
I get your point, sell it to the kid who wanted it as a dream and treats it amazingly, but realistically those are needles in haystacks.
Violent well I found mine. I wanted a 928 after seeing Risky Business so bad I could taste it. Now I have the 51st 928 ever built.
And when I was 16, I fell in love with the black 928 S4 in Weird Science....
I have that one too.
Buy your dream car if you can.
This is one of those channels I didn't know I needed until I binge watched almost every video.
🔥” SHREWD NEGOTIATION” 🔥
Good Find, it's also good to know someone will take care of these old porche.
8 minutes and 53 seconds goes by fast when Ed is telling stories
That carfox looks like he’s seen things
Things he misunderstood!
I've given this a lot of thought. You should give the 993 away. To me.
Thank you. I really love it.
Wow what a find! Always love hearing Ed's stories.
I don't think there's anyone here who doesn't want themselves a free Porsche. It's an absolutely gorgeous car. I'd give it to my dad because he missed out on a buying a perfect, cheap Porsche a long time ago and it's his biggest life regret.
Oh my gosh. You lucky dog. The 993, in my opinion, is THE most beautiful 911 there ever was. Definitely on my short list of would-haves.
Yay! Saw the post on VINwiki and couldn’t wait to find out what got you to buy it!
Ahh Ed you beat me to it!!!!!!
I tried to buy that car as well. Saw it right after you on RL and you beat me to it. When I saw the pic of the car on your video my heart sank lol
Sorry about that. I was amazed that I had responded early enough to get it.
Ouch!
I've watched this video so many times just to look at the pics. I've wanted one just like it ever since I saw Bad Boys over 20 yrs ago.
Always love a good Ed video! Definitely my most anticipated channel to upload a new video, havent seen one I dont like keep up the awesome content
Drinking game - every time Ed says shrewd negotiatior take a shot = goodbye liver
Jake Browne more like goodbye life
Jake Browne i gave u the 50th like
Crypto Pirate thanks
Sanity game, everytime someone says drinking game, lose your mind a tiny bit
Goodbye shrewd negotiating skills
I bought a near twin of your 993 3 years ago. About the same price also. Love it. Congrats.
Congratulations Mr. Bolian,,that's a great car you found!
Absolutely love this channel. Thank you for the good videos! Keep it up! One of the best channels in youtube honestly
Last time I was this early, the hot lap passenger had never uttered any profanity
All the best deals I've ever had I bought the vehicle the same day I saw the posting. Cash is King.
When i found this channel they had 1000 subs which is absolutely ludicrous
Thanks for coming along for the ride. We have been surprised at the pace of growth but we truly appreciate so many people watching and enjoying the videos.
993 is such a classic build and like you said at the end, it would be amazing if you took the giveaway route when the channel inevitably hits 1 million subs!
"Porsche giveaway at a million subscribers" 😂😂 This man is someone to look up to.
Vinwiki puts all other car channels to shame. No clickbait title hyping up the story, just true car guys sitting around telling great stories. You have given TH-cam a purpose. ;)
Great find ! You need to send CarFax a thank you card. lol Great vid!
Ed stories are best stories. This guy could record children's bed time stories and make millions.
That price is insane. I can imagine why that whole forum went nuts.
I'd buy it and ship it over to Europe
My lord, is that you?
I'd buy it and ship it to Hong Kong except that LHD cars aren't allowed here
What a well bought car! It sure is nice when the seller and buyer can both be reasonable.
Ed Bolian, Doug DeMuro, Matt Farah, and Adam Carolla for the REAL American Top Gear.
I really wish I’d of went to caffeine and octane when I was in ATL. Would’ve been cool to meet ed. We stayed in buckhead for the slammedenuff show, we had such a great time.
Mention of Tavarish and Hoovie: GET THEM ON HERE!!!
Fantastic, these things seem to be so rare! Have some fun while owning it.
The one thumbs down is the guy who sold you the 993
Eds exotic car stories are the best
Nice pictures of the Henderson ky twin bridges that's my home town
Been watching all your videos and this is my favorite one. What a great story on such a beautiful 993! This is one of my dream cars, maybe someday I'll own one when I pay off my student loans.
Can you guys make a compilation of Ed saying "shrewd"
The seller had a great story - he got you mate lol he knew what it was....we all do with our cars.
Drive the hell out of it. Beautiful car.
That whale tail and fat hips. Wow. I don't know if I'd do a thing other than maintaining it. I'm here for the shrewd negotiation.
Ed doesn’t get friend zoned , he does the friend zoning.
Oh Oh Oh who heard the Tavarish & Hoovie name drop! :D
Tavarish has been a huge help as we have tried to figure out this TH-cam stuff. Glad to see him making progress on his cheap Lambo.
Just found your channel and I am hooked. Way excellent.
Ed’s playing the “Game” 😂
This car was from my hometown. Newburgh, Indiana. It was my buddy, Griffins. 😂 He has more money than sense. Has had all kinds of crazy cars since high school. Looks like he met you at Morgan and Burkhardt in between Newburgh and Evansville.
My absolute dream car!!
If you do a giveaway you should try to find a person that loves Porsche but can't afford to buy one because thats the kind of person who would appreciate it.
Awesome that he actually gave it away after a million subs
Nobody gives away anything unless there is something in it for them. How do you think they are so well off?
What a score on a 993 in 2018!
I lucked into a local 97 C4S in similar fashion in 2014. I posted a WTB ad and got a response after a couple weeks.
Great find!
