Good one Andy! Stands up great as an instrumental! I love the nod to supergrass! I hear the beach Boys influence especially in the middle section. You use of the spring verb captures that beach Boys wash. It's great when another musician throws in those tangents - well done!
How do you record your drums? I personally live in an apartment and can't really record real drums. Here in Berlin almost all payable rehearsal rooms went bankrupt.. So my only option at moment is EzDrummer. Your drums sound great btw.
Professional session drummer in a studio while also playing live with him for the rhythm track. Then I finish the overdubs in my studio. I used to use programmed drums on everything, put low in the mix you can get away with it, however nothing beats real people playing (as long as they're good!) Hope that helps and thanks for watching! You'll see plenty of my methods with the drummer in other videos
@@andypickeringmusic Definitely. Nothing beats a real drum set. One thing shocked me the most after years of recording. That a real drum set what was recorded with two or sometimes even one mic can sound better than a Drummer VST. That of course depends on the style and vibe and so on.. But man, If that one mic sounds good, for example a crotch mic, then the rest blends in beautifully. Probably come from the fact that it is played by real person, with intention, style, room sound and so on. Too many factors when recording drums.
