I played sax in a extraordinary high school band in Havre, Montana...1963-1967. Among the many great sections, the flutes were the most phenomenal..from 1st to 12th chair. The first four women recorded this piece on a record in the spring of 1967, their senior year. I had a CD made of that recording and still have it. They played just as well as the performers on this video. My musical friends are always astounded that high school students could play on this caliber.
Dear Sir , I'm from NYC and on many vacations I visited Montana to see Glacier N. P. I explored most everywhere in the Great State of Montana. I have driven through Havre a couple times. I can tell you that your High School music program is better than the music programs in NYC. God Bless your flute players and you and all the people of Montana. I miss it !

As a saxophonist, I liked this piece the first time around when it was called Andante et Scherzo...and then the second time around when it was called Improvisation et Caprice.
