This video came up in my recommended today, and I’m so grateful to the algorithm. I’m blown away by this store - there’s nothing like it where I live in Australia. Keep it up I love your vibe 🤤
I really like your style of filming your game hunt. Describing what you see and the price conversion is very helpful and informative. I also like getting to see your walk to the store and the surrounding area. It's a very immersive experience which I've been looking for as far as video game hunting in Japan.
Oh wow! Thank you so much! Really appreciate you telling me all this, as I put quite some time into the editing. Even if it doesnt always show so easily! I will definitely continue this style and film more of the surroundings before entering the store in the coming videos! Thank you once again!
Dang Nagoya has the best stuff, such an underrated area, I’m thinking of moving to Gifu area just cause it’s so underrated, and food would be great cause I also try to hit as many food joints on my hunts too lol
Yep, less tourists here in Nagoya! So definitely easier to find better stuff! Oh cool! Gifu has a lot of cool stores as well. Especially Ojamakan! Nice haha! Food in Japan is always top-notch!
Gotta love that music haha! :D Oh yea, its always an adventure going to these stores. I just posted another new video visiting 2 BOOK OFFs if you wanna check it out! Thanks for watching!
That pc-engine shuttle!!!! I did buy one about 22yrs back, brought it to korea but forgot it when i moved out of my apt *it was in a closet* came back and it was gone. T.T I really need to get another...108$ is a great price. Its VERY hard to find a boxed one now.
Haha yea I love the look of the PC Engine Shuttle! Definitely tempted to buy it :D Oh no, man! What a sad story. Yea I agree. The price was good. Maybe I will go back and get it. Still thinking about it. Thanks for watching!
I miss my time in japan, this summer was my first time visiting as I want to move to japan pretty much in the next 5 years. I visited hard offs and super bazaars for a whole day, found so many hidden gems. Bought myself a 3ds ll and a first gen switch both for modding for less than 80 bucks together. Cant wait to come back to japan before moving for a few weeks again
Oh yeah, I went to this on back in December. The older guys who work there are really nice. Always helpful. You'll laugh but I bought Nichibutsu Super Mahjong from here, but I like mahjong (someone has to) and it was very cheap boxed for the SFC...
Cool! Yea, very friends staff in this one, I have to agree with that. Haha nice. Well, its not my thing personally, but its cool to hear about other people enjoying it :D Thanks for checking out the video, Vix!
Nice pickups! I’d actually never heard of kid Dracula and appreciate the recommendation 😊 Always good to see you doing your thing and I look forward to the next one ✌️✌️
Awesome! Thanks man! Glad to see you here. New videos in the works. You should definitely check out Kid Dracula. Its worth playing through at least once!
You made two excellent purchases here with Einhänder and Kid Dracula! I can easily see why this is your favourite Hard Off, lots of amazing hardware to drool over too… I would have picked up that Saturn multi-tap, I´m on the lookout for one to play Noon with 4 people!
Thank you Björn! Glad you think so :D Yea, each time I get back to this one, its filled with amazing hardware. Oh cool. I have to check out Noon. Never heard about that title...
I always felt bad for the games in the junk section adam. I mean they look like they just throw then in a large container and just left there without any care in the word. Despite that the junk section is the most amazing place to search into because you never know what to expect. Thank you for the Shoutout 😊❤ yes Vib ribbon I love that game I grabbed it from Japan before cov hit and I actually paid around that price on ebay, so it’s probably higher now on ebay if it’s selling around that price, I paid Canadian dollars. But there is a Vib Ribbon ps2 I would love and mr mosquito lol 😊😂 Never seen Sega Mark 2😮 6:38 is that the price ps1 with screen? Always wanted the screen 😊 space pc engine is cool. Japan Kirby air beat to grab there and kid Dracula I could never get it on ebay from Canada definitely one to grab also for gameboy price is great there that’s around $20 cad. Loving the video the quality so good so clear compared to mine lol aha I edit on broken cell phone. 14:45 has ENGLISH and only released in Japan wow I want it also curious about clock tower so cheap there!! 18:17 looks like your holding a cake lol 🍰ADAM NO PS VITA????!!!😂😅😊 great video great pick ups and no gold ps2 eh!?

I remember going to a HUGE hardoff in shizuoka about 11-12 yrs back. They had a ton of old systems, even a bunch of old famicom disk systems. Shoot myself in the arse for not picking one up.
Haha yea! I saw way more games and system just right before the pandemic for way better prices. Still I was thinking "I can always pick it up later..." Oh I was wrong...
I love Kid Dracula on the Castlevania Collection on the PS4 and it's translated as well. I need to jump back in and finish it. I like that it feels like a spoof of the Castlevania games and it so much fun. Einhander is great, played that on PS1 as I love shooters and need to revisit that game and very cool you found a physical copy for both that games at a great price. I really like the artwork for Famicom is great and so much better than the US carts in my opinion. I was surprised to see a Neo Geo CD copy of Metal Slug for such a high price. It's a great game but don't hate me for saying this but for me Contra is the king of run and gun games. 😋 It's always great to see the retro game stores in different countries that you go to. If you run into Scruffy Looking RGB, tell him that Ed from the Evercade Effect says hi. 😉
Oh thats awesome. But I believe there's not that much text in it at least. Yea I never finished it either. Gotta do that as well! I've heard a lot about Einhänder but tried it out the first time ever a few days ago. Just as good as I imagined. Loved it! Yea Im satisfied with the pickups, but there were so much more I couldve bought. But I can always go back! Yea, that Metal Slug looked pretty much mint. Awesome video!! Going to Japan later this year, I will be close to 3 different hard-offs. What form of payment do I need to bring? I would like to stick with Amex or Visa, but you didn’t cover what methods are allowed. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.
That is a fantastic location brother. I would have bought all of the GBA/SP/Micro, Famicom JR., PC Engine Shuttle, and PSX which I could have fixed it easily. My wallet is saved but man I was pointing and shouting at the screen Great hunt!
Oh yea, it really is man! I knoooow haha! I was walking away from the store thinking about how many more consoles and games I shouldve bought. Our family is heading to Tokyo on Tuesday from Seoul, do you think Super Potato is still worth checking out currently, even if it's just for window shopping?
Awesome! If your time is limited and theres no HARD OFF store nearby, definitely go for Suruagaya then! Selection is not as big as Super Potato but still big enough for most tourists. And prices are way better.
Just 2 months and I'm in Japan! I'm watching lots of these videos as I'm looking to buy a used new 3ds (non xl). I've seen online prices between 13'000 and 17'000 yen, is it the same for stores too?
Verkligen Bubba!
damn that gold ps2 for $70 some was ultra deal bro, no nuts you shouldve gotten it i wouldve. As well as a much of those $1 games, luckly they dont have neck beards out in japan yet to drive up the prices of retro games reselling them. I know if they had a junk area like that here resellers would clean out those bins to resell those $1-2 games for $10-20 each no joke im not kidding.
Yeah dude! If there was one thing I was thinking about going away from that store, it was the gold PS2! I didnt even know it existed. So cool! Oh yea I know. Thats true. And to be honest, there are definitely less resellers in Japan. But I have seen an increasing number of Japanese resellers this year and last year. Before that, I only saw business men buying a nice item for themselves after work.
@@RetroMoments I hope I will come across some. Will Be visiting Tokyo and Kyoto this month. PSP Go systems are crazy expensive in the Netherlands. They can sell anywhere between €200 and €250.
Ugh, these prices are ridiculous. Gone are the days of being able to find super rare stuff on the shelves of book off for 150 - 2400 yen. from 2005 - 2008 i built up the most ridiculous saturn and ps1 collection from just bouncing around book offs in Kyoto. Most noteworthy being 3 complete copies of Harmful Park around around 3000 yen each. Now everything is just so overpriced, you'll never find anything decent for a good price. Still fun to browse though, cheers.
Awesome! Probably, its changing kind of fast now. It really depends how fast the stores are selling the games really. If noone buys them, they will eventually decrease…
@@lordbacon4972 Well, its very mixed. For example during the Famicom days, they would put English in the menus to save time and space in the development. And if we jump to the PS2 era, they would hire voice actors, which again, was cheaper to just make it in English for everybody and the Japanese releases has English subs.
Glad you liked the video! Haha yea I havent really prioritized PS3 in Japan! I need to dig into what games were exclusive to the country first. So far I just know that I want to get Initial D for it!
5:11 MGS 2 for 66000 ??? what's wrong with this people ? this is not even a touristy place, even super potato won't charge this much for this game hahahahaha
Crazy price indeed, though it's not the normal version but a a limited variant cover version given to Konami shareholders. The fact that it's factory sealed probably helped the price skyrocket.
Correct @tidalus! Limited edition and factory sealed. How many of those can you really find these days? Not many! Condition is always a huge part for stores in Japan when it comes to pricing!
by messing you mean "loving and preserving" ? I mean come one the guy made 100 views you think this horde of foreigners will all go to japan and buy everything ?
@@Yohann26 Sadly yes, ... and im not blaming him btw, i love watching these videos! But you cant ignore the fact that greedy westeners are already flooding ebay and local retro game stores with japanese consoles and games! I been in the scene for quite over 10 year now and i never seen this many japanese retrogames being sold in my country from normal ppl on the internet. For example, ppl been selling japanese Pokemon games complete in box for HUNDREDS here, even though we all know they are maybe like 10, 15, 30 bucks at most in a hard off, lol. Junk Gameboys, Junk DS consoles, ... seen it all here being fliped for dumb high prices compared to hard off prices! The carziest thing i have seen so far is a japanese Mario 64 in box being sold for 800usd in a local gamesstore with the hardoff price tag still on it, HAHA!! 600yen it was originally and it was a generic ass Mario 64 that you find tons of in Japan still.
@NinjaChris77 Yea you got some valid points here. And theres also a difference between a collector and a reseller. I bought 2 games from this store and not everything that was a good deal to flip. But I understand reseller will see this and go there... but like @xTHETRAINx said, its too late now. So many HARD OFF videos floating around on TH-cam. And bigger youtubers promoting for Sendico "Hey, buy these Japanese games, theyre cheap!" Also. Akihabara and Game stores in Japan has been a tourist attraction for many years. Long before TH-cam even was a thing.
I can't wait to take my trip to Japan one day. I'm definitely going to add Hard Off to the list of places to visit. Great video!

Haha not this time! Sorry 😃😅 But its 2 system I definitely like. So they will be picked in another video 😃👌
Do you recall the address of this specific one? I will be back in Japan this summer and definitely wanna check it out.
Awesome! If you search for "Hard Off Kanie" in Google Maps, you will find it. Theres only 1 store in that place!
19:19 beautiful burgundy fc cartridge
Oh yea! Gotta love Famicom!
22:36 notice how PS1 game spines differ from each other
That is true. It kinda bugs me to be honest. I want them all to have a similar theme or look the same. They should be connected somehow!
Nice camera work❤
Thank you, Cherry Baby!
Do you prefer Hard off or Surugaya to go to?
If you have limited time, Surugaya for sure!
But HARD OFF is more fun to dig around in and always has a bigger Junk Section if you're into that!
Just 2 months and I'm in Japan! I'm watching lots of these videos as I'm looking to buy a used new 3ds (non xl). I've seen online prices between 13'000 and 17'000 yen, is it the same for stores too?
Awesome! It all depends on condition and which store you go to. Stores outside the cities tend to be cheaper overall.
@@RetroMoments I have a day trip planned far from the cities, I will look up if there are stores nearby, thanks!
Great video!
Thanks Phil!
Where did you get that American Football steel drum cover!?
Not sure what you're referring to haha...
Hi mate back in japan😎 hope ya well 👍
Hey Wicket! Yea, expect a lot of cool videos coming. Hope your doing good mate!
whoa 8:14 get that super deal sfc
It totally is!
15:26 severely limited wii & ds games stock
Yea I was surprised about that myself...
8:52 dirt cheap Wii hahahahahaha
Yes Wii is still dirt cheap here!
Please show all non-gaming hardware also! :;)
Ive been thinking about that. What else are you into?
Verkligen Bubba!
if this 7:25 gold ps2 is boxed then it's a steal, and if it's not it would be still a not very bad deal
Oh yea its a great deal! Im still thinking if I should go back and buy it haha!
You need to get a 4K60 cam asap
New camera is coming! Aiming to get a very nice one! Stay tuned 😃👌
5:59 get this pink psp it's good price if clean
Oh I didnt know! Cool!
damn that gold ps2 for $70 some was ultra deal bro, no nuts you shouldve gotten it i wouldve.
WHOAAAAAAAAA 17:59
A PSX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And its cheap!!! Haha! 😃😂
YES I WANT YOU TO GO TO THE CAT CAFE AND PIG CAFE before Game hunting Adam 🐷 🐱
One day I have to do it haha :D
@@RetroMoments yes and you should soon ok for me enjoy the cat and pig cafe dedicated to Sara Sega girls :) come on Adam!!!
The workers must go to sleep with the Hard-Off jingle in their heads. Do you live in Japan now or just visit?
Haha probably! I cant see anything else 😆
Good question! I would say base is in Sweden but will visit Japan a lot!
@@RetroMomentskeep up the awesome videos :)
@@CrabmanGaming Thanks man! Glad to see you here. I can promise you that a lot of awesome videos are coming :D
I never notice any PSP GO systems in the videos. Do you happen to come across them?
Youre right! I dont see them very often. Always regular PSP and Vita…
@@RetroMoments I hope I will come across some. Will Be visiting Tokyo and Kyoto this month. PSP Go systems are crazy expensive in the Netherlands. They can sell anywhere between €200 and €250.
What is the correct location bro? Thanks for your help
Theres only one Hard Off in Kanie! Look it up on Google Maps and Im sure you will find it! Good luck!
One day im going there and buy all the japanese rythm games i can find!
Love me some Konami rythm games and they basically only came out in japan! :/
Nice! Oh yea, Rythm games are so much fun! Rythm Tengoku is classic!
Bishi Bashi is one Im looking to get!
I was wondering do you have the address to that specific handoff and book off building I want to go there sometime in the future .
Easiest way is just to search in Maps or Google for ”Hard Off Kanie”. And it will pop up. Theres only one store in that place. Good luck!
Thanks for the reply I found it on google maps i will visit that store on my trip to Nagoya on June.
@@takashi62015 Awesome! No problem! Was there anything in the store that you were interested in?
I was interested in the psx you showed in the video so I might buy it.
@@takashi62015 Cool! Hope its there. Good luck!
my dream is to find Biohazard2 for the n64 in such bin 20:25
I mean it’s not impossible. But quite hard since it got released in less quantity than other N64 games.
Men hoppas du hittar fler i nästa video. 😝🎣
Be cool to record in 180 or 360 so can view in 3D in VR in a Meta Quest
Thats not a bad idea, Edward! Lets see if its possible to make one day in the future!
Im going to japan in the next 1-2 years
Will the prices change?
Awesome!
Probably, its changing kind of fast now. It really depends how fast the stores are selling the games really.
If noone buys them, they will eventually decrease…
@@RetroMoments ok
What was the metal gear solid 2 version at 66,000??
Limited Edition and sealed! Thats why!
12:15 buying cib sfc games never made sense to me, box is hugely oversized, loose is just fine
Boxed SFC is nice because you get the artwork bigger and screenshots/story at the backside!
5:53 I got my loose red psp for 5000 from Akihabara of all places and these greedy bastards are asking 13200 ?
Red PSP! That sounds like a nice color for it!
Wow
Sounds like it was a great video, Vincent! Haha :D
Game and Watch prices????
Didnt see any this time around. I rarely see them nowadays to be honest.
🎉🎉🎉
😃👌
Hej är du svensk?
Hej! Ja!
Do any of these games have English language option?
Yes! There are Japanese games that have English!
@@RetroMoments Honestly I would not expect that, since most of these are "retro" Japanese released games intended for Japanese market.
OK it was nice fun vid, but you need to go slower and give PS3 games a look.
You totally skipped the PS3 consoles shelf, it almost killed me
Glad you liked the video! Haha yea I havent really prioritized PS3 in Japan! I need to dig into what games were exclusive to the country first. So far I just know that I want to get Initial D for it!
14:37 OMG very good price for this version of MGS
Oh yes! And it has full english in it!
LOCATION LOCATION SEND ME LOCATION !
Haha! Kanie outside Nagoya city! Theres only 1 Hard Off in Kanie!
Gold Ps2 would be sold so fast
Yea! I shouldve bought it...
The boss at 27:06 ... WTF :D
A happy boss haha! I agree. Its definitely a weird one xD
Like this comment for travelsvlogs from Retromoments 🎉
Haha! If it gets 20 likes, I will do it ;)
4:00 smb for 2200 ? is this a joke ? I got mine for 480, they can go to hell honestly
Theres something written on it. Could be coming from a special place...
PLS DO NOT wave the camera between glass cases it makes no sense we cannot see ANYTHING, SLOWLY
5:16
thx
Haha have you ever tried filming something and looking talking yourself? Its not easy.
18:17 oh you total inconsiderate !!! do not smash its corner to the ground 😡😡😡😡
Accident. Dont worry, no games where harmed during the recordings.
YK counter = 41
Haha love this! What about the other videos? :D
@@RetroMoments
10:01 awful overpriced Biohazard gaiden
Its very uncommon! If its in mint condition its a pretty good price...
8:29 overpriced av FC
14,000 yen for a boxed AV Famicom. Nah, its not bad. But not amazing...
lol hard off
thats the one to remember lol
Foreigners messing with japanese stuff making pricing go up for resellers................all this for 2-3 views.
by messing you mean "loving and preserving" ?
600yen it was originally and it was a generic ass Mario 64 that you find tons of in Japan still.
this shit is so true but it's too late now, way too many videos and resellers now hoping to make a measly 500yen markup
And bigger youtubers promoting for Sendico "Hey, buy these Japanese games, theyre cheap!"
Also. Akihabara and Game stores in Japan has been a tourist attraction for many years. Long before TH-cam even was a thing.
