In one hand, we have people that understand John Schaffer: he believes in freedom, in the indivuals. In the other, we have those blue hair, social media addicts, cowards and snowflakes. I don't believe in imaginary boundaries, defined by greed monarchs who used to think they have the right to command people lives, imaginary lines to keep the cattle feeding them, so I don't necessarily agreed with everything John believes, but at least, the guy it's not a coward, warrior of keyboard...! Hope Iced Earth can have a comeback, this band is simply too amazing to be vanished. Best albuns for me: Something Wicked, Horror Show, The Glorious Burden. Absolute classics.
You do know Schaffer made a new album that gets the old songs of the band and completely butchers to the point it makes fucking St anger look like Master of puppets
Man i remember my first Iced Earth album, no one told me about this band, i just walked into, Specs music store and got it. It blew my mind, i'm a fan since then.
How true. I first learnt of this band, when I walked into the heavy metal music store in my city and they were playing on the loud speaker. I asked the young goth chic what band is that playing on the speaker? She told me it was Iced Earth, so I bought the DVD. The rest is history. This was in 94
When I saw these guys live, the moshpit completely exploded when they opened with this. One of the best and wildest nights I've ever had! Love this band \m/
So glad I got to see these guys live. One of my favourite bands, I've been wanting to see Iced Earth for ages. They put on an amazing set, and when this song began, the pit went crazy. It was a wild night :D Hails from Victoria, Australia \m/ >.< \m/
Iced Earth is a great band as is Into Eternity. I am glad that elements of two of my personal favorite bands have merged together with this Dystopia album
stu still does recording for into eternity, they just have a sub for shows (which in and of itself kinda still suck but having not heard her myself i cant really say how i feel about her capabilities)
As per FBI website: Details: The Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Washington Field Office is seeking the public's assistance in identifying individuals who made unlawful entry into the United States Capitol Building on January 6, 2021, in Washington, D.C. That's it. They want to charge Jon and others for trespassing.
@@thetravenousgamer Yep. Civil Disobedience. It's like everybody organized and defied seatbelt laws. Most of the 70 arrests were Curfew Violations. Some of those had guns on them, so they had additional gun charges. I would say to turn himself in, but being a celebrity-type, they might "make an example of him". And as close as we are to war right now, I wouldn't be shocked to find both sides taking political prisoners.
Such a great song and epic cd!!!....stu is fucken awesome!!!!......but still miss Barlow probably my favorite singer of all time.....still can't decide between Barlow or Russell Allen of Symphony x. All Hail Metal!!!
This is a message of peace and sanity. Please stop reading if you just want hate. I see all those people spreading hatred on the band and over-analysing things almost saying that if Jon had not stormed the capitol there wouldn't be dead people etc. Guys, first of all what Jon and every "Jon" who was there that day did was illegal and yes, they should be brought to justice for their actions because they breached the law. As simple as that. To those of you Iced Earth ex-hard-core fans who mix music and politics, if you actually have been "listening" to 'em lyrics, you should have seen that coming. Don't really see why people are so impressed. And to those of you who play the "good democratic samaritan", none of us really knows Jon more than between a meet-and-greet and listening to IE in spotify so do not assume you know his beliefs and jump to conclusions. Iced Earth is a kickass MUSIC band first, and we all love their music even if a band member did a very illegal move, he must be brought to justice for that and thats it, life goes on. Please stay safe all!
And to comment on the band, Stu block sounds like a cross between Matt Barlow and Ripper Owens. They should have kept him longer or at least they should invite him back because hes really good.
Stu Block is great as the lead singer for Iced Earth. However, I wish he was still with Into Eternity. They are an amazing band and I loved Incurable Tragedy.
I had to give it a second listen to appreciate what this new line up brings. It actually reminds me alot of the Something Wicked album which is a good thing imo.
If you're looking for heaviness, Jon says Plagues of Babylon will deliver in that department. Speaking of which have you guys seen they just unveiled its full 12 song tracklist and the awesome album cover. Cthulu and Democide are my favourite of the song names.
I listened to iced earth and into eternity separately for so many years. They carried me through the hardest of times and rode with me through the best... never did I consider, at any point, that they would join forces! Schaffer has mentioned that he and Stu share many different belief structures... I want to pick their brains so incredibly bad that it physically hurts at times. So many fans... Maybe one day.... i just have a few (hundred) questions... thank you Stu for buried in oblivion... and thank you Jon for your endless wisdom, veiled knowledge that (if you know you know) I cherish. From Purgatory, to horror show, to the veil .... that's life in essence. Jon, if you ever see this, please reach out. I know I am just another fan... but none of us that are true fans... none of us are simply just that. We all share a commonality (I would like to think). And i love (parenthesis).
i am a HUGE fan of Mat, and I don't rly like dystopia album and PoB ... but man this song rocks, i feel like it is part of swtwc or burnt offerings ... gj Stu, and Schaffer ofc :)
hey -I know BRENT PERSONALLY - the coolest cat in all of metal - I used to watch him in the garage days - 25 freaking years ago - the most bad ass drummer on the planet
Stu's voice has a unique balance between falceto (I write it wrong but I DK how it's writen) to growl in a blink of an eye. some ppl say "there's no perfect replacement for the x musician" guess what ppl.for Iced Earth Stu IS the perfect replacement and his voice is stunning.
Looking through the cover flow on my iPhone has made me realize something. Iced Earth has the coolest fucking album covers ever. The only band that even comes close is iron maiden.
The opening progression/melody right at the beginning of this song, where does it originate? I assume it's a homage to a classical piece, as I've heard it in quite a few songs, played in the exact same manner. One that springs to mind is the end of Welcome Home by Metallica, from the solo.
I’ve been following Iced Earth since 1997, haven’t stopped listening to them. One of the greatest underground metal bands ever!!!
Same here..from Mexico
Underground bands don't enjoy millions of views on TH-cam or headline major festivals...

I declare this ICED EARTH DAY! Will always love this Band!!
After all this many years of playing the song on guitar I noticed the lyrics... and I love the song 99999999999...999 more.
Still listening to one of the best underrated bands in 2020. Iced earth is awesome

Iced earth fan since the beginning. Still kicking ass.
Ok now it's *really* turning into a reality.
You can say what you want about Schaffer, but he damn nailed this one.
New Fan. Jon. Thanks
A fan since their debut album
That guitar riff during the verse is absolutely insane perfection

puro arte

Beard Stu> no beard stu
Pantherex and Beard Stu = Sean Bean(Boromir LOTR 1)
This has to be the band that broadened my love for metal into sub genres
Amazing! Real music!
That's beast.
Phenomenal! Iced Earth kicks ass in any incarnation.

Iced Earth proves that you don't have to be mainstream to be successful.
HELLFEST 2014 !
I think Stu has been the best vocalist so far, his combination of highs and lows really make his vocals unique. At least that's just my opinion.
Iced Earth ROCKS! \m/
This might be the Gayest thing I’ve ever seen. But the best thing I’ve ever heard.
🤣
Hey, didn't realize in 2010's there are still relevant bands playing pretty much oldschool speedmetal that has equal parts of power and thrash in it!
I had to give it a second listen to appreciate what this new line up brings. It actually reminds me alot of the Something Wicked album which is a good thing imo.
lol yeah, M playing on this one, takes time & is very FUN to Learn! NOT EZ though attainable.
