Iced Earth's early stuff was Thrash as well. Matt came in on Burnt Offerings album, which is mostly a Thrash Metal album.

I love Matt Barlow big time and I love every album that he did with Iced Earth accept for Crucible Of Man. Even though Iced Earth is Jon Schaffer's band, Matt Barlow's singing did help get the band more well known around the world, but I love this band alot too and Matt has way more freedom now than he ever did in Iced Earth. Jon Schaffer calls all the shots in Iced Earth and he has done an incredible job . The past three albums that Stu Block has done with Iced Earth are amazing albums and he fits the band perfectly in my opinion. The two Ashes Of Ares albums that Matt Barlow has done are also amazing albums. As long as Matt Barlow is in the police force he can not do big tours and Iced Earth counts on big tours so they can make ends meet.

ASMR Rahl Cool managed to see him with Iced Earth at Bloodstock UK in 2008. well just before he left again. he totally nailed it. Glad he's still i music. Ashes of Ares are pretty damn good. Ah alsoI have that Pyramze album with Matt on vocals, very underrated album.

Matt Barlow really is the ideal vocalist for a metal band.
The range of a Bruce Dickenson mixed with the grit and aggression of a young James Hetfield.
I'm excited and sad for this...First, Matt being in a video is...Well, wow....And second, Matt is one of my all time favorite singers. It's hard to see him in a band other than Iced Earth, but as the same time, I love this song and I think this band is going to be amazing.

Most people say they expected more from AoA..but damn it is not Iced earth neither Nevermore.It's a new band..different feeling different style different character..with a few words..the debut album of AoA is FREAKING AMAZING..with the first listen of all songs and already I have some in my everyday favorite list..Hail Ashes of Ares..may they have a good start and an even better future..especially this song is top rated number 1..never imagined that freddie vidales could play such guitar..bravo

I'm glad Matt decided to stay in the music business, he remains to this day one of my favorite vocalist. I honestly don't mind that he left Iced Earth because the last album he did, it had great tracks, but this album blew it out of the water.
