No it does not it fills the water column like all foods are supposed to. Discus should eat from all levels, this is why you get sub dominant fish that don't grow in are small waterboxes. Feeding from the bottom is a very outdated concept that has to be changed, most fish are grazers and want to eat over time, we have to change are thinking, If your fish aren't eating from top, middle and bottom they are missing opportunities to grow and thrive (Shameless plug for this food) all animals can be trained just like humans, we just need to open up are minds to change 😉 Also try turning down your light all discus eat from the top they love it and absolutely brings out the wild in them, so natural!

I have juveniles of parent fish that are 5" to 5.5" long (on the smaller side from what I gather) and they grow slower than the rates I see online for wilds despite feeding 4-6x a day.

So this food sinks? My challenge with auto feeders is most foods one could use with them float and my discus don't like eating from the surface
