Couple things that are pretty egregious errors in his video as well: 1. The 2017 teaser trailers did not link to pre orders but to steam wish list and a crowd funding site. This kind of video is EXACTLY what makes me buy the game and do exactly the opposite that I'm being told. Thank you Harenko
The best part is that if you go to the original video, he says that he has to "limit comments as they are currently being botted by more faceless, newly made accounts than anyone could ever realistically keep up with". At the time of me writing this, the last new comment was 4 days ago and there are shockingly few comments that are actually disagreeing with the video considering the video itself has roughly around 135k dislikes.

Because saying "Hi am Fred" is a lot better then "Hello, my name is Hooka Daku Krunshnifi Ashlak", i assume its easier for Asians to do the same.
Russians in America rarely change names completely, but it's very common to use latinized and/or simplified forms, which are easier to pronounce for English speakers. 42:10 "Imagine developers of wolfenstein throwing a nazi party" Lol, Imagine Estonia holding an annual SS veterans parade. Like, literally honoring SS veterans.
My issue with the Wolfenstein Nazi-themed party argument is that you don't play as a Nazi in Wolfenstein. So the parallel for this would be Atomic Heart throwing a robot-themed party. An accurate comparison would be something like 2k games throwing a Rapture or Columbia-themed party since it is just the setting of the world.

I think argument is about how nazi themed things are not okay and Soviet themed things are ok? Like how having nazi themed birthday party would attract a lot of negative attention compared to Soviet themed one. This point suffers from the same things as his other points - it only makes sense in the context of being a Ukrainian, since there's a lot of negative feelings towards USSR there, as well as the mentioned new law banning sexuality in advertisements. People in most of the world see nazies as smth very negative, while soviets are still bad, but most people don't really care much. So for a person from Ukraine it's possible to see smth Soviet related the same way some American would see smth Nazi related. It's just that not nearly as much people have this strong of an opinion on USSR, and it's not considered wrong/unmoral. (Also maybe because Nazi had that whole race superiority, and USSR was supposed to be a multi national place)

I LOVE this game! I'm thoroughly enjoying it. But what I DON'T like is that in order to get resources to progress you need to explore to gather resources. By the time you have gained new resources you have to replenish what you've used to survive. Making it almost impossible to craft new weapons. Killing robots attracts repair bots, which sends up the alert level which attracts more robots. Taking out the cameras also attracts repair bots. The pistol is nice and all but once you've used that power the other powers have no charge. There is no time to chill out and explore and gather. It's always super full-on battle whenever we try to explore. The robot spread rate needs to be nerfed.
In my playthrough, a few judicious skill choices and you shouldn't take that much damage fighting enemies (I loved cryo at the start of the game, but in principle any skill carefully used would do the same trick). I was more often than not able to get more medicine back from them just as a random loot drop than what I used. You have to be careful at first, taking only small packs or one at a time. And second, I discovered that its useful to fight the bots inside of houses where the repair bots can't reach them. If you can lure enough into a house then you won't have to worry about respawns. Failing that you can try bringing down the "hawk" by gaining access to its control station on the ground. It should be down for like 10-15 minutes allowing you to mop up the bots with relative ease and not have to worry about alerts bringing in reinforcements. Also not sure if you realize but the powers use energy that is independent from that used by your weapons. You can have zero energy left for the energy pistol and still use all your powers. I played on hard and finished the game only a few days ago, only using energy weapons and a saw blade melee weapon :P. I don't like relying on ammo As you level up your abilities you can steamroll through many of them. I don't want to spoil the best ability but there is one in particular that is mind blowingly effective haha

That argument makes no sense on many levels. As you said, it's probably a random coincidence, and even if not, who cares? It's an event about a first person video game set in a soviet dystopia, where you fight robots. I can't see any correlation to lgbt.
The whole segment was so idiotic I was in disbelief, like yeah of course they're going to make an expensive soviet themed event because it's like...the same aesthetic as the game they're making and currently showcasing? And it's a PRESS EVENT (in russia by the way) so of course they're going to go all out on it because it's for marketability and to drum up hype in the media?

This is not videogames but in Starwars sequels you see 2020 earth politics and minority agendas pushed in a whole galaxy where there is a myriad of worlds and laws like its the only rule and trend. That is impossible and nobody cares about that in that setting and it pulls them out of the experience.
This exactly people don't just hate games with politics like everything in the metal gear series for example because despite basing some of the in game politics on reality the politics in those games are for the most part fictional and made to serve the story of mgs itself Kojima didn't feel the need to try and preach to his fans about his own political beliefs he rather presented you the facts of the story and basically left it to you to figure out your feelings on it. It wasn't a vehicle to just try and push his views onto others it was a form of storytelling.
In short, people who are clearly not oppressed in the slightest claim to be victims of systemic oppression. Of course I'm not going to take them seriously.
I always saw it like that too. No one likes games where the developer is trying to portray their politics as the "correct" point of view. @@sirrealism7300 if you don't want to support countries that are committing war/war crimes then be prepared to not buy any American, British or any other of the western world game developers currently operating. The people down here should learn a thing or two from Asmongold.
If decisions whether to support or develop a game should be based on whether the theme of the game or some of the developers ideology coincides with certain negative connotations or whether those "offends" some people in some way, then no game would ever be made, ever. You can correlate ANY game with some bad ideas anywhere, all games will undoubtedly offend someone somehwere.
true but i would put negative connotations not really together with being supportive of mass genocide upon a population. thats like having a game being made by nazis and people still support it because oh well its just a game right? some issues are really not that problematic. some are being put bigger than they are like with hogwarts. but a company that says its based in cyprus but is really based in russia and states its pro peace yet doesnt want to say they are against the russian war directly eh thats all very fishy.
The answer is clear; we gotta kill gaming 😞
Yeah, but mundfish games is sponsored by companies affiliated with Russian government. And also if in the case of the Hogwarts legacy, money you give for the game partially goes to one hated woman. In case of atomic heart it goes toward killing more Ukrainian civilians. Yes, one purchase won't change anything, and even boycotting one game doesn't do much. But it's a part of the greater picture. It's really important to create clear understanding that till invasion ends there will be no support for Russia and Russian companies.
@@alexabramiuk Whats the point? With your game purchases in the early 2000s from American Publishers you supported the wars against Afghanistan and Irak. Did you have moral problems with that aswell? Did you use Amazon while the Irak war was going on? This supported killing Iraqi civilians by proxy. Do you feel guilty yet?

As for the Why of why someone would fake their name, in case you didnt know, but there is a lot of discrimination agenst Asians over in America so having an American name when you are from Asia would help you to get less discrimination.
An other reason, as a Scandinavian, my name is nearly imposible for american and english speakers to pronounce, much less remember, so i have an englishified name that is easyer for americans to say and remember.
(In Russia most of these forms are viewed as diminutive and informal).
Mikhail = Misha (actually, just Russian for Michael)
Alexander = Sasha

@@Lesyenka Okay, so "Alexander = Sasha". That's like "Richard = Dick" to me, I don't see the correlation. Dmitry & Mikhail I've known before, never heard Nadezhda, but changing Alexander seems odd as "Alex" is a rather common name.
@@redbeardsteelskin6723 speaking about latinization of Russian names, typically, Alex would be short for Alexey, not Alexander. Ofc no firm rules there, merely informal traditions.
@@redbeardsteelskin6723 Indeed, short forms for Russian names may be quite unpredictable - same, as in English (and probably many other languages).
I miss the old days where a game was just a game, a way to relax and have fun in a fictional world, and you would enjoy it without giving a fuck about any of these.
It's always been like this. It's just that social media is more widespread now so it gets spread about more.

What if this Ukrainian dude is actually one of the developers promoting the game in a very ingenious way? Would be brilliant because he single-handedly sold a lot of copies of Atomic Heart.
Dude. Mind blown.
@@OzixiThrill indeed, Ukraine is an anarchic version of Russia striving for individualism, Belarus is a more decent and moral version striving for socialism. This is very useful for big Russia. After all, culturally, the Russian space is a deep acceptance and processing of European and Asian cultures, as well as Northern and Southern ones. But there are insoluble contradictions between them and in many ways quite different ideas about what justice is in life.
The Slavic cultural core is capable of accepting peoples, trying to preserve their identity and at the same time unite, but cannot simultaneously play out different civilizational scenarios within the framework of one state. It turns out a natural mechanism for testing and implementing different ideas of cultural development.

42:10 "Imagine developers of wolfenstein throwing a nazi party"
Lol, Imagine Estonia holding an annual SS veterans parade. Like, literally honoring SS veterans.
Or Ukraine having soldiers casually wearing nazi symbols on their uniforms and painting german crosses on their vehicles. Too inconvenient to mention.
Thanks to remind me of Wolfenstein games. Right at the start of the video, its what I thought of. LUL
thats not the point he made. He was complaining about there being propaganda in general (the person that made this video not asmon). Also its a game? That isnt real life? There are far worse and more damning games out there then that. Have you not heard of games like "Hatred" or "Postal"?
@@Divine_Darkness Hatred and Postal aren't even that bad tbh. I feel like we should just be adults and realize fictional forms of expression really aren't that bad for society.
@@SquaulDuNeant who are you referring to? The video's author? I'd say he's a bit delusional for thinking everyone else support his personal beliefs. Also the rest of his arguments (apart from sexualization, which goes in the same basket as the Nazi argument) are flawed and nonsensical - I just didn't focus on that but instead on the only thing he said, that could maybe make someone agree with him, because everyone disagreeing with this particular point imo missed the point and made weird arguments why it's justifiable (even asmon himself didn't really have a solid argument in that regard)
I'm generally not into the whole Atompunk aesthetic, but this looks pretty wild. I'm glad this dude made a video compiling a bunch of the marketing material into one video, and then paired it with a bad take so Asmon could react and I could see it. @The Real RWK Why?
I don't like relying on ammo
As you level up your abilities you can steamroll through many of them. I don't want to spoil the best ability but there is one in particular that is mind blowingly effective haha
