How to Fix Volvo V70 / XC70 Reduced Engine Performance Fault on 2000 - 2007 Volvo V70/XC70

Reduce Engine Performance Fault was displayed on the instrument cluster and engine codes ECM-295C & ECM-2900 were among the error codes found in the engine control module during a scan on a 2005 Volvo V70 . Same repair procedure applies to 2000 - 2007 Volvo V70 & XC70
Some of the symptoms of the fault include drivibility issues; Rev could not exceed 2,000 rev/min, car vibrates, transmission engages in 1st gear but don't select afterwards. When engine codes are cleared the car acts normal until you turn OFF the ignition and the symptoms will return.
