Hi friends! Today I'm sharing my swatch and review of the new Orly Cloudscape nail polish collection for summer 2024 - and I also did a couple of comparisons with similar shades from the OPI summer 2024 set as well :) Let me know what you think of that (and if I should do it more often!) I love having the comparisons. So often I buy a polish online, get it delivered and paint up a swatch stick and find it’s almost identical to something I already have as the online pictures didn’t really show the true colours. If it’s not too much work for you I would love if you compared new polishes to other things already in your collection so we can see how unique the shade actually is!
Definitely better memory! I think reading minds always depends on the details-can I turn it off? Can I see anything, even things they absolutely don’t want me to know? And I have so many memories I wish I could revisit in complete clarity ❤️

Love the comparisons! My faves are Indigo and the green. Definitely would like my memory back. I used to remember and recall things well about 15 years ago.
I love the whole comparison thing! I essentially had the same thoughts on the collection. But I kind of hate the fact that the yellow is a shimmer. They’ve been hitting it off with the pale blues though!

I was kind of surprised when I got this in my Color Pass because I was hoping for more polishes like they did in the Breathable with Melting Point. Those are simply stunning and I have been wearing them non stop but I did get some ideas for sunset nails with this one. Thanks for another great video Kelli 💜

Can I ask how long you've been a color pass member? I joined in April and got Agua aura but don't know if this one will be coming? I can't really tell drum the accounts page.

I have a really good memory that is pretty near photographic, so I would just keep that. I don't want to read minds because I would get mad if people had bad thoughts about me! 😂
Haha fair point 😂 but I also want people to be honest with me, I feel like outside of NJ people will just pretend to like you and I feel like they're wasting my time when I find out they don't actually like me 😂😂

Love this collection! Very pretty colors. I've never used this brand but I am going to give them a try! I love all polishes, creams included. People are missing out, haha! Ooh you definitely gotta try Orly, they are such a high quality brand! And they seem to specialize in these all-creme sets of colors that match so nicely together for manicures 🥰 I bet you'll love them.
ORLY is my favorite brand, I always go to ORLY before I go to anything else. And their bottles are so big but their prices are reasonable. Plus their formula is just *chef's kiss*

I love Take Flight and Indigo Skies. As Kelli would say..those colors make me look tanned 😂. I heard on Mediocre Manis live stream people saying Synthetic Symphony is discontinued. Looks like Indigo Skies might be a close match. SS looks more blue on my nails than the purple in the bottle. Glad I picked one up last year after you were raving about it. You look pretty as always.

The color palette is beauuuuutiful, specially for this time of year (in my country) although I’ve seen a lot of these colors around the tones match so well that buying them together seems to be worth it no matter what haha, even the shimmer

I love the comparisons! That was a really nice touch. I didn't love the collection seeing the ads online. Now, I need it. 😂 i would only want to read minds if I could turn it off. I would go nuts if I had to hear everyone's inner monolog all the time. Better memory would be nice, but there are loads of things I would love to forget, & others I'd love to remember better.

@@KelliMarissa I did one hand without the pale blue and then the other hand had the blues, green, yellow and the orly breathable sour time to shine that came with the colorpass.

Thanks for the comparisons. That was a big help on the coral polishes especially. Those are the ones I’ve been eyeing. I like the blues too. Decisions are harder on a low-buy.

That green is STUNNING, very fitting name! I only have one Orly polish right now which is Kiss Me I'm Kind (well, technically two because I asked my sister to get Kelli's Solstice for me from the U.S. as I'm from Asia 😁) but I'm excited to get more of their polishes someday, I LOVE their brushes and giant bottles!

It's SO bright and cute I love it!
It’s a gorgeous collection. I had Take Flight on for 5 days. No chips. My Ulta Exclusives showed up and they’re beautiful too. I couldn’t bring myself to take off the Take Flight so I layered Coral Crush on top instead. Head blown! Awesome combination. I’m working my way through the rainbow.! I’d def go for the photographic memory. I have a crap memory.
They just keep making perfect summer colors!!! 🤣
I had cancelled my colorpass just because I felt like the colors were getting too redundant for me. When I saw this collection I resubscribed so fast 😅 Holy cow the color story, the opacity, and the BRIGHTNESS!! I love how saturated the colors are!! I feel like that’s been missing. 😮💨
I think cremes are wonderful and can be a great pallet cleanser even having color. I like the glitter & shimmers but it may sound crazy but sometimes the cremes help calm my mind when needed.

I love Orly nail polish and I love a good cream nail polish too. Can't wait to get some of these and try them. If I could turn it off/on when I wanted to then mind reading. I don't think it would be enjoyable to constantly hear someone else's thoughts. Can you imagine if you were in a crowd how noisy that would be?

This collection is the first time ever I put Orly polishes in my wishlist. They are kinda hard to get in EU, so I tend to enjoy looking at them and skip, but Field of Wonder and Take Flight got me. I really love the base colour of Sunny Side Up, so I'll probably end up getting this one as well, if I can, patchy or not haha
Indigo skies is so pretty! I have similar color in my collection, it is cheaper than OPI! 😁 It is brand S-he!

Id want a photographic memory for sure. I am currently studying for the MCAT and it would make the chemistry sections so much easier. Plus I don’t need to know what others are thinking of me. My anxiety already does a number on me with regard to that. I don’t need any possible confirmation 😅

I had issues with Sunny Side Up - 3 coats and I still wasn't happy with it - next time, "undies"!! Doing Field of Wonder tomorrow - probably will do Stratosphere in January and Indigo Skies in the fall
The polishes are so nice and bright, it almost feels like the box goes to a different collection. Stratosphere is the only one that matches the box.
Hmmm. I'm pretty good at reading people, so I think I'll pick the memory thing 😀 Especially because my memory sucks due to chronic illnesses, that gives me insomnia 😅
And yes, I would love to see a fave coral list 😊 in March I had made a BYOP eyeshadow palette with the pantone Peach Fuzz color in mind 😀 So I pretty much wore coral, peach and orange 😁

I actually don't know of any true coral palette, that's why I made it myself with my big singles collection and some colors from ColourPop palettes 😀 BTW do you know that (almost) all ColourPop palettes are magnetic? It's so much fun to take them out and make your own color story 😊
Really appreciate the comparisons, as I was immediately wondering how the Orly coral color compared to the OPI. I’m also wondering how Indigo Skies compares to Mooncat Midnight Drive. Are they different enough to justify owning both?
I think so tbh! Indigo Skies is pretty dusty compared to Midnight Drive so it really feels like a more dusky, less neon kind of color!

No but there is a dupe in the newest OPI collection that I reviewed! I actually mentioned My Boyfriend Scales Walls in that video :)
I think my rejection sensitivity would make either of those superpowers essentially a curse.

You mentioned the word “dusty” several times…may I ask what you mean by that? I’m curious.

I just mean in terms of saturation! A "dusty" color means it's less vibrant, or has a little bit of grayness to it if that makes sense 😅 imagine a color slider where one end is super bright/bold saturated and the other end is fully desaturated/gray!

I love these colors. I currently have them on my toes for a skittle. I think I would rather be able to read minds. My memory is pretty good and I do feel like I am able to kind of feel people out so I guess I can kind of read minds but I’m definitely not as confident in that as my memory. I feel like I might know what they’re thinking but I’d like to know for sure.

How different is Indigo Skies from It's Brittany, Beach?
Honestly super different! It's Brittney Beach is an almost neon and it's a primary blue color, Indigo Skies is not as saturated and has a purple undertone to it 🥰
Indigo skies and Mooncat Midnight Drive how close are they 🤔
Pretty different tbh! Indigo Skies is a lot dustier whereas Midnight Drive is almost neon!
As far as the question of "would you rather", my answer would be a better memory. Mine's not gone but I think as I get older I would like to make sure my memory remains intact. As reading munds, occasionally I've had thiscwishbtoo, but I think it depends how. Would it mean at will? If so, then are we allowed to choose at will when we can do this? Or, would it leas to butter madness where all thoughts of those darling you come at you at once? In that case, I prefer no. Also, at times we need to ask ourselves if we really want to know what someone is thinking? Maybe in some cases but maybe its best we don't know at times. Lastly, I'd think it would be intrusive to that person whose mind we are able to read. Sorry this seems a bit much for the question but things we might consider before wishing for the ability to read minds, I think, if for nothing else but the sheer responsibility and reality of this ability.
Love this collection. I have been on a creme kick lately. I would definitely take the memory, I think I would agonize over every slightly negative thought and my adhd brain can't keep track of anthing.
7:50 so .... i'm guessing a skittle manicure is using a bunch of colors at once? i ended up with that after buying a bunch of colors and wanting to test them all at the same time.... and found i actually REALLY liked having YES COLORRRRS!!! the whole time. mental patient chic? LOL. anyway, it's cool if that's also a real thing. hadn't seen anyone with it but pretty sure i'd have noticed. i think it's fun.

Honestly, I feel like the possibility for reading minds to go badly is just too great for me. Is it at will or automatic, what if I read a thought that I really didn't want to know (major TMI) and I can already overthink things so much I suspect reading minds wouldn't help me but could result in more overthinking. I want to reduce my overthinking and obsessing with worry over what someone thinks of me, not just have a means to find out. Though I have a really good memory for specifically memorizing things like a script for a performance when I put in the effort, my mundane short term recall is not as good and I have aphantasia, so no internal visuals at all. Having a photographic memory and being able to visualize things like that would be kind of cool.
Eh not feeling this collection especially when I want neon vibes for the season. Question is a tough one. I’ve heard from someone who has a photographic memory that felt like it was more of a curse because he can’t read restaurant menus or he’d memorize them, things like that. I’d still prefer that to knowing people why didn’t like me or knowing what people were thinking that made me uncomfortable in another way like what sexual things they wanted or other creepy thoughts they might have. Seems cynical but I am a realist from my life experience lol

Definitely a photographic memory. I have a terrible memory and all the things and languages i could learn! Mind reading i feel like has some benefits but overall, would stink. I didn't want to know what people are thinking half the time. Plus I feel like it would be an intrusion.
Beautiful colors, but all the cremes made me realize that style of polish is my least favorite 🤦🏼♀️ I did love that light purple! The shimmer was beautiful but yellow isn’t my color! I have yellow undertones so it never looks very good on me. ☹️ I use to have a really good memory, so I’d rather not have a photographic memory. You see something you wished you hadn’t then it’s stuck there forever 😂

OK, so hear me out… I love Orly but I am disappointed in their most recent collections. They are the same combination of colors, just in different finishes and some aren’t that different.
- Cloud Scape: Creams in Coral, Orange, Yellow (slight shimmer), Green, Lite Periwinkle/Blue’ish, Purple
- Melting Point: Shimmers in Coral, Orange, Yellow, Lite Blue, Blue, Purple
- Aqua Aura: Pearl Shimmers in Green, Blue, Pink, Pink/Coral, Orange, White
The pink/corals from CS, MP & the Ulta release are almost identical. Wink Wink & the pink from AA are identical. Same with the Ulta & MP purples... It's a bummer really. Love the side by side comparisons. 🙂 I feel like most of the brands are running the same color pallets, even the indy brands.

As the owner of a migraine brain with almost constant brain fog I'll take the photographic memory please! I am forever looking for things I've put away and then cant remember where.

I can't really answer the fun fact question. I already have a semi-photographic memory (how I remembered 75 digits of pi, once upon a time), so I don't really need that. On the other hand, I don't want to read minds, because, after growing up in a medical household and working in law firms, I can guarantee that you really DON'T want to know what too many of the people around you are really thinking.

No one should accept mind reading until humans are more honest, it will only hurt from the amount people deceive even ourselves.
come ON Orly give me at least a couple fun finishes. This doesn’t even have the fun color story (for me) of Summer 2021 (2022??) when we had Plastic Jungle, Artificial Orange, Synthetic Symphony etc. I don’t love this.
