Now you know why all of us have encouraged you to do this song. The first few times I heard this song, the lyrics brought me to tears. I still occasionally cry listening to it. What the young man is suffering through, yet still finds healing, that is so very powerful. He even is able to forgive his father for the abuse he suffered through. The lyrics are so powerfully delivered.
Funny how it's the metal bands that can hit the emotions harder than more timid pop rock or CCM music of today. Must be about the great contrasts and serious subject matter more of their artists write about!
Great song from Tourniquet one of their best. Saw them live in 1992 Sonshine festival and another time live was great. I would love to see reactions to Deliversnce song "Slay the wicked" and X-Sinner song Medicine
Incredible song from an incredible album - my favorite album from Tourniquet. Still holds up. As stated earlier, their first three are amazing - classics.
I'm glad you love this song like I do. It's one of the best I've ever heard from any artist, an absolute champion musically and lyrically. And yes, the drums always stand out in Tourniquet tracks.
This song still gives me chills to this day... Guy Ritter's voice really epitomized how a lead could carry the entire feel of an album, especially the mood. Thankfully or society not easily embrace those born with autism spectrum disorder, even those with Down Syndrome which appears as the emphasis of this track. TV shows such as 'Life Goes On' featuring Corkey back in the 90's did much to normalize these amazing people. The classic track Cryptic by Mortal (intense record labelmate) touches on the subject briefly in the back half of the track as well, the generically abnormal being throwaways in society. If you haven't heard Lusis and Fathom by Mortal, you must! Their swan song as Mortal: Nu-En-Jin is also fantastic.
@@Metal777 The first three: "Stop the Bleeding" (1990) "Psychosurgery" (1991) "Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance" (1992) These are the only ones on vinyl so far, I'm pretty certain.
Great song! It has kind of an 80s vibe to it and I like the lyrics. Great message of hope for those who have been abused. By the way, I got another notification that you uploaded a video titled "Classic Disaster - To The Ground" but when I tried to play it, it said it's unavailable because the video is private. I wanted to mention that since I don't know if you made it private intentionally or if you accidentally made it private.
Yes! As far as that Classic Disaster reaction video btw, there ended up being some issues with it and I decided to post it today instead of last night.
Tourniquet was ahead of the times back in the day, with guitar's, vocals, bass, and especially Ted Kirkpatrick on drums. Best album ever by Tourniquet. Metal777: Question have you ever done a reaction video on Demon Hunter work? or Impending Doom? I don't recall you ever doing a reaction video on these bands, and would appreciate it when you get a chance to do a reaction video. Thank you brother, blessings as always to you and your family. 🤜🤛🙏✝️✡️🕎☝️🙄☁️👑🙌🕊️
Yes! This Tourniquet song especially blew me away! I've done two reactions to Demon Hunter (Freedom Is Dead & Defense Mechanism) and one for Impending Doom (Satanic Panic). I'd love to do more, but the problem is that I'm a big fan of both bands and so I've already heard most of their music. I haven't heard anything from Impending Doom's first album though, so if there are any songs you'd recommend off that one I'd react to it.
While I loved Ted, I've must wonder why the band was torn away from the two founders, Gary Lenaire and Guy Ritter, it if they simply handed it over... Everyone knows Ted got the limelight and recognition for his drumming prowess. They were also instrumental to their unbeatable sound which effectively ended with their 4th release. New Tourniquet and original sound goes by the name FLOOD, with Gary and Guy reuniting with a female bassist and the drummer from Extol. Incredible stuff!
I love this song tourniquet is amazing and this in my opinion is the song that really put them on the map maybe Do a song by deliverance next called temporary insanity and has kinda same meaning almost checking out
Oops, so sorry but I totally missed this video somehow. I was just looking at your channel tonight and saw I had missed this by accident. Today was another day I worked by myself and it's been super busy. As far as the song, powerful message and nice guitars. Vocals are out there for my tastes though lol.
I❤ed you're reaction for this song. Could you please react to Paramæcium Exhumed Of The Earth Album? Especially the first song called "The Unnatural Conception In Two Parts:The Birth& The Massacre Of The Innocents". I think the drummer is from Tourniquet. Correct if I'm wrong. But the drumming in that album is just minblowing and the riffs hits hard too ❤🤟🏻🎵🎶
You're close. I think that album was Jayson Sherlock of their Intense Record labelmates Mortification, a death metal act... He was known for his heavy use of double bass kicks and at the time the second best drummer in Christian music behind Ted, according to the fans of magazines like Heaven's Metal.

Their first 3 albums still hold up today. Genius!!!
This song really blew me away!
Wore two copies of this album out when I ead a teen 30 years ago. This song still gets me every time. Truth is truth.

Awesome! I'll see if I can react to those songs!
I remember seeing this song played live, they were amazing live as well!
Seeing Tourniquet live must've been a really awesome experience
2024 still listening to this classic! It still ministers to me every single time I listen to it!!

Yes! When I was coming up with the rating for this song I realized I couldn’t think of a single negative thing about it.
@@Metal777 A few more Tourniquet tracks to check out are A Dog's Breakfast, Tears of Korah, and Tomb of Gilgamesh. Each one is a winner.

Really liked this album and the next one back in the day
Really good song!
Not typically into such wild vocals; but it fits their music so well.
Just ordered some Tourniquet vinyl...
