this guy has to be the happiest dude in mini painting. I mean I know we can appear happy on the outside, and not be inside, but he always seems really happy , and it is always pleasant to see.
On the AoS side, the former Underworlds warbands are US$25, and they're almost all fantastic. 3 to 6 minis each, giving you a real flavour of their factions, and playable in AoS.
If only you could still get any of them at $25 still, but that was the price they started at 3 years ago. Warbands are $40 msrp now and have gone up each season so even last years models are $35.
@@ant6227 pretty sure they mean ordering the models separate from the cards off the website, Season 1-2 warbands are still $25. Although I don't know how good they'd be for an AoS player since they're too low points to actually do much with, around 200 or less. If they're a Warcry player, then yes absolutely Underworlds Warbands are an excellent gift. Although, if you wanna give a Warcry player a gift and don't mind spending $50, you could buy them Bladeborn from Barnes and Nobles available starting on Christmas Eve. Even if they don't touch the game itself, it still is 2 warbands (10 models), some dice, and additional rules for those 2 (plus 4 more not included in box) warbands to be played in Warcry. Khagra's ravagers and The Godsworn Hunt are both also really good sculpts.
@@ant6227 Just picked up a couple of them on ebay for $25 each, so it's not difficult to find them. I've also seen last seasons warbands going for 30 bucks or so
"The Lord of The Rings which I didn't even know had a starter set" After your comment on the Balin's Tomb board game I'm not surprised. It's a really good and equally popular set that has brought many people (back) to the game!
I don't play the lord of the rings game. But just looking at it from a number of minis per dollar standpoint, it's gotta be one of the better boxsets they make.
Hobby Lobby did me good! Someone returned the Eclipse because the air was broke?! Yeah, their employee said it wouldn't work. So they sold it to me for 24 bucks. It came with lube 3 paints and thinner. All I had to do was clean it lol! It was brand new and previous owner didn't know how to mix and thin paint! The Hobby Gods were smiling on me that day!
Jay: “But what is not a skip is…” Me: he’s gonna say the line! Jay: “the Eons of Battle C…” Me: here it comes… Jay: “cookie cutters” Me: well played Jay, well played
I was going to get that new play dough wargame for my niece and nephew as it looks like an awesome way to get kids into the hobby at a very reasonable price. I know I would have loved it as a kid , it's too bad it's sold out most places but I might grab it for one of their birthdays in the near future
Last Eldar release I think was the new Howling Banshees. Before that it was the Triumvirate of Ynnead, and they had some small updates (Plastic Farseer + Warlock). But they're also still stuck on the plastic Guardians from the '90s...
Great list, thanks. Hoping I get my cookie cutters in time to make cookies for Christmas. :) Hey, one thing about the airbrush: what I've heard from people I respect is that you should drip-drip your water (or thinner) first, then drip-drip the paint. That wouldn't do anything about heavy chunks, but it supposedly reduces clogs. My own much more limited experience agrees, for what that's worth.
My recommendations: Frostgrave Wizards 1 and 2. Can be gotten under 20 euros, and they are a kitbasher's dream with all the hands and heads they have. 2 has very good female bodies and heads, and is always a recommendation. Stargrave Mercenaries: Frostgrave bits choice, in space. GW Zarbag's Gitz or Thorns of the Briar Queen (only from their website) 20 euros for 9/7 models with good character. Also the Myrnmourn banshees, 4 good ghosts for 12 euros. Wargames Atlantic is nice, but you really want to know whether one of their boxes fits the army before choosing. Very nice Squats, spiders and heavy weapons teams.
I believe you can use those dreadblade harrows as battle line as well. I have a buddy who is wanting to get into the hobby and loves the Night Haunts, I might have to grab him a box. I heard around Halloween of next year they are getting a new rulebook as well so as we all know that means they will probably be getting a major boost in power so now is a good time to start grabbing up those cheap models on eBay. I have a few of the models I bought just because I wanted to paint them like the black coach ( which I still argue should be in the soul blight book as well) and Lady Oylander and they are great for starting painters
Thanks for the video. I'm interested in seeing how they make the Eldar relevant again after they put all the concepts into Primaris. The old SM tactical squad was a block of reasonable infantry that could take 1 or 2 special weapons, and Eldar's difference was they had weaker base troops and full squads of special weapon troops (fire dragons, scorpions, banshees.) Eldar squads were valuable and specialized, if you used your elite squads improperly, they would die horribly, but if you used them correctly they would win you games. However this is what Primaris does now with all-plasma squads, all-melta squads, etc, even the grav tanks. So what do the Eldar do now that Primaris don't?
Also FYI the picture in 17:42 is a Rangers backside. Rangers have them too and they plug their guns there just like in the picture. Plus the cloak is clearly camo....

One of the many things GW does that irks me is making box sets that don't give you enough models to make a full unit or two, they are always missing a few forcing you to buy more. For example the glaivewraiths you featured, a full unit is five.
Great list mate! Id love to hear your thoughts on the models for a tabletop game called ‘Moonstone’. I’ve recently come across it and I found those minis some of the very best on the market!
Eldar have gotten new models every edition. They got new banshee models in 2019 right before covid and no one bought them, so its not surprising that everyone forgets. Even with these new advent leaks its pretty clear that its not all the aspects getting updated, so I predict there will still be complaints because it wasn't their favorite aspect.
Nah as someone in a few Craftworlds groups we are just happy to have new stuff, and the issue with the Banshees was the massivespike in price, for 5 of them it's £32.50, whereas before it was 6 for £25, which of course is annoying and inexcusable.
@@oliverp3545 So I assume the Craftworlds players will continue to not buy models then? All the new aspects are going to be priced similarly. Every new sculpt for every army comes with a price hike, and always has, for well over 20 years.

The one you thought was a wraith construct weapon is definitely a ranger rifle, the one you thought was a warlock back was also a ranger and the one you said looked like a Dark Elder weapon probably reminded you of a shredder which lore wise is a modified death spinner so most people suspect warp spiders.
It'd be somewhat lore based for the shining spear phoenix lord to show up again as well, and be a perfect excuse to update the aspect warriors to not look so, so very dated next to regular and warlock jetbikes. It's time. The tanks and vypers still look good to me, so it's what I'm hoping for.
AMA: What are your thoughts on the recent GW post concerning the far-right fans among the hobby? What are your experiences w/ people like that at any LGSs or any warhammer-related event, if any? What is your take on how GW has presented the Imperium in recent pieces of media compared to how they portray them in said open letter?
You know for the fact that parents will open that gift guide and go WTF how much. GW are relying on pressure from the kid to get those big markup sales noted in that guide. The website is not better, you filter for less than £25 and it shows items over £25. Its like 'we dont do that here' meme :D
I dunno about that "Other companies for cheaper than GW" shtick. 3 models for $21 comes out to about $7 per model. You could also get a box of 10 primaris intercessors for $60, hitting the range of $6 per model... or a box of the firstborn tactical squad for, I believe it was $45, which brings the price to $4.50 per model. there's also Necron Warriors for $45, which also nets you $4.50 per model. Heck, the cheapest I've seen for troops price wise (excluding your excellent recommendation for cultists earlier since they're cheaper) are the Tyranid Termagant brood, which is 13 models (12 termagants and 1 ripper swarm) for $35, giving you an individual model price of about $2.69 per model. It really all depends on what you're looking for to give as gifts and how many models are needed for different games though.
I love that GW markets themselves like a kids toy company and charges prices equivalent to a mid life crisis

06:25 If they're ever released Primaris Razorback / Rhino The price is probably 200 dollar
but don't worry it will be 500 points and can carry 3 primaris and have so many guns with no range
You know for the fact that parents will open that gift guide and go WTF how much. GW are relying on pressure from the kid to get those big markup sales noted in that guide.
The website is not better, you filter for less than £25 and it shows items over £25. Its like 'we dont do that here' meme
:D
GW with their kiddie style art “Pwease gib me 200 dawers for your Cwistmas gift?? 🥺”
Ok double comment today, question actually, when you paint for you not on camera do you wear the work apron of it just for the show?
Oooh the 8 Cultist could be nice i bought 12 of em from someone who was selling all his Chaos Space Marine units so it could make me 2 units of 10 !
That wrapping paper is actually pretty cheap, most is like 5 or 6 at target
